[News] Ravens Re-Sign CB Asa Jackson To Practice Squad

62 posts in this topic

I am happy to see Asa back, but definitely surprised that D-Brown was cut. I want both of them on the team!! We have an extra TE on the PS so why not letting him go?? oh well, watch Daniel Brown will be added to the PS before Sunday lol

They already cut Konrad Reuland to make room for Charles James.

Just when you think Ravens have regain their sanity they prove yet again to cover up their bad move with yet another bad move. Asa will cost the Ravens a game, guarantee you.

He's on the PS.  He can't cost us a game as long as he's not in one ;)

But if they brought him back to be a KR/PR, they would've cut Jeremy Ross and kept D. Brown.  Clearly they brought him back for more security at CB, with someone who knows the scheme and is comfortable with his teammates.

will be hard to cost them a game from the practice squad. Only way he gets pulled up is if we have another crazy string of injuries to the secondary, and even then we have other options above him.

As a receiver now in days you have to not be sacred to get tackled. That's what D brown showed in his catches. Asa Jackson ugh!!! It's been long enough of balancing the good and bads with him and the bad weighs more on him. Hopefully Jeremy Ross will floss lol

Am I the only person hear that thinks ahead? So Asa is going to stay on the practice field for the 2015 season? So its the Pitts game he puts the ball on the turf.

... and he adds depth if needed.

I liked his enthusiasm in the preseason.... just think he was trying too hard... moving too fast....

I think Asa is a better returner than cb, maybe he should just convert to returnman and work on the drops and decision making I just don't think he's a natural cb, he's just not a good cb.

Asa fumbled not because of hard hits but technique. Technique he had months to prepare and practice but I guess he seen the light?

very good possibility. Very good possibility he gets cut from the practice squad and replaced too. Either way , enough with the pessimism.

now this is why Oz keeps things moving...Cut Asa, makes room for Mcghee, Ross and James. shuffles a few players here and there and ends up with Asa back on the team. Brown will probably get called back with the first team IR.

He's still awful as a cornerback. Not sure how I feel about this since Brown was not only making plays on offense (granted against 2nd and 3rd stringers) and special teams. It is what it is, not complaining about the team's decision.

This is the second dumbest move Oz had made, forgot the first, D. Brown is a player, would have made a great Raven.

Oh yeah, we still have that dumb logo on the center of the field and when is Tucker going to sing the National anthem?

Did Billy Murphy (Lawyer) have something to do with this? we cut a player with ability to sign with very little. What the heck?

Didn't realize Asa was even still eligible for the PS but whatever, that's cool. Glad to have him back, it's clear he does have alot of return talent but needs to work on holding on to the ball. Sorry to see Brown go but he was the natural choice, we would have been carrying 4 WRs if someone else was cut, Butler and Ross are both more established than him so he was the odd man out, I'm sure he'll get unclaimed, keep working and he might get to come out and play in the purple and black again.

Maybe they should have put Perriman on pup and kept Brown.

What the heck?! You get rid of guy with talent and potential in Brown, and re-sign a guy who's had multiple years to show that he's an awful CB and prone to mistakes and turnovers. This doesn't make sense to me. I don't mind signing Jackson to the PS, but not at Brown's expense. They should have cut someone else. Bad move!

I just can't wait to see what becomes of Brown in the NFL. A bunch of guys watch some preseason games, see a few catches, and believe they recognize talent so much that "fans" are saying the move was stupid.

This happens ALL the time.

I am not saying that no name guys do not come out of nowhere, mature late, and make an impact after failing to impress others. But these preseason superstars are a dime a dozen and are rarely heard from again. We already have 6 wide receivers on the active roster and ONE of them is a proven veteran starter playing in his last season. There is only one ball fellas. We have plenty of "projects" at WR with potential. Kick returner and corner? Not so much.

Let's just see how things work out for these guys before we put them in our mental Hall of Fames are start referring to one of the best GM's in the history of the business as "stupid".
