What makes you think Waller would have been any better? Maybe - maybe not - but we cannot know that.

Can you be any worse than 1 catch for -1 yard?

But you're right... I think Waller has potential... but we don't know that yet.

My take is that Dean Pees should be given a Medal and control of this team....Clearly we have hired back matt cavenaugh(our new OC sux so bad)and harbs was out coached by kubiak...its time to start thinking new head coach people cause harbs decisions are really bad at best.....no screens no mixing it up to throw their D off.....nothing...Nothing............Raiders look like a lock to win next week as they actually scored an offensive td and we are still waiting on our coaches to call an actual play that will work!!...No td's thanks alot mr. elite......smh

some fans r going crazy here, its one game people, calm down.

its interesting to see if Ozzie will add anyone to the roster, or keep what we have. honestly, unless there's someone out there that's worth adding to the roster from PS or something, they may not add pass rusher, we mceclallan/upshaw/za'darius, these 3 guys can get the job done.

it will b interesting to see what the wizard of oz will do though.

Nobody should be surprised by Denver. I'm not. They got shutdowns on the outside and a safety that used to work for us.

everybody wants to be optimistic and see potential in these young dudes, but the fact is: we dont have anybody to throw the ball too.

we had a lack luster receiver competition full of UDFAs and practice squad journey men that yielded Smith Senior and a band of role players that cant be counted on for consistent production, especially if the line cant even hold up.

and its just our luck that once the FO finally invests some draft inventory in the offense, we end up taking a guy with some sort fo awkward knee disease that disables him for months at a time.

*shrugs*

we need better guys. end of story.

I still don't think we, either side, can take a lot from that game other than if you run Gary's offense you can defend it if you havea ggreat defense. What we can take is that Pees made good half time adjustments. Trestman is still working with this offense and either he or Harbaugh was slow to abandon the initial game plan. Either they didn't have anything new or creative planned or all the new stuff was based on giving Joe time in the pocket and Kubiak knew when the timing for that was likely to come (it was his offense). They will get it figured out.

The fact that the Ravens could've won the game is what hurts the most. In the back of my mind I and I'm sure others were, I was going to be ok if they lost this game. Denver has a hell of a defense as do the Ravens so I'm not too worried about the offense yet. Suggs out, Ngata gone, along with other players injured or gone Ravens Have to and Must Move Forward and show that they will NOT go down without a fight. Go Ravens!

We made it ugly.... we made it our game. We strive in adversity.... A game, a season we shine when the cards are stacked against us. Its time to shine!

My biggest problem with Pees is two times he had a three man rush and both times Denver had big gains and a first down. The only time a 3 man rush works is when the other team is inside their 30 and have to hail Mary it. Even then why not rush at least 4 and pout a little pressure on the QB. Ravens need to sign a veteran rusher - Freeney or Abraham . Even if they only go about 20 plays a game they have the rushing pedigree that will give our other defenders a chance on 2nd or 3rd and long to zone cover and also rush from the other side.

The "pay RBs and they disappear" theory has been debunked already...

Well I'm going to look on the bright side and say this is probably the worst the O will play all year, it was against one of the best D's in the league, in their house, and it's our new OC's first game. Our LT went out early, and our field stretching first round draft pick isn't on the field yet, but should be soon. Things will get better.

Suggs will lead from the sidelines. Hope he doesn't go out like this. We could use another true pass rusher, Freeney could be an option since Doom will draw the best tackle and the double teams now. Not sure 1 playmaker is what our offense needs. We collectively need our Wideouts, Tight ends and Running backs to do their job and move the ball as a unit. Last season was our best Offense in team history, and the best Playmaker is still on our roster...We need to improve as a group, get separation, not give up on routes and most of all The O line will need to open up lanes for Forsett and Allen and give Joe a pocket to throw to some of our very capable receivers...

On the D side, there's no "replacing" T-Sizzle, but hopefully we can patch the hole well enough to continue to harrass all but the best protected QB's, and our DB's looked alright last night. CJM is boss, and with Suggs out for the year, it is his opportunity to step up and be the captain of this D, because that is what everyone in the FO and the rest of us have in our mind's eye for the future for this kid.

Trying to move on and look ahead: Derek Carr is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his hand injury - so he very probably won't play against us next Sunday.

... which injury has since then re-evaluated as nothing more than a bruised finger, so now they say he could very well play against us.

Well, could I be worse than 1 catch for -1 yard ? I would be -20 yards, I guarantee that  :D :D :D

As for Waller and the other receivers: as I see it, the main problem wasn't that the receivers were bad, but that the O-line never gave him time to throw properly. Flacco needs time to throw, he was never an especially quick passer - that's why he always needed a better O-line. Last night he didn't have that. He could have Megatron and Boldin to throw to, to no avail, I'm afraid...

Ravens have the tenancies to make backup QB look like the second coming of Johnny U.

Didn't this only happen like once? What are the other examples of us making a backup QB look great?

I assume we're talking about Charlie Batch, who actually wasn't even that good in that game, and its been several years now...

I honestly am not in panic mode... Even without Suggs our defense will be great this year... Webb played well considering all the bad hype, he stayed with Thomas and Sanders consistently against arguably the best quarterback of all time... Jimmy obviously played well and Will Hill was a beast, mosely covered and blitzed and tackled well, Daryl Smith did his thing, Brandon Williams was an animal... And Timmy Jernigan will be back soon to help with the inside pass rush freeing up the outside, And Zadarius being a healthy scratch is based on his special teams contribution, not necessarily defense... As far as our offense, the Broncos have the best outside speed rush in the nfl and athletic linebackers to be able to fill the holes quicker... It is a tough match-up but I truly believe even without Perriman our offense will be great! and when Breshad does come back we will be even better...

I don't care if it's Carr or if Gannon comes back from retirement. If we don't crush the Raiders then I'm gonna shoot myself.

kirk cousins, jason campbell, josh mccown.

although not sure if you can really even count the last 2 as backups. and we didnt make them look like all stars but we let them all manage the game pretty damn effectively, plus charlie batch lol

not that it even matters bc this is a new year and new team but didnt we get beat by a 4th stringer last year near the end of the season? i cant remember his name. and we almost got beat by cleveland in week17.

when he rushes for 140 next week with 2 tds im sure you will flop right back and say hes gonna make the probowl. and look for a new head coach? the same coach who has more wins than anybody since 2008? the same coach who has gotten us to the playoffs almost every single year, and won in the playoffs each time? you have got to be the most wishy washy poster on this whole forum.
