Who to start, Who To sit

Funny you say that ... After C.J. took that beating against us, had a short week and was playing another stout run D, I knew I couldn't start him, so I went with Abdullah.

It paid off ... Abdullah got 4.5 and C.J. got 3.5 ...

Kinda bummed with CJ. He fell to me in two of my leagues. None of my running backs have put up big numbers. Forsett, Hyde, CJ.

But I do have Todd Gurley, hope he jumps in as a starter and produces. I have TJ Yeldon too for Jags.

Starting him this week with Forsett over Hyde and CJ. Smart or dumb? Lol

It is kind of a do or die weekend for C. J. I'd say I'm playing him for that reason, but really the reason is - I have no choices.

To be fair to Hyde, he did leave the Pittsburgh game due to the concussion and he was the highest scoring RB in week 1, so I wouldn't place Hyde on the list on non-producers. I think he has a bright future so long as he stays healthy.

Who should I start this weekend between Bennett or Crockett Gilmore.

Bennett has Clausen throwing him the rock vs. Seattle and you know about Gilmore.

I'd probably roll with Bennett.

I've picked up Dion Lewis and I have a soft spot for him, but how far can I trust the Patriots? I have Lewis, Alfred Morris, Steve Smith Sr. and Keenan Allen. I need to sit at least one of the four. Thoughts?

That's a tough call.  I think Dion Lewis is going to have another good week.  I think it could come down to SSS and Alfred Morris.  The Giants have one of the better run defense as they are allowing on average 68 yards.  I'd be betting on SSS to have a good day and Moirris to have an avg day.  I think Matt Jones will fair better with against the Giants this week.

I tried to bench Morris but the page froze. Would've definitely went with the advice. Didn't know the Giants were so good in run defense.

It has 3 but I'm playing against a cap. So it's between them two. It's not for money, I play weekly free head to heads on fanduel

I'm all in on Brown this week and nearly every week. He's the most consistent wr in the league. I have lynch and Seattle D in almost every lineup this week. Crocket Gilmore for the minimum won me cash last week.

hoping you went with sitting with Morris as he did nothing.

PPR league - Keenan Allen (vs Min) or John Brown (vs 49ers)?

And Eifert or Gillmore?

two pretty tough decisions there, but I would go with Allen over Brown and Eifert over Gillmore.

In a .5 PPR league ... RBs on my roster are a disaster. Got C.J. Anderson, Lamar Miller, Ameer Abdullah and Dion Lewis and need to start 2 of these 4. Leaning toward C.J. and Lewis.

I feel like I've got to roll with C.J. because it is do or die time. If he performs poorly this week, I think he loses out to Hillman (who I have as a handcuff). I haven't given up on Miller, but he's hurt and going against the Bills. Abdullah is going against the Broncos and Stafford is dinged up and they collectively looked horrid last week. I'm not thrilled by any stretch to be rolling with Lewis, but vs. Jags, might be my best bet.

Basically going with an RB2 and RB3 as an RB1 and RB2 ... but that's my roster ...

I'd agree with you. I'd probably roll with Anderson and Lewis. I'm afraid that LeGarrette Blount could be more involved this week and there have been recent reports stating the same thought. Fortunately for Lewis, the Patriots went five wide on several occasions in these past few weeks with Dion Lewis on the outside in order to give him the ball in space, so I'm counting on 4+ targets, and they haven't benched him after the fumbles like they did Stevan Ridley so it looks like they're willing to lean on him. He's looked very good thus far. Denver doesn't rank in the elite category as far as stats go and Jamaal Charles did end up breaking off several good runs. That being said, their defense is still among the best and we've seen firsthand what they can do to a running game. It's tough to gauge Abdullah's floor this week given that he's on time-share and facing a very good defense. He'd get consideration over Miller in my eyes. Tough to trust Miller this week.

