WR Trade

With Perriman out and SSS being our only reliable target I think we should look to trade for a WR. Who would you look at?

I like Moncrief from the colts and patterson from the vikings

Patterson would be a pretty steep price considering he was a 1st round pick, maybe the Viks cut him in the summer but right now I wouldn't even trade a 3rd.

Moncrief is interesting, but how long will it take him to get adjusted to the offense? When Perriman returns, he'll be back to where he was with the Colts, a No.4 WR. I don't know about that.

I wouldn't rule out us drafting a WR early again, though I'd heavily bet we use a 2nd.

Moncrief actually had a good chance to start in The Colts next game with Ty Hilton probably being out due to injury in which may take time to heal.Andre Johnson reportedly didn't look good during his first game against The Bills and there's some speculation that he lost a step.

aiken and brown are annoying..because you know they are just number 3's at best even a 4..

smith isn't a number  1 anymore.

campanaro only played 11 snaps which is pretty dumb of trestman. He's a guy that clearly can get open better than brown and aiken.

as for a trade..patterson would basically be our younger jacoby jones..which is fine..it keeps defenses honest with safety help.

Zero chance the Colts trade one of the three WR they are building around.

Patterson is a total bust and would offer nothing. Worse WR than a Waller or Perriman would be right now.

I would say .01% chance of a WR trade. Because you never know if the Broncos will accidentally fax us the rights to sanders or Thomas.

boy i really wish we didn't play the broncos as a season opener.

last team i wanted to see.

if we lose vs oakland we are in deep trouble.. this isn't a division that you can afford to go 0-2.

if we lose and lose vs the bengals i hate to say it but the season is over..thats how harsh it is.

i did predict us being .500 going into the bye and doing a late season run for the playoffs, so 0-3 isnt far off. although that would be a tough hole to crawl out of.

At this point I question not the WRs but how they are were used/not used. Besides, I'm not sure how to evaluate WRs after the first game where Joe had so little time in the pocket and basically had to dodge rushers continuously, no solid run game, few to no quick release patterns to offset the pass rush. If they can't protect the QB any better Joe could get injured.

guys calm down, the Oline was the problem in denver game. if u give flacco more time he will find his target.

I dont think anyone is worried about Flacco. I couldn't see any qb working with the pressure Flacco had.

I'd certainly be open-minded to a trade but for whom? I've never been really sold on Aiken or Brown as our #2 WR but that's the situation in which we find ourselves. I do think Perriman has the potential to be that guy we've sought and I think Campanaro could be devastating but at this point it's hard to judge either due you dependability issues. It's too early to cast Perriman as injury prone, but the time he's been out is certainly concerning. With that said...

I'm all for making the team better. You can never have enough playmakers anywhere on the field. I can't see who we could get that would bring what we need to the team. Patterson has real issues catching the football. Lol I'm not sure anyone wants more of that. Momcrief?! Teams very very rarely trade draft picks after one year. I don't think the Colts want to weaken their WR depth and lose an eventual starter for their team.

I just don't see any options. I think the WR dilemma solves itself when the OL learns to block and Perriman gets healthy.

I think the ravens should take a look at Brandon Lloyd, he averaged 20+ yards per catch last year with the run oriented 49ers. Not to mention he was 3rd on the depth chart. He is listed as the best available deep threat WR. Also need to bring in Freeney or Babin, we need another pass rusher, even Ray Lewis mentioned this last night.

One game at a time. They just need to focus on Oakland now and move on to the future when it comes.

Other than catching the ball, running routes and giving 100% effort, Patterson is a great WR.  There is a reason he hasn't played more than 10 offensive snaps in a game since week 12 of last year.

Absolutely no on patterson.  Moncrief = Marlon.

If you want a solid receiver, get one with a lot of experience and proven record of productivity.   Money and age we can figure out.  Another dud in the 'sea of amateurs'...that we cannot handle.

Still think we have the receivers we need. We just have to get them on the field.  Perriman played no snaps. Campanaro played 11 snaps and Darren Waller played 21 snaps.

The only problem with Wallers snaps is that None were on Offense.

The OLine killed us.  Even Flacco's ball to Gilmore was released a tad early. It had to be.

Don't know with certainty how we overcome Suggs loss, but the Defense, for now at least, will have to rise to near the 2000 Defense.  We won that Championship with Defense and taking care of the football.  If Flacco doesn't throw that pick 6, I think we win that game with Defense.

I know we had a high quality running back, but it was Defense that carried us.

Trade Arthur Brown for Megatron.

Lions would be laughing at us over such a deal, they would easily be willing to throw Ansah in there as well

We did play potentially the best CB duo and pass rush in the league.

And it was week 1 with a new coordinator. Against a preseason favorite.

And we almost won.

But the SKY IS FALLING!

Can they give us Ngata back while they're at it? Not that we need him, but I'd like to see him back.

Let's not get carried away, we might have to throw a conditional 7th rounder in there if we want all 3 of those guys for Brown

Don't see a trade happening. We have a difference maker waiting in the wings with Perriman, why would we give up a draft pick so early in the season when we have a 1st round WR yet to hit the field. Probably won't be for another month or so but we will make it through that span just fine. Like others have pointed out the biggest issue in the Denver game was the OL getting beat like a drum (specifically Hurst on Ware). Best pass rushing team we will face all year, Ware and Miller with the Wade Philips blitz scheme behind them is a dangerous combination.

This is why I love having Ozzie as our GM, he makes smart moves like adding Babin but doesn't make knee jerk trades even when the whole fanbase is hitting the panic button at a certain position. Patience is a key trait of of any good GM, Ozzie is looking forward and sees Perriman being that difference maker and our team doing just fine until he's ready to return. That's what a wise GM would do in this situation, we were a drop away from beating Denver on the road, I don't think Ozzie is concerned about this next month or so without Perriman and rightfully so.

It's not fine. Patterson sucks as a wide receiver

Unfortunately I think next years draft goes , 1st - pass rusher,2nd - wr, 3rd - cb. I would have hoped for either a 1st wr or cb.

Deonte Thompson is a free agent. can return kicks and is a tick slower than perriman... gives us a deep threat on the edge and we know his hands aren't terrible... we could use him in Perrimans role for now.

i really just want a true deep threat that can keep defenses honest for now... i think it'll open a lot more up. you truly have to account for 4.3 speed.

had some other highlight catches from tyrod too...
