[News] Ravens Re-Sign CB Asa Jackson To Practice Squad

62 posts in this topic

I would have kept Daniel Brown who has a huge upside as opposed to Jackson who we already know and we are not really happy with. Suspensions, fumbles, miserable cornerback play. If we had to resign him, then we should have kept Jacoby for the miserable $750k it would have cost.

I'm expecting a lot of fans to write on here about their displeasure at Daniel Brown being cut. We'll see.

I'm displeased... but the day isn't over yet, the way this is going he could be back by tonight. :D

You'll be right. Not sure why they cut him. Probably depth at WR and more returner experience elsewhere? Asa is not all bad and has an upside, but at this point, he doesn't deserve a spot on the 53-man roster. However, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now - a lot of insecurity and changes in a matter of days.

Seems like there could have been someone else besides Brown we could have let go - he did real well in the preseason, and might have become a real good receiver for us. Maybe we can get him back. Wasn't it Josh Bynes we cut/resigned about 4 x the one year? :)

Could be that the FO is worried that the injury bug that happened to the secondary last year will happen again, but who's to say that it can't happen to another position, like say WR.

Didn't realize Asa was even still eligible for the PS but whatever, that's cool. Glad to have him back, it's clear he does have alot of return talent but needs to work on holding on to the ball. Sorry to see Brown go but he was the natural choice, we would have been carrying 4 WRs if someone else was cut, Butler and Ross are both more established than him so he was the odd man out, I'm sure he'll get unclaimed, keep working and he might get to come out and play in the purple and black again.

Daniel Brown, keep the faith in your abilities and hopefully you will land back in Baltimore at some point or get an opportunity elsewhere. You deserve a shot somewhere so good luck in the next step of your NFL journey.

Yep, and I am one of those...... I am also probably alone when I say I am NOT happy about them re-signing Jackson..... Truly hoping they have something a bit more beneficial up their sleeves.......

More so at the bringing back of Jackson. This guy is the king of second chances.

Don't trust him in the secondary. Certainly don't trust him in the return game.

Very happy they brought Asa back. It seems like the teams may have had a gentleman's agreement and the R's will reciprocate in the future. He has good cover skills in my opinion and can bring it when running back kicks. Besides, if Camp was the only returner they had it was a foregone conclusion he'd be back. BTW... what is the soft tissue issue with Camp? In boxing when one is a bleeder he's said to have soft tissue but in football?

What bothered me the most about Jacoby last year wasn't so much the drops as much as the bad decision making.  Taking the ball out of the end zone and not getting to at least the twenty seemed to happen too many times.  If Jackson can keep a hold of the ball then perhaps this is a good move.  Especially if it keeps Camp out as PR and or KR but I am going to miss not having Brown as a possible fill in or future wide receiver for this team.

Asa was electrifying at times so I have not forgot how dangerous he can be as a returner. I will admit that I was not bothered by him being cut because it was understandable that he was not among the better CBs on the team and the fumbles did not help. One single fumble can change the course of a game just like that. He just needs to focus a little more on not fumbling, beware of his surroundings like when to hold the ball tighter when close to opponents and when to relax a little bit in open space to run fast at beginning and end. There is no doubt he can break free here and there, just hang onto the ball better is all. There is so few CBs left out in the market who are better than him at CB but may not have the returner experience so this may be a good thing, does not hurt to at least have him as backup CB with returner experience. I wish him the best, hope it all works out this time as I am sure he is learning his lessons and wants to improve. Welcome back and good luck Asa.

I am happy to see Asa back, but definitely surprised that D-Brown was cut. I want both of them on the team!! We have an extra TE on the PS so why not letting him go?? oh well, watch Daniel Brown will be added to the PS before Sunday lol

Wasn't there anybody other than Daniel Brown that we could cut? Perhaps not. But, it is great that we got Asa back.

We could cut Jah R... Oh... never mind....

Just when you think Ravens have regain their sanity they prove yet again to cover up their bad move with yet another bad move. Asa will cost the Ravens a game, guarantee you.
