[News] What You Missed vs. Broncos

The OL didn't play well enough for us to win this game, but it's to Joe's credit that even though he was under Tremendous rush All game he still managed to give us two chances to win. One, SSS has to make his catch in the end zone on the last drive. And two, the ref has to call the Obvious PI by the defender that jumped up in Crockett Gilmore's face and knocked the ball out of his hands without even Pretending to look back for the ball. His back was to the play and ball and that should be called every time. Credit, of course, should go to the defense for keeping the game close by shutting down Peyton all day too.

Wasn't pass interference because the defender didn't hit Crockett until already when the ball was there. Face guarding is legal. Time to get over it and move on. We will bounce back against a struggling Oakland team.

I seen Brown was open on many plays. I seen another 4 quarter defense giving up yards that resulted in the nail in the coffin 3 points. You know if this went in OT the Ravens would win.

My main question is when is Perriman going to play???  I mean if we had a TRUE outside threat it might have forced the safeties to double team more which would allow the tight end to have a dramatic effect.  We need our #1 draft pick to get better and fast!!

The funny thing with that final play is that the OL stood up very well and Flacco had time and space but he still threw off his back foot. He had the room to step into it and lead Gilmore. I guess he was just accustomed to having no time so he panicked.

That is Joe's biggest problem, he has such a big arm he feels he can throw off of his back foot and get away with it and sometimes he does. He's not as accurate and it leads to most of his interception, poor technique.

I recall saying on these exact pages last year many times that they needed to KEEP Deonte Thompson at all costs! He has a skill set (true 4.3 speed) that cannot be replicated. You can get a big WR anywhere. Aiken is a dime a dozen. But if they kept Thompson, they'd have another guy to stretch. SMH.

The Ravens have tunnel vision when it come to the offensive line, if Flacco was truly an "ELITE" QB he would see the whole field and all the open receivers. You cannot afford to be zeroed in on one player who's doubled teamed then throw to that person instead of throwing to the ones who are wide open, you have to be able to see the whole field to be the elite QB. Now I also understand Flacco having no time to throw because of the breakdown of the offensive line. But when DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller are on your behind those guys are just hard to stop for they are exceptional players, so we truly have to have a major game plan for them and players on other teams like them if we can. But for Flacco to act like he was scared does nothing to help the team, you can't get scared, you accepted the money for the position, you call yourself elite prove it, for being elite is about being aggressive and taking a blow and not get scared get up and get the job done. For I've seen many QB's on different teams over the years take serious blow, and get up and win the game. But I'm telling you now, if it gets to the point where you get scared when you get hit hard, because this game is about hard knocks, you are in the wrong job, because the hits are not going to stop.

The throw to SSS should have been caught. The throw to Gilmore, while a little under thrown should have been caught as well. If you have both hands on the ball, you have to bring it in. He's bigger and stronger, you have to be aggressive. As far as Joe, when the pocket is collapsing that much you have to speed up your throws. The couple times the Line held up can't be anticipated. I thought Joe played about as well as his teammates allowed him to play. His first interception is on him. SSS could have fought more for the inside, but that's mostly on Joe. Defense looked great, ST looked great. But if we can't run the ball, were in for a long season, especially with receivers that can't get separation. Trestman better adjust, and fast.