Yeah - Miller is the clear choice to sit. It was really between Lewis and Abdullah. Week to week, it is going to be tough to gauge which one of those to roll with. That's why I desperately need for Anderson and Miller to start playing to potential. I mean, I drafted them in the 2nd and 3rd fer crying out loud.

I am only selecting 2 of the group, because that's all I'm required to start. I don't know if I'll ever put any of these RBs into my flex over my WRs, cause my WR group is solid.

Agreed there. It'd be an easier choice if they weren't competing with bruising backs who could especially vulture away goal line looks. That is tough. I feel for you. I would've went with Anderson if I was selecting at the bottom of the order.

That's fair. Who are the WRs if you don't mind me asking?

Am I crazy to start Lance Dunbar over Jeremy Hill in a PPR league? Hill hasn't really done much, bad match-up. Atlanta allows check downs for days. Somebody tell me I am being insane.

I could see why you're considering it. Dunbar is their best receiving back and he did see half of his targets from Brandon Weeden so the change at quarterback may not have a notable negative effect on him. Atlanta has also been gashed on the underneath throws. It's shown up in the stat sheet as they've allowed at least 10 receptions to RBs in their first two games and both of the main options in Darren Sproles and Shane Vereen topped 7 catches and 75 yards. Dallas doesn't have much to stretch the field so they could dunk and dunk. There's a real possibility that Dunbar comes away with 5 catches for 50+ yards. It all depends on whether you'd expect Hill to sniff the goal line this week. He could have a slight bounce back, though not unless he has issues with ball security again or if Giovanni Bernard gets it going.

WR #1 - Julio, who I was THRILLED to get 11th overall. WR #2 Jarvis Landry (my league also counts return yds) WR#3 Amari Cooper and WR# 4 SSS. I'm only carrying 4, because my roster is dominated with marginal RBs and I'm waiting to see who emerges.

I will normally have Cooper over SSS, but that can be situational. I had SSS in last week, which I thought was a good play, because I thought for sure Jimmy was going to shut Amari down. After the first series, of course, I was questioning that move!

SSS out-did Cooper in the receptions (.5 PPR league) and yardage, but Cooper found the end zone, so that was a wash. SSS will be a good option for rolling in on bye weeks and other cases where Amari may unfavorable match-ups.

I am usually good with drafting and not reaching for Ravens or other players that I "like". What I'm not as good at is drafting guys who are best available who I can't stomach having on my team. I had Brady available to me in the 8th and I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I'd be a much, much better team had I held my nose and taken him. Instead, I went way late on QBs and have Bradford and Bridgewater. That, naturally has me a bit nervous.

Definitely would've loved to get my hands on Jones. Good get. Solid group. How many other teams were you drafting with? Agreed on Cooper and Smith Sr., especially while Breshad Perriman is on the sidelines. With regards to your following post, it'd be terrific if we could avoid the players we aren't fans of, but unfortunately it's part of the game. Brady isn't my favorite player, but I wouldn't have thought twice about pulling the trigger. He would've provided immense value there and is a sizable upgrade over Bridgewater and Bradford. I feel like it's somewhat self-defeating to avoid drafting players you know provide the best value at whatever spot you're drafting.

Its a 12 team league. I know ... had I selected Brady, I'd be 2-0 instead of 1-1 and I would have out and away more points than anyone else in the league. I should hold my nose, make the pick, then hope to win my week, in spite of what i hope is a terrible performance from my QB ... and when that doesn't happen, just consider it a consolation prize.

Don't worry. I'm in the same boat to a smaller extent. Had the chance to start either Denver's defense or Baltimore's and I lost by just under 22 points. The former topped 21 points, the latter came in at a -1, so I'm sitting at 1-1 as well. Exactly that. Didn't help that both Eddie Lacy and Carlos Hyde were out before half-time.

With Eddie Lacy questionable I'm not sure whether to risk him or start either T.J Yeldon or Melvin Gordon in his place.
