[News] Crockett Gillmore Hard On Himself After Missed Touchdown

41 posts in this topic

I'm just happy that Flacco survived that game. That d-line outplayed our o-line all day. Just two field goals is going to get an L every time in this league.

if we had the 2000 defense 2 FG's would a lot of games (just sayin')

I wish DVR were in back then. I would just watch those games when the Ravens start stinking it up. You almost felt sorry for teams coming here ..........almost.

The ball to Gilmore was underthrown by Flacco. Anther foot or two higher & we would have won the game.

uh no, it was a jump ball as it was.

another foot higher: it sails out the back of the end zone and we have 4th and long...

That wasnt a missed touchdown, that was pass interference, and its not Gillmore's fault.

you could say the same thing for Jimmy Smith's interception as well.

No if Gillmore hadn't of got his hands on the ball it would have hit the defender in the back of the helmet - because if you recall the defender wasn't playing the ball and didn't know to jump, Gillmore reached over the defender and that's when Stewart tipped it away.

obviously towards the end of the clip you can see Gillmore reach over the defender and catch it on his back

 ...ok.

dont see what that has to do with Crockett, but cool story.

after he.... (wait for it) JUMPED. because he had to.

because that was the only way you get your hands on that ball.

which was thrown pretty high specifically for the purpose of getting it over the top of that terrible safety who wasnt looking out for the ball.

because that's the way you take advantage of that situation. A defender with his back to the ball cant competently defend the pass. If he does defend the pass, it wont be legally. The airhead refs deciding not to call an easy textbook foul is a wild card that has nothing to do with Flacco's execution, which was flawless.

and stewart didnt tip anything, he just plucked it out of the air after the fouling safety knocked it away. Here's the still:

Stewart is the guy with the 26 on his back watching the play from the side. what play were you watching?

at any rate, i dont understand what you're trying to say here.

Not Gilmore's fault the Ref's stunk it up, it's called Face guarding aka Pass Interference! It was a horrible no call. Ref's should get fined for stupid crap like that, then maybe we could enjoy a "fair" Game. If you win or loose, do it with honesty and integrity, something the NFL Officials are low on.

How is a pass that Gillmore had both hands on uncatchable?

well since he had to turn around look behind himself and reach like Gumby for it......That's how.....didn't you see it?

That ball was pretty much in front of him. But yet in his post game interview, Gillmore blames himself for not making the catch. Go figure.

"I have to come down with that. I was given the opportunity and I just have to come up with the play," Gillmore said. "I have to win the one-on-one part of it, and then when the ball's in the air, it's got to be mine; there is no other option."
