Like I said in the game thread and the instant reaction thread. His injury looked exactly like you would see from a torn Achilles. He tried to get up on it and walk and realized he has no stability in his ankle. That is when you seen him stop, sit down and call for the cart.

That's a brutal loss for him and the defence. It's a huge setback in his Hall of Fame quest too.

This is my thought as well. He's older, coming back from a serious injury will be really difficult.

Agreed there. We're certainly very far from even considering throwing in the towel. Though that does put some pressure on Za'Darius Smith to avoid ending up on the inactive list next week. I wonder if there are any decent stop-gap options via FA.

Sucks but next man up. I had us looking at OLB in this coming draft and that definitely looks like a reality now.  

 

We're probably going to try to generate a pass rush by blitzing.  Hopefully whoever replaces him can do a somewhat adequate job of setting the edge. Getting Jernigan back will be good for this defense though.
