[News] Late For Work 9/17: Breshad Perriman Expected Back In October, Mark Clayton Has Some Advice

98 posts in this topic

The ones who said Torrey smith should've been resigned, 1 catch 11 yards.

Torrey had games with the Ravens where he had a catch or two then the next week have 5 or 6 for 100+ yards. I still wish we had Torrey on our team. He deserved to get paid.

Torrey doesn't have Flacco throwing to him and imo that will be the difference for him this season. kap is not Joe. Hope some fans are happy to know that Perriman may return in October I know how worried they were lol. Go Ravens.

You know- as messed up as all the diagnoses of Perriman have been, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he ends up missing all of October and makes his debut in December. The only thing I'll believe at this point is when I see him on the field.

Sorry, Torrey wasn't worth 40 Million. I'll wait for Breshad to get healthy and then we will see? Don't get me wrong I like Torrey just don't think he was worth 40 Million for a #2 receiver.

$1 mil in travel/lodging fees is nothing to a man who owns a franchise recently appraised at $2 billion. I've always said, any money you can spend outside of the cap to make your team better is a no-brainer (as long as it isn't spent on spy cameras and radio signal jammers, of course).

That sucks, I mean Harbaugh I get not releasing details of injury, but from the beginning " this just a minor knee day by day we will see" what are like 6 weeks removed from the actual injury? Now possibly out at least 2 more weeks since it says back in October... They could have just put him on the PUP list from the beginning, so we know what we looking at...

I had realistic expectations of maybe 600 yds receiving, but know I'll just hope for the best.

Not sure PUP ever made sense, because then he wouldn't be back until at least November.

It appears he will beat that by a good month, so that would have been a waste.

Great post but you forgot to include hush money to the "Deflator" equipment guys.

Why put that video of Babin up there. That's about as cheap as a cheap shot gets! I've seen him make some great tackles. Put those up there! Look, no matter how much I hate everything about Pittsburgh FANS, I've got respect for Ben. That's one heck of a tough guy, and darn good QB.

Rather have him miss the start instead of the end of the season. Let's just hope he comes back healthy and ready to roll. If he lights it up all will be forgotten.

Do we have a diagnosis?  I mean, this injury is more mysterious than where they buried Jimmy Hoffa.  I still haven't heard.

Well, its not really a requirement that the public knows.

I for one am glad that we are starting to key our injury information much more internal. Really no upside to having everybody know.

I like this way of seeing it. I'm gonna see it this way too.

I think ultimately with a few outlier exceptions like Kindle (which btw, I don't think was his fault that he had that freak accident), Elam and Clayton, with Ozzie you do get what you invest in.

Whenever Perriman's knee does cure, we're still looking at a guy with the frame of an Andre Johnson but the straight-line speed of Chris Johnson. If we stay patient we may find later in the season that he was well worth the 1st round investment.

Where would the Ravens be if they had cut Jimmy Smith his first two years as a bust like everyone wanted.

He probably has 2 billion because he wouldn't spend a single dollar without a good reason and a good hope that it returns, let alone 1 million ;) So, it probably makes all the sense to spend this 1 million.

Well.. some impatient hotheads maybe... but I clearly don't remember masses demanding him get cut...

Hah, I guess we've had like 5 different diagnoses since he got injured... So, the question is rather what the injury is today...

Knowing Flacco would rather someone else do it, SSS or Jimmy Smith? Brandon Williams dance moves?

I guess Canty or Daryl Smith - or Yanda if it's the O - would be appropriate - but if you go for the show, Bandon Williams would definitely be my choice on the D, and Steve Smith on the O.

(Haha, Brandon could come out of the tunnel on his hands :D :D :D)

I do.

Okay, maybe not cut, but the "bust" word got used a LOT.

Not really mysterious - they originally thought it was just a bone bruise, but when the swelling went down enough for an MRI, they could see a PCL strain. He's most likely looking at a grade 1 or 2 sprain, and the bruise may be complicating the recovery (they're unpredictable). But, given the general time frame for a recovery from a grade 2 sprain, he's pretty much right on track.

While so many are questioning our rookie status... This isn't or hasn't been the first time a rookie hasn't started due to injuries... We need to keep remembering the Giants and Odell Beckham... and... Cutler and the Bears face similar issues this year. Their rookie wideout Kevin White (PUP-leg) debuts in a few weeks.

All indications are that White isn't expected to play at all this season.

I saw that after the fact....  ESPN had reported that as of Monday he was expected back in a couple of weeks...  then when I googled it, it came up about the surgery....  bummer for them.

But the point remains the same....  We aren't the only team that is facing not having our rookie wideout start the season.

I, for one, am glad Harbaugh has decided to get out of the "Return From Injury Prediction" game.  He no longer has any credibility.  When he says, "minor" or "not serious", I tend to automatically interpret it as just the opposite now anyway.

So please, Harbs.  Don't give us any more than "uncertains", or "we'll sees".

Can someone tell me when did Monroe get concussed? Have they singled out the specific play? Again, I ask why did Jacksonville dump him for so little? Give Hurst a chance to prove himself there.

Don't know exactly what play, but it happened during our first offensive series.

Really?

Let's just say Clayton is not going into the ring of honor anytime soon.

This guy has his own viewpoint as a former reciever. From my viewpoint we have never had a dominant reciever that demanded a pass first approach.

Perhaps . . . .  But with Boldin the saying with him was "when he's covered, he's open".  And he proved it through much of the 2012 season.
