[News] What You Missed vs. Broncos

45 posts in this topic

Did anyone really "miss" Williams controlling the LOS or Flacco not getting enough time?

Also, based on the screen shot, it seems that Flacco made the right decision on the pass to Gilmore. Crockett didn't have a speed advantage on the safety, but he did have a height advantage, so if I had to bet on him either beating the safety to the back of the endzone or turning around and winning a jump ball, I would go with the latter every time. The defender just made a nice play.

From that angle you could really see if Flacco had put just a tad bit more on the ball Gilmore would have caught it for the win with that space behind him....

It seemed fairly obviously to me Crockett was being interfered with. It was a poor throw though.....a lot like the last one Flacco threw in the Patriots game last year.

With that kind of pressure on Joe you gotta go no huddle and stay in the shotgun! Should have "STAYED"

in three and four receiver sets to wear them down! Harbs gotta recognize these situations especially when walking into a meat grinder like sunday and "ESPECIALLY" when they visit the squeelers! O line will be alot better then but gotta wear them out!

If you listen to some of the fans you might think they missed those things.

I disagree Sami, I think both were good throws. Torrey have up on the throw in the playoff game because he was banged up from early in the game and he made only a token attempt to stop the defender from catching it. Gillmore here had the ball and it was to the right place (though it could have been a foot deeper), but he let it get taken from him. He is young and that is why people keep noting the youth of our tight ends despite the fact they are good. Gillmore will learn from that. Those throws are not on Joe though he will take the blame like a good leader does.

Flacco is not a rookie and by this time he should know how to handle pressure and they should have adjusted. This is as much a coaching debacle as I have ever seen. It still disgusts me! It was downright embarrassing. Ravens offense was the worst in entire league! ENTIRE LEAGUE. Everybody got that? There was no worse offense than the Baltimore Ravens playing on Sunday. Sugar coat it any way you want that fact remains the same. Can't change it and it is what it is. Red flags should have been up during Preseason but wait those games don't count. Despite such a poor showing we still could have won the game. Just think what could have been if we made adjustments? I thought Trestman was a smart guy? It's games like Sunday is the reason he's always getting fired. A few more of those and he will be leaving Baltimore too.

On the final play, Flacco put too much air on the ball. It either needed to be a tighter throw or led deeper into the endzone so other DB's couldn't get to it. Easy to say in hindsight. Brandon Williams was noticeably dominant. Where was the 2 TE look with some play action, that gives you the constant threat of run or pass? Our secondary looks phenomenal, minus Webb getting burned a few times in situations where the only thing you can't allow is the deep ball. Having Hill and Lewis back there is a huge. This team has quickly turned into a team that can let the defense and Tucker win games. We have played without Sizzle in the past, but that is definitely tough luck. Just take it one game at a time and turn it around Week 2.

it was a 50/50 ball and this time Denver won that battle with Crockett....Next time we might win that 50/50 ball....

Ironically our offensive line was supposed to be our strength. To be the best you have to beat the best. We failed miserably. What disappoints me the most is the higher expectations I had for this team this year. For once our offense was going to shine and light it up that's what I expected. As Vince Lombardi so eloquently said "What the Hell is going on out there"?

Flacco had no room to operate , there was already a defender ripping him down

No doubt about it- right now the offense is the weak link. Specifically- the WRs are the weak link on the offense. Steve Smith dropped the game winning TD pass that hit him in the hands, then bounced off his face. None of the other guys could get open because we have a bunch of inexperience behind Smith Sr and nobody to stretch the field. I'm hoping Darren Waller is an extremely quick learner and Marlon Brown gets a magical dose of quickness & agility before Sunday.

So today I hear that Ravens feel good cause Perriman looks good and is on schedule for October return. Last I checked that a quarter of the freaking season gone what does harbs and these people plan on starting 1-3, 0-4... they are so worried about replacing sizzle instead of letting Upshaw and Smith do the job, or maybe let Art Brown come on and be an extra blitz backer with his speed... That they totally ignore the lack of any talent on offense at WR. Then harbs goes and risks Smith sr injury more by sticking him at Returner.. Man its going to blow up in Harbs face and hes going to be gone. I feel like Billick and Boller all over again. Drafted another round of cornerstone Defenders,Jimmy Smith, Mosley, combo of Carl Davis,Brandon Williams/Jernigan, but yet this franchise has yet to evolve from the 1950s offensive mindset with a HOF qb in Joe Flacco and your limiting our game winning capability, We need more uptempo, more open offense let Joe be Joe..especially when its working and the run game is getting NOWHERE

still wondering why Flacco did not roll out to the right, occasionally- to buy some time (away from Ware); CAUTION: do NOT buy into the fact that 'we are only playing the Raiders and it will be easy'. We have been down THAT road way too many times. FACT: the last 2 played actual games, we were in the drivers seat to win the games- we lost both.... Look over the "lemon-law" re Perriman, or 'return to sender'...

