Hayden being out is a blessing in disguise for that Raiders team. He has been absolutely terrible for them. You can pick out badly managed teams when they feel the need to throw guys on the field just because of where they were drafted. Hayden shouldn't be starting on any team, let alone the Raiders.

I wouldn't complain if we made a trade using anything below a 3rd round pick. It's OBVIOUS that we need a good WR. Giants already have OBJ, think they'd mind lending us Victor Cruz?...

I'm not sure The Giants are willing to give up their second best wide out whom actually is making 6 million this year which is probably too much for The Ravens to handle cap wise. Cruz is also dealing with a injury and it's not even clear if he will ever be the same player like he was in the past.  I honestly don't think The Ravens need to trade for another receiver at the moment but they could try to add Jeremy Ross to the active roster at some point.

Andy Dalton carved the Oakland defense up. If we can't put up points here - I will be seriously concerned.

Andy Dalton had amazing weapons on offense. Several. We don't even have one.

This is a game we can and should win. I think we will, but I don't think I'll be fully satisfied if the win isn't a dominant one. I don't necessarily mean putting up 50 or even 40 points, I just want to see them control the game. This isn't me looking passed the Raiders or thinking this will be a cake walk. I know it won't be easy, I just want them to make it look easy. I won't be mad if we win any other way and I'm prepared for different outcomes, but I'm just being honest.

Both starting safeties for Oakland are out as well - Charles Woodson and Nate Allen. If the offense doesn't explode on the raiders and demolish them, I will have serious worries.

I expect a beat down in Oakland but it will do little to calm nerves around here. Once we beat the Steelers people will brighten up again. As for Perriman people need to be patient, I think he will go the OBJ route from last year and return week 5, just a hunch

So theres at least 20 more ''blessed'' days until he's probably going to have a reasonable shot of playing.

wasted pick..didnt like the pick anyway but now it's just compounded.

I understand the frustration, but no one could've predicted such an unfortunate injury on the first day of camp.

If it hadn't happened, and the O-line didn't disintegrate against Denver, he could potentially have burned Denver deep all day.

However, I do enjoy your commentaries on Breshad's "blessed"-attitude regarding his injury - pretty funny in an ironic way. There's nothing blessed about it though. Some time ago I said I expected him back between week 4-8. Despite being criticized for the prediction then, it's looking more and more likely by the day.

Bit of a bummer, but let's hope for an OBJ'ish cinderella story!

Sort of like Baltimore hanging onto Elam... and starting him in stubborn fashion?

Interesting prediction, heres a thought:  Im not too worried any more honestly.  After watching sunday and seeing how well our defense played (i know we lost suggs) and we were playing on of the top defenses in the league, im confident that we dont need BP back asap.  Yes, we do need to stretch the field and thats why i think Waller has to be used at least a little bit.  If we actually do use waller to stretch the field and when we do get BP back, thats just one more weapon with no tape out on our system with him in it.  Hell, maybe even waller steps up big.  I know im being optimistic, but its better than being a negative ned.

I'm with you, defense looked good. If they can continue to improve and gel throughout the season that side of the ball is in great condition.

With regards to the deep threat, Flacco needs time for those routes to develop - time he didn't have against Denver so that was kind of a mute point in that game imo. O-line has to ball out like we expect them to - that get's the run game going which in turn opens up the passing game. I believe Smitty and Gillmore will have good years + Camp and Marlon also showed a little Sunday evening.

It all starts with protection for Flacco, it wasn't due to a lack of offensive playmakers this game imo.

This might be me being too much of a fan and not too smart when it comes to actually play calls, but when Joe is being pressured liked that, instead of making him take 3-5 step drop backs or what ever he was taking, why couldnt ( or didnt) we just switch to shotgun with a rb to his side?  We still could of ran the ball like that but at least Joe could of seen the field for another 2 seconds, maybe.

It's a two edged blade. If you just let him sit on the bench you are not even giving him the chance to develop and we had a pretty terrible safety situation last year outside of Will Hill so it wasn't much of a stretch to start him anyway.

After watching the Falcons/Eagles game last night it really makes me wonder why we do not try and run some of the plays both teams did.  The Falcons on numerous occasions saw a blitz was coming and had Ryan quickly throw a slant to Jones and he gained 10+ yards each time.  Ryan did not even do a full 3 step drop back, he took one step back and quickly threw the ball.  Flacco and Steve Smith or Campanaro could do this all day with their quick feet and speed.  I would love to see more quick passes by our offense, especially when the defense is playing zone or off coverage man.  We will need these types of plays when we face good defenses like St Louis, Arizona and Seattle.

Trestman could have experimentet with more adjustments just like you're saying. Quick screens and dump-off's could also have been mixed in to get the ball out quicker.

No huddle could maybe have gassed there rush to the point where it would be more manageable. But I'm no X's and O's guy, I'd like to think they hired Marc because they wanted to and because they think he's the man for the job.

Cruz is as feeble as Webb is. Glass cannons and not what they use to be.

Yeah, all Waller did was disregard the notion that he couldn't run routes and actually run many short and intermediate routes, consistently show improvement, show the ability to use his frame to box out defenders, show good hands, actual get separation (against 2nd and 3rd stringers before it's mentioned).  He didn't do much at all....unless you were actually paying attention to him.  And no, this is not me anointing him as the next HoF candidate (since people here can't differentiate giving credit and proclaiming and all-star).

I must have missed what y'all saw.  Webb was beat all night.  Committed a bad penalty because he was beat.  Spent most of the night chasing Sanders and was lucky Peyton threw off target a few times.  Webb was rightly abused last night but thankfully the front 7 got enough pressure on Peyton to mask it.

Webb did get beat on that play but what he did was save the play from being a scoring play.  I would have done that as well. I think he got beat off of the line if i am thinking of the same play so what choice did he have but slow him down and save it from being a scoring drive.

I wouldn't write Raiders off boys, they've been looking sharp lately......

They have excellent toilet facilities too, but that's a different story.

Perriman having a timetable is great news. I hope he can make it to that Steelers game, though unlikely he will do that. Still October is surely fine, hopefully we can go 2-2 during that stretch.

This is very valid! I think many wondered the same which is why I questioned play calling, as did others. I think the OC had a script/plan that he wanted to cover.

We kinda avoided Chris Harris Jr. all game. I've seen him get beat a bit on slants before but the guy is soooo good. Same with Talib.

Im wondering why we didn't allow our TEs to attack more. We should have went after Denvers Linebackers. Especially when blitzing, I know Dink-Dunk is boring but thats what you gatta do when going against sick blitzes.

It seems the strategy was to establish the run and use it to slow down the rush but the run never took hold.

I really didn't see any difference from Trestman playcalling and Gary Kubiak play calling. The same stuff fans complained about concerning Trestman is the same stuff fans complained about when Gary Kubiak was here. Kubiak is a good offensive coordinator and so is Trestman.

People love to complain on here when we don't score 50 points every game.
