Jeez, people... If the coaches want him on the roster, Renner will be back. The Ravens needed a spot on the PS to put there an emergency backup-of-the-backup OT. And a backup-of-thebackup QB is not at all a hot commodity, so there's a more than good chance of enner baing available later, when the emeregency situation at the O-line is over. They'll cut the odd-man-out and get Renner back... any time. He doesn't have to be on the PS all the time. He would only be needed if either Flacco or Schaub goes down - and if that happens, Renner can be called and signed back in a day (if Ozzie decides he is at the stage where they can go with him at clipholder rather than bringing in a free agent veteran..)

 

Why not one of the TE'S? While we have two vested veterans at QB, the "oldest" TE we have is Gillmore - ergo, there's a bigger chance of problems at TE than at QB.

The Ravens cut a promising up and coming young QB for a guy who's dossier reads like a coast to coast railroad conductor. Eight cities in seven years. Wow, well traveled. I'll miss Renner and maybe so will the Ravens. I'm scratching my head on this one, as like Torrey Smith.

Bryn, you are a promising young QB so keep the faith. Many a player in the NFL today took rides on the roster on/off roller coaster before they landed on a squad. Enjoyed watching you play and hope to see you back here with the Ravens in the future.

Not liking this move at all. With Schaub on a one year deal and heading toward retirement someday soon. I thought Renner can get a year's worth of training and experience and take over as backup next year but I guess there are negatives that the coaches and front office are not sharing with us other than inexperience. I would not be surprise if the Browns or any other team snatches him quickly. Wish Renner the best of luck.

I get it...this is life in the NFL. You keep the guys you pay big bucks to, but Renner outplayed Schaub by a long shot. Sucks for him, but we can't afford to gamble on him running the team if you know what was to happen to you know who. So I get it, but it really sucks for him. We have to get OL help so QB was basically excess.
