[News] Funny Pages: Here's Exactly What Will Happen In Denver

20 posts in this topic

Needed a good laugh knowing I can't miss the first game of the year and I'm stuck rooting for the steelers... I'd never hope for injuries so gotta just hope this game takes a lot out of both teams (very physical)

For those of you pulling for the Steelers, please keep these things in mind:

Deflategate did not impact us directly.

If we play New England at all this year, it will be once in the playoffs. We may play Pittsburgh three times!

Our best shot at securing more home playoff games is to win our division, which means Pittsburgh needs to lose more games than we do.

Lets please hope for a lousy game in which both teams look bad, but Pittsburgh does something a little worse at the end and loses.

Thank you for this PSA opportunity.  ;)

So the solution to guarantee the above predictions is....just call a hypnotist in to convince Joe that this is a playoff game against Denver. Likewise, hypnotize Peyton in to believing that it's the AFC Championship and that it's -10 degrees on the field.

@Bat-mite Think about this if you want to have a chance to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs than the best strategy is to vote for the Steelers to beat the Patriots. The Patriots have a cake walk schedule the Steelers still have a tough schedule so more losses from the Patriots give us a chance to secure home field. One win from the Steelers still doesn't matter because they still have to play Seattle, Denver, Kanas City, etc. So we can still win the division and chance to secure home field. :-)

we have a tough schedule ourself. We need to focus on winning the division before anything else. The rest will take care of itself.

Am I the only one hoping for a tie?

I know its unlikely, but if that doesn't happen I am rooting for the Pats.

To be completely honest I don't see much of a chance of us securing homefield advantage. You know why? We have only got 10-11 wins since Harbaugh when going to the play offs. This schedule we have is also brutal. We play in the toughest division, maybe second whoever you talk to, and we also play the AFC west and NFC west. Denver, San Diego, Kansas City, Seattle, and Arizona are all play off caliber teams right there. That is 9 play off skill games on our schedule with a bunch of other tough teams like the Rams that will be a thorn in our sides. I am expecting 10 at most. Always cheer against division opponents. Getting into the playoffs is better than no play offs at all. I don't see 3 AFC north teams going to the play offs this season because of how improved some of the other AFC teams have gotten, so cheer against your opponent to get one of those two spots.

Looking at all the power rankings available to me they average out with us in the second tier of teams right behind Pats, Seahawks, and Packers. Giving some strength to homefield advantage and matching us up against all our opponents this year, game by game, I come out with us losing only two games - Broncos and Seahawks. This gives us a 14-2 season. Now I know this seems unrealistic and there is always a 'reversion to the mean' in statistics so we probably won't do that well. But a 12-4, or better, season is not unrealistic.

Could have been a tie if Scoobee-doo hadn't missed his first two FGs.
