Lets keep it real, the Manning that didn't score a TD vs our defense looked horrible. If Sunday was any indication of Manning's play the rest of the year, Denver's defense is going to have to win quite a few games for them.

Don't think it could have something to do with our defense? Joe isnt that bad, defense got to him.... Same for Manning

Blowout win this week, I'd love it. Ugly win, I'll take it. Just win and get through this stretch of so many away games with enough wins to keep us at or near the top of our division.

We scored 6 pts on offense. We ran on 1st & 2nd down over 66% of the time.

These are valid concerns even though it is one week.

But against a stacked defense? Yeah it wasn't great but we shouldn't throw in the towel after one game.

Posted yesterday by a Raiders' fan on their forum.  LOL!!

The Ravens plane could crash on the way to Oakland and Bisciotti could assemble a team in time to beat this one.

And I don't think it helps with us living on the west coast for a couple weeks. Its a bad situation and we all saw it the moment they released the schedule. Still, got to find a way to come out of this 1-1.

I actually disagree with that. Suprisingly in this situation I think it will actually help us. Coming off a loss with a bad taste in our mouth and actually getting to stick with each other out there for a week will help build comradery instead of having to go home and seperate to stew on the loss for a week. For some reason I actually think this makes us stronger as a team and works in our favor.

I'm hoping we dominate this game, but I'll take a win of any kind to rebound from Week 1. The Raiders might be playing extra hard after dropping their first game, so it's especially important not to underestimate them. I don't feel good about playing in Pittsburgh in Week 4, so I think it's crucial to win these next two games against the Raiders and Bengals. I'm confident we'll pull through somehow or another.

Agreed! they're practicing together, living together, and hanging out together for 9 days.  IMO, this will bring them closer as an overall unit.

Plus it's likely insulated them (somewhat) from criticism over the offensive performance in the last game from the local media.  And hounding questions about Suggs' injury and how we'll be able to replace his productivity.

Adjusting to the different time zones 4 times in 9 days is something which could get players a bit out of sync with routines and internal time clocks. It is definitely worth weighing when deciding pro and con factors for staying on the west coast. Plus the travel time and settling in twice rather than once may be a good thing. I think the silver lining is the time spent together after a tough loss and the loss of Suggs. Hindsight may prove me wrong but I would have made the same decision to stay put on the west coast and focus on football with no distractions or additional inconveniences.

Buck played well last week but where does he fit in with Tali coming back?  I'd like to see both of them get work somehow

Tali compliments Forsett better than Buck besides Tali also  was looking like the better back during preseason for the number 2 spot. I honestly think it's quite possible Tali would have been helpful during those inside runs against The Broncos since he's a power running back.

Oh not throwing in the towel - it is only one game.

Just clarifying that those concerned have valid points. Hopefully it is not indicative of the season.

Hill graded out as the NFL's top safety in Week 1 by @PFF. I didn't even notice that he was playing aside from the couple fake blitzes he did.

when did they discuss this?

On First Take yesterday.

He must be feeling sorry for his sparring partner (Suggs)

He is. He basically said that yesterday.

Bayless has started hating us less over the past year or so..

I think the eagles are his number one target and he doesn't like the bengals much

I've noticed that as well. Stephen A. doesn't like the Bengals.....at all.

Not surprised at all. However, I was saying that about Lewis as well.

just want see improvments by the offense:

  1. passes down field  maybe to waller/aiken/brown whom ever
  2. good protection for joe slinger.

Seriously, these bandwagoneers haven't mentioned ONCE about how we kept Manning from scoring a TD..yet again.

And both times the Ravens kept Manning from the end zone the Ravens lost. So, from a team perspective it didn't matter since the offense was inept those two games, not scoring enough points to overcome what Manning and his team's produced.

Can't wait to hear the stories that come from this trip on America's Game.

The pack guys made to make it back to Santa Clara and eat at the same restaurant for the Super Bowl. How Trestman got to spend so much time bonding with his players it sped up the comfort level. How the oline had a oline only meeting in a room. How Suggs could have gone home after the injury but he stayed with the team and guys just really rallied around him.

Any one of these stories will do.

I'm just saying, it's a loss. But it's not all bad.

Going into Denver and doing that is something to build on.

wrong. We lost a very close game to a very good team in their home, we have no hope.

Good point. I hope you are right. Perhaps it is better than flying back and forth between other road games that are half way across the country.

No matter how you slice it, I'm ready for them to get a win here and come on home. I'm sure they are too.

He had a couple tackles for loss.  He was excellent in run support.

It appears that Carr is a go for the game. It matters not. Stuff the run. Jimmy takes away Cooper. Passing downs we mix in well disguised blitzes ... if those were keeping Peyton off balance, the should shake Carr as well.

The key, of course, is that the o line get off the deck after a miserable game and allow us to run the football and protect Joe.

Quote from Justin Forsett

"On what is has been like to prepare in California for the Raiders: “It has been great. It’s great for team camaraderie, just getting to know your teammates more, going out, hanging out, going to dinner. It has been a great experience. We’ve been loving the Bay. Of course, I played college football out here, so it’s good to be back.”
