[News] Funny Pages: Why Do We Fall, Ravens Fans?

22 posts in this topic

Love the new addition to the regular contributors here, thanks for the giggles Ben Rosen!! The clip from "The Birds" was too funny.....!! And speaking as a female fan, Jason Babin is a hottie, lol, but hope his play here is even better than he looks!!

As far as our game with the Raiders, I just want a well-played decisive win over them.... Can't ask for more than that. :)

Tight ends are going to be critical to our current and long term offensive effectiveness. The sooner we get the TE's rolling with reps, the quicker this offense will find success.

We run a WC offensive, the O-line has to give Flacco enough time to unload the short quick routes that the WC offense is all about, and then give him the time to go downtown every once and a while....Our offense is not a quick strike offense, it is built to manage the clock with 10-12 play drives, that move the chains and get some points on the board....Flacco didn't even have enough time to throw a screen pass last week, O-Line is the priority....

Yeah, back in July I was buying a ticket at a movie theater, the guy at counter saw my Ravens wallet and said "oh do you know your team is predicted to win the super bowl?" I think I literally cringed on hearing that lol. Not only are the Ravens a team that thrives on adversity, I've noticed its fan base (not just me) is usually more comfortable having our team as the underdogs. Something about having something to prove, to prove the pundits wrong is so appealing to us all here :D hey it's a good thing if it's keeps the Ravens fighting. Maybe one day we'll be comfortable on top. But I'm ok with us being underrated, usually. It's fun to turn the tables on 'expectations' come game time. Anyway, nice article, love the creative humor!

Will Koch be Trestman's most valuable piece of offense? Against Denver I thought it was the Cam Cameron 3 and out pin'em inside the 10 offense.

The offense against the Broncos moved the ball on the last possession of the game, so where did that come from? Even though they didn't score the still moved the ball, why because they had a sense of urgency! They have to become more aggressive and attack the opposing defenses.

LOL, great stuff!

Despite what many may think, Oakland probably isn't going to just give us the game so look sharp because we're going to have to earn it.

I've said this numerous times about the Ravens offense!  They not only have to "become" more aggressive as you mentioned but to me they have to "start off that way".... "play that way" ....and "stay that way" throughout the entire game in order to finish these teams off!  They have to come out and keep up the intensity...especially on the road! They just don't seem to do that against these top notch teams for some odd reason imo.

No they won't!

I've been out of the... "Oh, we got this," and the "This should be a easy win" talk a long time ago when it comes to our Ravens and their offense in particular.  They don't do nearly enough often enough offensively to make me have that type of confidence and assurance in them from week to week.  And to be honest, I hate that I feel that way cause I love our team and want them to shine week in and week out and for them to look goooooood doing it!

Because teams don't sign 35 year old free agents until there's an injury.

How many teams has he played for in his career? What's the longest he has been on any one team?

Throw in the 1st half and run it down their throats in the 2nd! Three and four wide with some no huddles will finish them off! LETS DO THIS!

If Babin is so "amazing" why was he available?

How many teams has he played for in his career? What's the longest he has been on any one team?

OK - maybe he is truly washed up. Maybe he was never a cornerstone of a franchise and never won DPOY. Nonetheless, we lost someone at his position and needed to fill in. Unless you are willing to cough up our future to try and make a trade, which undoubtedly we'd be forced to over pay for, does it not stand to reason that whoever we pick up is going to be "available"?

Because he was available, does that make him worse than every other player on every other team's roster? No. When you are 35, you have to be head and shoulders better than the young players on any given team. You have no real future, no big upside, where young guys you have drafted do.

So - give me a better option. If you do, I guarantee it is going to be another mid-30s player whose best years are in the rear view and then it will just be a matter of opinion as to whether this guy or that guy has the better chance of making an impact.

OK - I think it is probably an overstatement to call him an "awesome" pass rusher (which is the term used in this article). But I choose to remain cautiously optimistic that he'll give us a boost and allow us to keep enough of a rotation that will keep our other players from totally wearing down when trying to fill the massive gap lost by Suggs. Not be a world beater, but effective.
