we don't need a WR

we need time in the pocket and a run game

we need a better corner than webb. Jimmy is great. Kyle is good. Webb is crap

I agree that WR may not be our biggest need and the OL is our biggest problem against Denver but one game doesn't make a trend. Let's revisit this next week.

it wasn't a bad game..it was a game where he didn't look like he could play..a bad game would be acceptable..it wa sa game where he didn't look like rick wagner on a bad day..he looked like a different player..in the worst way possible

So overall he had a bad game ?Good or great players have bad games or even terrible games it happens not every player can be consistently good  or great all the time.

if wagner has fallen off thats a big problem

the more i think of it if we were to make trades it would be for

a RT

or another CB as i think webb is DONE.

Funny just a few weeks ago we had exess at receiver and we could trade our guys to another team. Wonder what happened to that? Lol.

The OL leaked like a broken dam during a flash flood; Joe had no time. The first priority was to establish the run and they stuck with that plan.

You pretty much just said he had a bad day.  Looking like Rick Wagner/himself means he played well.  Not looking like Rick Wagner/himself means he didn't play well.  You would look into wasting a draft pick on a RT for one bad game.

I feel like trading for a WR would be really expensive for us. Don't know why we have issues with this position every year but if that's what we need to do for us for find someone reliable than I guess we have no choice.

I am just praying that BP isn't going to be a injury machine.

Well he can't have another game like that..that was putrid..

The O line is key..without it..its 2013 again with close losses.

It was against a VERY STOUT Denver Defense in WEEK 1

Only thing is, outside of injuries, we haven't had issues with it this year so far (ok and the SSS drop).  Many posts on this site point out that the o-line was the problem.  One featuring someone who rewatched the game on All 22 states how Marlon, for example, was open a lot and that Joe didn't have enough time to get the ball out.

I really don't get why WR is the focus with how the line played

I mean it kind of should still be a focus because if you think like me then you're concerned about the talent at that position going forward.

Its not an immediate focus because of how poorly the O line played, but I don't anticipate that will continue. And when they do play well, all eyes will again be on the receiving core, because they're still the big elephant in the room on this team.

Because that's the topic of this thread.

You want to talk OLine there's another thread for that.

It would be nice to have a guy that can stretch the field in Perriman's absence, but those guys aren't exactly readily available.  However, it's also only been 1 game.  There's no need to hit the panic button yet.  The offensive line faced a huge test and failed.  No WR is going to look that good when the QB is facing that much pressure.  It's not a trend yet, though, so we'll wait and see.

I don't think a trade would make sense. We have alot of WR's on the team. We just really needed some more protection for Flacco

and maybe throw some more WR's in the mix instead of using Smith and Aiken alot.

More Camp and everyone else. Maybe Waller with some speed.

Maxx Williams. Just need to play them and not rely on the vets

While we could use a proven WR, it's unlikely there is a WR out there we could trade for that would have a real positive impact. I have more faith in Wagner rebounding as he was stellar last season. Webb just doesn't have the recovery speed and quickness he used to. Instead of a trade, I could see Melvin moving past him if he continues to struggle.

Sadly, Webby was done after his second ACL.

Wouldn't even accomplish that...

You'd have to trade for a returner, a pass rusher, somebody to replace Webb, and a new LT. Then, for about five days, people would stop complaining.

Edit, according to Sami, we need a new RT as well.

No point in trading for one, cause according to him, we'll be finishing with a top 10 pick.  Then, we can draft a wr, olb, cb or lineman.

Everyone is always cryin that we get aging receivers so be happy there are three or four young prospects that could bust loose. You never know.

CB please.

Not trying to get OT, but I think the need is at OLB and that was before Suggs went down.  We're very thin at the position.  I think Melvin will develop well and with him we have solid depth.  If Jimmy goes down, we're not trading or signing, I think. Just moving guys up.  It also wouldn't surprise me if we went RB or WR.

So literally one week and we are throwing in the towel on Rick Wagner?

SMH

Looking at the replay..I thought Yanda struggled also. Nobody @oline had any sort of sync/flow to them. One guy fails an assignment, then another guy(screws up)the very next play. They weren't on the same page.

Most surprisingly, it was harder to watch the right side(Yanda &Wagner) then the left. I thought Hurst and KO handled the job better than the right.

Not sure why you copied me. The oline clearly got outplayed severely. It's just funny how quickly opinions are drastically changed. A few weeks ago we should trade some of our wr we have so much depth now let's go trade for someone.

Agree, OLB is a huge need. RB and WR are still unknowns as we have young guys that may fill.

Yeah, Jah Reid he held up against the best player in the league Sunday and probably gets the call against Von this week

You know how to hurt a fan.

That hurts, though I never bad mouth Jah.  I thought he was adequate.

OK....You've all convinced me........I'm going to the film room.

I am going to review the Bronco game, as painful as that may be.  When I get back tomorrow, I'll do so with an addendum.

we don't need a WR

we need time in the pocket and a run game

we need a better corner than webb. Jimmy is great. Kyle is good. Webb is crap

I'm off to the film room, but I don't believe Webby cost us that Bronco game in any manner. We shall see.

Perriman was a good draft pick even on his stretch the field function. He'll be fine when its time, but until then we do have a guy that can stretch the field on different planes.

Sadly, Webby was done after his second ACL.

Will get back on that tomorrow.