No Doubt Williams is Ready, he was the best Draft pick of the 2013 season, brought here to replace Haloti, and probaly mentored by Ngata. Suggs is another issue, No player or group of players will replace his ability to disrupt opposing offenses who gameplan to shut him down, draw double teams to free up Doom, and fill his Veteran leadership role. I'm optimistic our D can be a top 5-10 D, but OZ and Harbs really need to fix this soon. And, the O line obviously need to give Joe a pocket to throw from and open up some lanes for Justin. Good news is, most teams we face don't have Ware and Miller up front and a head coach who basically designed our offense. No worries, just concerns that will be corrected.

"Flacco left the ball slightly underthrown, and he may have connected with Gillmore if he led the tight end in the back of the end zone". That is exactly what we all wanted. I posted that...I'm no coach but when you have a 6'5' TE You Do THAT...Thats how Gronk can Do damage. Hey Trestman, get bold. You have the talent. Put them in the right place. We could have had SSS in the front end zone and Gil in the back for a good Flacco single in line pass option :standcorner:

With all that arm Joe is under throwing everyone! Jacoby could never catch a ball in stride always had to turn around to catch it! Example Super Bowl! He tries to sling it instead of finding a release point or just get the timing down plus he throws it in the clouds making it easier to be picked off! Whenever a player doesn't perform well he gets benched, everyone but Joe! I think they need to lite a fire under his you know what! I like Joe but I'm just sayin the Ravens prolly would have beaten the pats with Tyrod that year Joe's leg was WRAPPED UP! SMH The Bill didn't hesitate on letting Tyrod start so why did the Ravens?! They won w/o Ray Ray, Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeed and now Siz so why not Joe?! Joe should be on notice "ESPECIALLY" after that very very very bad pass against the pats! Or whomever called that play need to be ran out of Bmore! They are go on a keep coming at him so the Ravens gotta go no huddle and stay in three and four receiver sets or just keep pointing fingers!

First of all lets hope Williams doesn't suffer a season ending injury Sunday. He is an up and coming star on the Ravens. I saw where they signed Jason Babin, a good signing, I think, but time will tell.

Ravens played one of their worst offensive games ever and still almost be a Superbowl contender on the road. Crocket catches the ball and the feeling is a lot different. The offensive line got dominated. It's that's simple. No need to question Joe as a QB, coaches, or front office. Raven got Jason Babin to add depth and pass rusher so let's see what the team can do.

I really wished we would've drafted an another speed or playmaking wr just in case perriman went down. It's frustrating because every year our front office does a excellent job of building our team but they leave one position thin or just think there gonna get by. Marlon brown is kool an runs decent routes but can't get open consistently. Aiken is kool but can't expect him to get open a lot. Campanaro is our best option outside of sss until perriman gets back. We really needed to add a back up playmaker in case perriman couldn't do it. We're gonna struggle against teams with good secondaries.

The OL didn't play well enough for us to win this game, but it's to Joe's credit that even though he was under Tremendous rush All game he still managed to give us two chances to win. One, SSS has to make his catch in the end zone on the last drive. And two, the ref has to call the Obvious PI by the defender that jumped up in Crockett Gilmore's face and knocked the ball out of his hands without even Pretending to look back for the ball. His back was to the play and ball and that should be called every time. Credit, of course, should go to the defense for keeping the game close by shutting down Peyton all day too.

Campanaro should be on the field more. He needs to get more snaps. Aiken and Brown just can't get separation consistently. Camp can. Play the man.

Agree totally with the PI, but not at all with the "poor throw" call. The pass was righting Gilmore's hands, as was the previous one in SSS's hands, then helmet. Despite unbelievable pressure All game, Joe Still gave us two chances to win.
