Who to start, Who To sit

324 posts in this topic

Keeping in mind that I know that these are all awful options but my team was decimated by injuries haha BUT

I can start two of these guys at RB, who do I go with:

Jeremy Langford vs. Washington

Tim Hightower vs. Tampa Bay

Spencer Ware vs. San Diego

James White vs. Houston

Latavius Murray vs. Denver

?

that's a tough decision between white and Buck playing Seattle. I literally have no idea what I would do in that situation. Well the purple blood in me would probably roll with buck. I'm also facing a tough matchup this week against Tom Brady.

Yeah - I went based simply on the likelihood of a lot more volume touches for Allen. Of course that may not matter if he can't get anywhere when given the ball.

I'm absolutely kickin myself for not goin with fitz. 3 tds and 200 yards at the half. He's been on fire the past few weeks. Ever since he shaved that damn beard lol.

Is the Seattle backfield giving anyone else headaches? I picked up both Bryce Brown and Tim Hightower because I'm not confident in Shaun Draughn as a flex against the Bengals and was hoping to roll with Brown, but their signing Christine Michael has obviously created the big dilemma for leagues everywhere. Normally that's the kind of cloudy backfield I won't touch with a 10-foot barge pole, but Seattle's such a valuable backfield to monitor and the Browns are so crap against the run that I think it's worth at least a look in.

Need 2

Brandon Marshall @ Dallas

Antonio Brown v. Denver

Allen Robinson v. Atlanta

I'm leaning towards Brown and Robinson. Already starting D. Hopkins as my third.

I've sat Marshall for the last two weeks and he made me look like a fool. My WRs are my best weapons, hard to choose. Lol

They're all facing pretty tough matchups, but I'd go with Marshall and Robinson. The Cowboys secondary has improved and all, but I'd prefer Marshall against Brandon Carr than Brown against Chris Harris.

yeah I was going to pick up Bryce brown but it seemed like there was a lot of uncertainly there. I tried to pick up denard Robinson since tj yeldon went down but somebody snatched him up right before me- so I just went ahead and picked up fozzy Whitaker with Stewart doubtful to play this weekend...not sure if I'm going to start him yet though.

Gotta pick 2 between:

Fozzy Whitaker against the Giants -Giovanni Bernard against the niners - James white against the Titans - or chanderick west against Us?

Kind of a logjam right now and need this playoff win. So I need 2 RB's, 2 WRs and a Flex. Oh and it's Non-PPR.

Gurley(already played him), McCoy and Forte

Odell, Allen Robinson, Alshon and Landry

I'm so torn between my receivers. Starting Allen Robinson, Brandon Marshall. Still need a third

Now its either Antonio Brown vs Denver or TJ Yates throwing to Hopkins against a Colts defense that gives up a lot of passing yards.

So, to get the ball rolling for the week: Russell Wilson (the hot hand v a tough stop unit in St Louis) or Kirk Cousins (who has a notably softer matchup but is also away from home)?

who is Kirk facing? I'd roll with the hot hand all day. Although cousins has been pretty hot himself, but Wilson is just gettin it done. Everybody keeps saying that eventually Baldwin is going to have a dud game - but until that happens I'm rolling with him regardless.those two have been setting the league on fire these last 4 weeks.

I'd say Wilson. The Rams defense can be picked apart and Wilson can definitely avoid the pass rush with his feet. Cousins is iffy away from home.

In the championship game and the guys that got me there probably won't start for me.

Yeldon has been out a week.

Gurley is up against the Seahawks defense.

So, I'll probably ride with two others backs.

I have the entire Jags backfield, Yeldon, Robinson, and Jonas Gray so I'll probably got with whoever starts in that one.

In Gurleys spot, it's either Ameer Abdullah or Bilal Powell?

Appreciate the input, I was leaning toward Wilson as it were. Philly's defence is rubbish, but Cousins' form away from home is kinda iffy. In a way I hope Baldwin has a dud, because my opponent has him.

None of those are amazing matchups, so I feel your pain there (I've got Dez out of form, Fitz on a tough matchup, Cooks with Brees possibly out and Wheaton who's a third target). Personally I'd probably ride the matchup with Abdullah against a soft SF front (I considered Powell last week as an upside play against Dallas, but wouldn't touch him this time). And obviously just live on the Rotoworld page to see who gets the run for Jacksonville.

A few questions. I'm in my championship game this week (with $200 on the line), so I'm a questioning my whole lineup it seems lol.

