Week 2 Discussion (Other Teams)

The Andrew Luck backlash is coming. I feel bad for him, he seems like a genuinely nice guy and didn't ask for the press to slobber all over him. Never seeks out attention.

It's not his fault. People forget this is only his 4the year in the league and his GM has done absolutely NOTHING to help him. O line trash, run game garbage water and defense is a treadmill... cause you can run all over it you see. Secondary is nothing either if you take away Davis. This team would still be suck for Luck bad, if not for him.

The Jets had 13 takeaways all of last year. They have 10 in 2 games.

Luck, McCown and Manziel will help that number. Aldo when your defense doesn't give away TDS like Halloween candy...

Meanwhile in the AFC South......

"So this is what being first in the division feels like" - Jacksonville Jaguars

Weren't the Browns 1st in the North at one point last year? This is why I'm not stressing yet.

By like a half game for a few days. They were 6-3 while the rest of the division was 6-4 if I recall correctly.

0-2 is a bit different from that.

You play the QBs on your schedule...Carr to me is in the same caliber as McCown and Manziel honestly.

Some of those 0-2 teams are inevitably going to get into the playoffs, that 15% nonsense will be shot down easily this year. The question will be which ones do it? I hope we're one of them though my hopes aren't high.

I, personally, think Carr is better than he gets credit for. Not using it as an excuse. Also, Cooper runs crisp routes. They have to potential to be a very dangerous combo. That said, defense sucked.

As for the 0-2, it's still very early. This loss burns, but plenty of season left. Seems a little telling to me the team picked up another corner, especially with questions at WR and OLB.

1 last thing, I thought we were going to be more aggressive this season offensively? Stop waiting til the post season and that non sense. Now is as good a time as any to out it in Flacco's hands.

I remember them saying the same for defense too...

Carr isn't the worst QB ever but he's definitely not "good." Between him, a rookie, and a supposedly washed up Crabtree for the defense to be carved up like that was shameful. Another poster said that this Raiders team was the worst team we've ever lost to in the Harbaugh era and I might have to agree. Yes, even worse than that Jacksonville team in 2011.

The "going aggressive" in the playoffs usually entails Flacco taking a lot of deep shots. We simply don't have the personnel to do that right now. As for the trade, I feel like if there was a WR or OLB to be had, they'd jump (and they did sign Babin, who was presumably the best of the rest). They went for what they could get.

That Jags team was pretty bad. There was also the Titans in 11. And I don't think he takes that many deep shots in the post season. The intermediate passing game opens ups and we finally see routes over the middle. It seems the whole field is utizlized.

The AFC is a weird place this year.

The NFL is a weird place this year. You look at what is actually going on in the league. Jets were supposed to be a mess even with their defense and vying for a QB in next year's draft, but are 2-0. The Browns have decided to play this year and Manziel looks decent and they were another team that's supposed to be drafting a QB in next year's draft. The Eagles were hyped up after Chip Kelly's bold moves, yet 0-2. They made a big deal of the Lions trading for Ngata, yet are 0-2. The only thing that has gone the way it has supposed to through 2 games is the Bears being horrible.

That Jags team actually had a pretty respectable defense. I was considering that Titans team...but I still feel like the Raiders from yesterday are worse.

The Raiders from Sunday have only played two games, how can we know that they're a bad team, let alone that we're bad/good? It takes more than yanno... two games to decide that.

Luck throws 3 interceptions: "Luck isn't getting any help upfront tonight".

Yeah we all know what he would be saying if Joe threw 3 interceptions.

In Luck's defense, he's had like 26 different offensive lineman and the only one that didn't have more than four different starters since he joined the league in 2012 was LT with Costanzo

But also look at his weapons compared to ours.

Ty. Hilton

Andre Johnson

Two were draft picks, third rounders, and one came into the league with him.
