Week 1 - Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos

I can't stand when flacco floats it into the middle of the endzone. Surprised Gilmore got his hands on it. That pass has been picked off plenty of times before.

You mean like he did to Boldin about 3 times for TDs during our Super Bowl run? Yeah, I can't stand that.

I don't get the complaints about Joe's pass.  It was a perfect pass for the situation but Gillmore had a defender all over him and not looking for the ball.  and at that, that pass would have never happened if SSS catches the previous pass

It was actually a pretty good look for the TD.  Tough throw no doubt,  but I thought he gave Crockett a great shot at the ball and the DB made a great athletic play to go up and interrupt the pass.

I remember a very similar throw to Dennis Pitta in the past for a score. This throw made me miss him even more. I'll give Gilmore some slack in that it was a tough look with the defender face-guarding.

I'm disappointed because towards the end I was super hopeful and when you're excited that u may win and then don't it stings. But anyway we better not lose game 2 lol stay healthy and be ready next week!

Please if smith or Gilmore catch those passes , would you be complaining now .

Wouldn't of even mattered if it weren't for the pick six

Yeah dude stalled the hell out of our offense in Indy last year

Exactly. He made Björn Werner look like an All-Pro in that contest.

lol this guy

Nice rebuttal, lucid, informed, somewhat placating, refreshingly monosyllabic, and groundbreaking. Your Pulitzer is in the mail.

At least we did not get embarrassed today

Well, not if you look at the coreboard. But that didn't happen because we were so much better, but because the Broncos O was much, much poorer than two seasons ago. This L is probably gonna hurt a lot because I don't see the Broncis beating too many teams with this kind of offenive performance - especially with Manning presumably getting worse week by week...

Well, let's hope none of the injuries will prove to be too bad - although when Suggs need a cart to get in the locker room that doesn't necessarily mean too much good... - and that the Raiders are really as bad as they seem to be after their opening game. If - and that's not a small if - Trestman can find what was broken with the O-line today and fix it, it will look much better.

  I meant running it in.

With less than 40 seconds on the clock and 1 timeout, plus the not really stellar running production we had... I'm not sure that seemed a good idea.

In case you didn't notice Joe had 2 seconds to throw . Period

I get what your saying but it still would be nice to have better weapons than aiken, brown and whatever late rd or undrafted reciever.Even when joe got open the receivers for the most part couldn't get seperation.

Many of you were disappointed with Monroe and trashed Hurst. Demarcus Ware is one of the best rushing players in the NFL. There is not a single tackle in the NFL that could have contained Ware today. Ware is nearly unstoppable, even when two players are blocking him. Best plans against Ware are quick passes or run on opposite side.

After the camps and pre-season we had, I didn't have high expectations to begin with, and was still hugely disapponted.

If the O doesn't somehow find something - and soon - we're in for a 16 game season... The Broncos were about as good as the Browns usually are - and we still found a way to lose.

Total overreaction. They have one of the best defenses in football, best pass rushing duo in the NFL in Ware/Miller and two top 10 corners in Harris Jr/Talib. Then you consider we are missing Perriman and Monroe, it was Trestman's first real game with this offense/scheme, and we held an explosive Broncos offense to 12 points!

That is the best defense we will face all year and it came in a regular season opener on the road, cut them some slack. It was a tough loss but there is a lot to feel good about after this game. Our defense is nasty and the offense definitely has some work to do but they have a lot of potential, especially when Perriman comes back.

As painful as this loss was, have to give credit where it's due. These two defenses played an outstanding game. C.J. Anderson was routinely bottled up in the backfield, Demaryius Thomas was kept from making plays downfield. Ronnie Hillman flashed at times, but the only player who we consistently had difficulties with containing on key downs was Emmanuel Sanders. We'll have easier groups to deal with. If it wasn't Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware coming upfield on the edges, it was Brandon Marshall hounding our RBs.

We lacked the speed. We should of had waller out there, at least they would of Had to account for his speed. I'm not saying waller is going to be our number one or anything, but it's not like it could of hurt anything....

Suggs tore his achilles and is out for the year.

Disgusted. Suggs loves the game and loves being a Raven, really makes me feel for him. Upshaw is going to have to take over that spot opposite Doom and play lights out, it is a contract year for Up so he has a lot on his shoulders now.

Maybe, but I think if Allen could have broke for close to a 1st down and brought us inside the ten, it would have made Denver try to guess what was coming next.  But instead they pretty much knew we were going to pass.

It is so silly to be cheering for the Ravens one second and then trashing the team when they lose. True fans stick with the team through thick and thin. Disappointed, sure, but to get mean when the team loses? Where does that come from? Relax people, it is a long season. Encouragements, not disparagements is what makes fans and teams stick together as well as motivate players to try better next time. Do you think Harbaugh belittles his team after loses like this one? Of course not, he encourages them to get better. We should do the same.

It was underthrown and could have easily been picked off had the defender been playing the ball. Joe was picked off the same way at the end of a game last year with the same pass.

Trestman gave this game away. When we thew on 1st down, we ended up converting that set of downs into a 1st down 8/10 times. When we ran on 1st down, we only ended up with a first down on just 3/11 sets of downs. That reminded me of Cam Cameron, run on every 1st down, and let them tee off on Flacco on 2nd and 3rd and long.

this is how i feel, but at the same time, losing suggs for the year HURTS, really bad. we have just been getting nailed by the injury bug for the past few years, i cant even comprehend it. and another concern... if perriman doesnt produce as a first rounder should, then our wr corps is gonna be ugly
