[News] Late For Work 9/8: Ravens Have Become Trendy Super Bowl Pick

73 posts in this topic

nobody's hatin , it's called being a realist. Some people don't jump on the bandwagon when a player makes 2 or 3 big plays, esp considering the circumstances.

The bandwagon is actually for Aiken bro. So you guys are on it. I chose to go my own way and root for the underdog. Just saying, no offense man

Like I said, he made plays against guys who probably didn't make the 53 man roster like Daniel Brown.  I guess the coaches are haters since they didn't put him on the 53 man roster, let alone make him a starter.

You remember Omar Brown's pre-season a few years back?

I mean I am kinda upset at the coaches but they did bring him back to the practice squad so I can't really be mad. But nah i don't remember Omar Brown. If he did something spectacular like Brown did I would remember

You'll have a good idea whats going to be an issue in week one, by the break you'll know if it can be fixed by the players ability. Jan it will be just  hindsight.

LOL, I can promise you there isn't a single coach on this staff who comes to those conclusions after week 1.

rooting for the underdog is always cool, but when selecting players for a roster it doesn't work that way. You have to go with the guy who gives you the most production and best chance to win. And guess what? After SSS , Aiken has been HANDS DOWN the most reliable and consistent receiver. And if you think about it, Aiken is an underdog as well. A journey man who bounced around from team to team and finally earning his spot in baltimore and fighting his way up the depth chart. He wasn't just drafted in the first round and given the job, he fought for it. Daniel browns time will come bro, it's just not this year. With SSS retiring, I definitely think he has a good chance to make the roster next year and burn it up. He's simply not ready. Edited by January J

Ok we'll see what Aiken does first. But remember that I called it first saying he's no good. So if im wrong please call me out and I will admit to being wrong. But I've always had a knack for peeping talent and bust players. Im calling this one to be an upset for Aiken. I just don't think he is tough enough for our style offense.

I guess you REALLY hate the coaches now since they cut Daniel Brown from the practice squad.  Like many have stated, there's no way he was going to be a starter with us.

evidentally the guy throwing to him doesn't feel that way. Ofcourse he's not gonna publicly diss him , but he said that he wasn't suprised one bit that Aiken got the #2 spot and knew it all along. Il take joe's opinion into consideration before anybody else's , let alone some random fans. Everybody's a Monday-morning QB

As far as the ravens being the superbowl pick, it's definitely become a trend. All in this morning on mike and mike- brian billick, Adam schefter, and the producers of the show picked them to win as well.

Swami just also picked the ravens and Seahawks in the Super Bowl. I've literally never seen this many people pick the ravens for the Super Bowl. Good thing I don't believe in jinxes.

Yea... right.. I know its frustrating but we have to remember that other teams are going through injuries with top players too. We just have to look forward to him returning and showing us what he can do. Missing dam near all training camp and practice will probably take its toll also though :(

frustrating is an understatement..........