QB (pick 2):

Brady vs. NYJ, Palmer vs GB (and he's questionable), Rivers vs OAK (tonight).

Was gonna go with Brady and Palmer. But Palmer being questionable worries me, especially considering that the Cardinals are already in the playoffs, and might just sit him.

WR (pick 3):

Travis Benjamin vs KC

Brandon LaFell vs NYJ (he's questionable)

Malcom Floyd vs OAK

Aiken vs PIT

Doug Baldwin vs STL (questionable as well)

Was gonna go with Baldwin, Aiken, and Benjamin here. Baldwin has been absolutely on fire the last 4 weeks. Aiken is our only weapon it seems, and Benjamin because he is the only other good option i have. Don't like LaFell against Revis or Cromartie.

And finally RB:

Jeremy Hill vs DEN or Rashad Jennings vs MIN

Was going with Hill here, cause he's usually good for a TD or 2, but faces the tough Denver defense this week. So i could go either way here.

I'm rolling with Abdullah myself. He's starting to heat up and San Fran has given up alottttt of rush yards. He just needs to hold on to the damn ball.

For QBs I'd go Palmer and Rivers (I know it's a bit late on Rivers, but I'm a little dubious about Brady's upside this week with a revenge clash for the Jets and Edelman and possibly Amendola out).

For WR I would have gone with Floyd, Aiken and Baldwin. But if you benched Floyd you could do worse than Benjamin.

Finally, I'd probably roll with Hill over Jennings. I know the Broncos are tough, though the Vikings are actually better at fantasy scoring against RBs (ie, the Vikings leak fewer points) and have Linval Joseph back. Meanwhile, the Bengals will no doubt give McCarron the rookie treatment and run the ball a lot - and I'd expect that game to be fairly tight so the running game of both sides will probably be more prominent (as much as the Bengals suck on primetime).

Really don't want to play Ivory in my championship--especially against NE--but kind of feel like I have to.

Should I go with Ivory, Powell or Artis-Payne?

Rest of my lineup is as follows:

Cam

Forte

A Brown

Julio

Olsen

Landry

Lions D

Walsh

I'd be really tempted by Artis-Payne. Like you say, NE is a tough matchup (and it's a tough backfield in NY) while the Falcons are just the opposite. That and I can see Carolina getting ahead fairly early and just running down the clock. Tough call for sure.

What about Artis-Payne v Devonta Freeman? (that dilemma's mine, haha)

b marsh, fitz ...( looks like Baldwin might no go) white and C.A.M and flex forte I suppose.

I gotta pick between Ameer Abdullah vs. San Fran or Jerick McKinnon ( if Adrian Peterson doesn't go) vs. the Giants.

And

Will Tye vs Minnesota or Zach Miller vs, Tampa ?

Unless you hear definitively before the Lions kick-off that Peterson's out, I'd use Ameer. I'm not convinced McKinnon would get the same kinda production as Peterson (and the Vikings could easily air it out if Peterson doesn't play), and gambling on the game-time health of Peterson seems risky.

Miller's the hot hand atm (and the Bucs' tough front seven means the Bears will probably pass more), while the Vikings have Harrison Smith and Anthony Barr back.

Marshall and Baldwin are probably the guys with the best matchups, but if Baldwin does miss the game I guess it's a gamble of the safe-ish (but not amazing) floor and low ceiling of Fitz vs the possibility of Julio beating Norman in the rematch.

For the RBs, Forte's a risk against a stout Bucs front but it looks like he's back to being the lead guy in that backfield. Artis-Payne's got a great matchup and I could see the Panthers pulling ahead early and doing a lot of running down the clock. I wouldn't touch that NE backfield and Buck v the Steelers gives me the jitters with how quickly Harbaugh pulled him last week.

As the flex, if Baldwin plays then your decision between Fitz and Julio becomes the flex call. If he doesn't play I guess you roll with the other, unless you're confident in White getting a lot of usage (with Iosefa, Bolden and now Jackson in the same backfield).

That's where I was leaning. I don't think the Falcons get shut out twice and iirc the Giants had some success with the underneath plays last week.

Fwiw it looks like Powell is getting some love as a starter. I guess it depends on how you think the game pans out, but I'd be surprised if it were the shootout some are expecting.

Who'd call me crazy if I started Cousins over Brady in the championship game? Lol

I could at least see where you're coming from, but you have to back Brady at this stage (as much as I hope he fails because my opponent has him).
