Crockett and Mad Maxx

You said ranked higher, which he isn't, so I was confused. The guy can play, though.

Yeah, I guess I worded it wrong....

I like Crockett a lot but he really doesn't seem to have strong hands (he has good soft hands) I probably would have put Maxx out there for that final play today.

I feel like Crockett can be solid but essentially takes what the defense give him.  When push comes to shove, he probably won't be making many game changing plays.  That's always been my gut feeling even before today.

Yea I feel like he'll end up being like Scott Chandler not spectacular but solid.

My gosh, give the guy some time to develop. He is obviously green but has great potential. Hopefully the game experience helps him move forward.

He does have potential but he's also athletically limited, and for most players especially at the tight end position that can be the difference between good and great.

With a lot of warranted hype...our TE basically did nothing until the final quarter.

They should've done a lot more when Eugene went down.  They failed to move the chain and help the line.

They need to do a hell of a lot better.   Our offense will depend on these 3 guys to keep the offense rolling.   They should be our featured weapons for this season.

They are an awesome combo but we never use our personnel in the best possible way. We always force the I-formation or single back and then when that fails go three WR set. It never works at that point like they don't practice that stuff much. I hope they really use these two the way they should be. Maxx Williams' potential is especially exciting.

All of our tight ends are pretty much the same thing. Limited athletically and good blockers. No diversity there. Pitta is the only known to be a receiving threat and hes injured.

Rookie tightends usually take awhile before getting adjusted to The NFL . Some or most like the last rookie  tight class aren't ready to contributed much to the offense, Gilmore on the other hand looks quite promising but this is his first year where he's the clear number one tight end and he has to grow in that role.

Can't argue here. Some people just seem to think the Peytons, Bradys and Rodgers of the league have it all and in order for Flacco to do the same we need a stacked offense.

lol.......this is just something you made up. I haven't seen anyone say that and it's certainly not what I was implying with my sarcastic remark. It's obvious that great QBs elevate the play of those around them. But the bottom line is that great QBs need players on their team that can make plays to help them to be great, they can't do it alone.

Would've been nice if we ran some early-down play action for them, also. For some reason we went back to the run, run, then throw on third-and-long. Tough to watch.

I agree we need to run more play action but Denver has some really good corners and coverage middle linebackers.  This is almost identical to last years season opener where everyone was concerned with Kubiak's play calling.  I believe Trestman will adjust and run more plays Flacco is comfortable in and we have a good matchup against Oakland where we can get it back on track

Holy Cow...  You guys are brutal...  That was Gillmore's first regular season start as the #1 TE.  Give the Guy a break!!!!!  The kid needs time to grow into that position.  That was a "Game Winning TD" if he catches that.  I'm sure if we are in week 4, he catches that.

Ive been saying it since last yr, GILMORE is a freaking BEAST.

He is the RAVENS version of GRONK,  mArk my words.

He is pitta 2.0. The dude is a monster, it always takes 3 cbs to bring him down.

Exactly, people need to realize he actually caught the ball but his arms were fully extended and he had the ball in his finger tips. What do you honestly expect.

We didnt lose that game because of him, we lost that game because just like last season STEVE Smith dropped a easy catch that was in his hands and out of no where he had another allergic reaction to pig skin.

Lets not forget how bad the O line was, and im actually high on HURST but man, he was getting railed

While I certainly don't agree with Crockett being anything close to Gronk (I'd be satisfied if he were our version of Pitta, which he isn't), it's interesting how Steve Smith gets a pass. Let's not forget he was near the top of the league in drops last year as well.

I don't think any TE outside of Gronk will be successful in an offense without a deep play maker. Until Perriman is healthy safeties will be closer to the line to take away the tightend routes and to stop the run. I also doubt anyone other than Gronk could have made that catch at the end since it was under thrown.

Well, yeah, Denver has some really good corners, and some really good pass rushers, too.  All the more reason to not only throw on the obvious passing downs.

Not many folk on here acknowledge that the ball was underthrown, but I agree with ya!

I don't even know if Gronk catches that ball. It was under thrown, but it was also defended well.

alot of that is on the coaches to make proper adjusments and better playcalling.

Probably not, but I bet you he would caught alot more passes before the last minute of the game.

Playmakers find ways to be productive. Our guys were ghosts till the last minute.

Yeah but Gronk is one of the best players in the NFL. We're talking about a guy in Gilmore who was drafted to be a blocking TE/compliment to Pitta.

Gronk would be targeted a lot more and would have plays specifically designed to get him the ball. Gilmore didn't get that luxury, and none of the other receivers were able to draw safeties away from him.
