[News] Eisenberg: Gary Kubiak Will Bring The Heat Against Joe Flacco

46 posts in this topic

Great insight.  I was 7 years old in 1998 which explains my lack of knowledge pertaining to that. But actually Manning won the last game 2 seasons ago.

You're correct. The link shows games only up till 12/16/2012 which I did not noticed at first. We played two more games after that, a win on 1/12/2013 (Miracle Mile High) and Ravens lost on 9/5/2013 so we are 10-3 against Manning, hopefully we win #4 tomorrow. Thanks Ravensfansince03 for pointing that out, much appreciated. Go Ravens!

By the way, I remember the first Manning vs Ravens game well cause us older generations still hated the Colts for moving at the time (Have gotten over it since our first Super Bowl), Poor guy, he had the misfortune to play for the Colts as a QB when the Colts arrived in Baltimore for the first time since the move. I was 38 years old at the time. lol :)

Wow!. I respect you, feels good to chat with someone with a lot more experience/time as a Ravens fan. But yea I was 12 years old and the first NFL game I sat and watched by myself was a Monday night ravens game against the Chiefs. I remember they had Ray Lewis mic'd up and I just fell in love with him and the team. I started following the team after that and its been Ravens ever since and will always be Ravens. I just hope the this team stays here forever.

We lost two starting OTs for the year in the Texans game and were missing out LT in the Colts game. Part of the reason we struggled /w pressure is because Yanda was playing RT and rookie UDFA Hurst was playing LT. However, it is a real concern that Denver has an intimidating pass rush and good secondary (especially Talib for jamming at the line on a blitz). Hopefully our receiving corps can step up--and a say receiving corps because running 2-TE sets may help with the check-downs, especially if we can't establish the running game.

Not the first time Flacco has faced Demarcus Ware. I remember years ago when we played the Cowboys at their last stadium for their last game. They actually chose us to be their opponent thinking they would get a celebratory win. I remember the Cowboys had a beast defensive line back then and Flacco took some violent hits. But we ended up winning in Ravens fashion. Willis Mcgahee & Le'ron McClain had back to back long runs for the TD. Im not afraid of the Broncos pass rush with the weapons Flacco has, especially our TE group. Our TE group will be the difference between our success and failure this season. And by the looks, we will be successful.

I agree completely. Too much noise was made about Perriman being out and how we are lacking weapons at WR that our TE positions were forgotten. Even with Perriman playing, we need our TEs to get sneaky once in awhile to keep defenses honest as well as simmer down all out rushing against Flacco. I thought I was the only one to feel that way, glad to see someone else looking at the bigger picture. I remember that Cowboys game too. I laughed seeing how disappointed Jerry Jones was when we ruined their party. Last win at Cowboy's old stadium ... priceless.

Thanks, I got another one for you, passing it down to next generation. One year before the Colts moved (1984), the Colts had the #1 pick in the 1983 NFL Draft. The Colts selected John Elway (Denver Broncos current GM) but Elway's father advise him not to play for the Colts. Elway threaten to leave football and play baseball for the Yankees when the Colts drafted him. He also wanted to play football on the west coast but the Colts, realizing Elway was serious, traded him to a colder climate (Denver) out of spite. Thus, beginning Baltimore's hatred of Elway after he was traded. The Broncos also selected another quarterback in the same 1983 NFL Draft and that was Gary Kubiak (Ravens OC last year). Now Elway and Kubiak are reunited together at Denver. So when you see negative comments from Ravens fans about Elway, you'll know it all started in 1983.

Within one year, we lost Elway as future franchise QB and Colts left town. I was around your age when it happened, tough blue collar grown men in tears that a football team in Baltimore for 30 years was gone. We don't feel ill will toward Colts anymore, that is long gone. We however will not forget what a spoiled brat Elway was in disrespecting the tradition of the NFL Draft in 1983, that was unforgivable, that is, till we won the Miracle Mile High which was so enjoyable to see Elway's reaction. It took 30 years for Karma to come back from Baltimore and bite him in his you know what. Now you understand the history. We older generations bleed purple today but we have not forgotten our roots. As for the Ravens, I am pretty sure you have nothing to worry about. We got a loyal owner from Severna Park and still lives in MD. Am sure Bisciotti and his family's future generations will keep it in Baltimore forever.

Absent Peyton Manning, they are just two teams!

If Joe Flacco is who you all say he is, then he will make Manning a "non-factor"! We shall see "E-Lite" or "Average" Joe tonite!  B)

Holy crap. You just opened my eyes to something I had no idea of. Wow, loss of words right now. I wonder if our current players like Suggs know that history aswell. But "wow" is all I can say.

I am pretty sure Suggs knows the history, after all, Johnny Unitas statue is next to Ray Lewis outside stadium. There were visits to Ravens practices over the years from former Colts players who refused to acknowledge Indianapolis because of a terrible, pushy, greedy owner we had back then, the same owner who got drunk one day and tried to run a football game from the coaching booth in the 2nd half of a lost to Eagles on Nov. 15, 1981. lol

I'm concerned that Webb will be gassed by the third quarter in that thin air...what kind of shape is he in after an inactive pre-season? Seems to me Joe Flacco will have to get us about 33 or more points to win this game.
