34 posts in this topic

I think the roster looks real good.I believe that the Ravens have one of the strongest rosters they have ever had. Let's hope it all meshes into a unstoppable football SB ring making machine! I can't wait for Sunday to get here! GO RAVENS!

Let's go gettum, guys. The NFL keeps giving us these schedules that seem to be some of the roughest in the league. We have the ability to work through them every year. Let's take this one and go all the way.

The Ravens shall improve throughout the weeks but, as long as the Ravens give it their all, especially Week 1 to make a statement to Elway, Manning, and Kubiak.

I don't know if it's because of the turnover, the loss of leaders or just maturity but it seems to me that Joe is, I believe, finally where we have wanted him to be for 7 years. There is an air of, not just cool, but confidence that he is finally comfortable within his skin and can not only produce, but raises the level of those that surround him. Except for a pair of wayward throws in th Eagles game, he has thrown bullseyes. Kubiak Is a guru at making 1000 yard runners and we are keeping his run game at the same time we bring in Trestman who is a passing genius commonly referred to as a "quarterback whisperer. That combination provided Joe with the best of the best of both facets of the offensive game. This is one of the main reasons that I look for Flacco and the Ravens to make huge strides this year offensively and to be an offensive powerhouse and blow teams out week after week.

Our TE group is going to be what makes this team great this season. It almost seems to good to be true, but we have 2 of maybe the best up & coming TE's in the game with Mad max and Gillmore

First time I see Harbs backtracking a little bit about the importance of the first game. It almost seems like he is handicapping it a little bit to keep the players from being demoralized if they lose the game. I understand it, but the players are grown men and professionals so I'm sure they understand it as well. So, I can't agree with this approach John is taking recently. Just go out and put it all out there and win the 2 road games Ravens! You can do it.

Winning in denver will be the shot heard around the world! This Offense should avg 40pts a game and with teams respecting Joe's arm it will keep the running game alive and well but don't slow down the game running get them points and in the 2nd half the run game will get more yds than the 1st half! Going to shootout next Sunday period point blank!

I think it's a good idea. Remember destroying the Steelers week 1, then losing in Tennessee the following week? The next year, we blew out the Bengals week 1, then lost to the Eagles week 2. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and Harbaugh knows you can't get too high or too low after one regular season game. He's trying to prepare his team for the whole journey, not just one game.

Oh, Garrett, come on... It's understood that you have to write nice things about the team before the so-important Week#1... but "best they can be"? When every other website says we have holes in kick returning, O-line depth, RB depth and secondary depth? No, we are far from being the "best we can" - but that doesn't necessarily mean we couldn't be successful.

If harbs is concerned about a loss in week 1 i dont know why. I have more trust in our defense's ability to stop old man peyton than broncos being able to stop a new look offense (again) with joe probably running slightly more catching the nfl off guard. I would not be surprised to see joe set career highs in running yds

Yeah, the real excitement begins on Sunday. Although I was disappointed, overall, about the performance of our reserves in the preseason games, I reminded myself that, hopefully, we will only have to see one, two, or three of them, who knows, blend into the starting teams in the case of injuries. It's not like we will be putting the whole second or third teams out there at once like in preseason. I really believe, though that a big key to our success this year will be our ability to avoid the scope and number of injuries that crippled us last season. To be honest, we're not starting out this first week without non starters being out there. I'm hoping a Lot that we can be much healthier than last year.

I'll second that one...  Elway and Kubiak need to have to "eat some crow" for how they did this... it just seemed a little dirty somehow.  That being said???  I like how Trestman and Joe are getting along.

I have to go with BIO on his view. Far to many question marks as we head into the season. A lot of concerns with who is hurt ands who will actually be in the lineup Want the Broncos to go down in a big way though. Cant stand Elway and never could. Manning is a bit overrated at this point in his career too. Take them out and do it fast

This will be a tough stretch the first 5 games, with 4 on the road. Ravens will be VERY fortunate to go 3-2 over that span, and 2-3 is more likely.

"Ravens Best They Can Be" Downing put the cork back in the bottle, please. Our really fast WR is mysteriously incognito. Who will be our lights out return player . We're missing one more running back. I have a growing concern about injuries to our secondary. Our 2nd. D line gives up too many rushing yards.

I think Joe can get along with most any coach until they put in a wildcat play. But yeah, Denver needs to be spanked!

Lots of unfaithful ravens fans on these comments. Peyton manning got hit 7 times in only 2 pre season games. i dont know the other 2 but that's bad.broncos have only 1 returning O line man from last year, lets see if their ready for dumervil, suggs, brandon williams, carl davis, jernigan and upshaw. any one of those guys can either get to the QB or blow up a run play or both on this o-line. mosley and smith will lock down inside with whatever plays needed and our secondary wont have to defend for long. Pees has been game planning for this sunday since the ravens and broncos drafted their last player.

A realistic Raven fan knows this team is not as good as we thought it would be in the offseason. Their first and second round picks are gone for an undetermined amount of time and both will be far behind when they do come back. Most of the team is depending on potential, though Carl Davis seems to be a good player. I hope I'm wrong, as a huge Raven fan.

Wish I could "like" that many times.

Wouldn't it be nice if Denver came to Baltimore to open the season? The last time we opened the season in Denver it didn't go so well for us.

The key to beating denver is exploiting their one glaring weakness, the offensive line. Our D needs to put Manning on his back and shut down the run. That is how we win the game. losing their starting corner will help soften a pretty good secondary. hopefully trestman can put in enough wrinkles to keep Kubiak guessing.

Letting Toussaint go was really stupid. I thought he was better than Allen or McGee. We can get him back though when Bell returns in 2 weeks.

When we open our season in Denver, I hope we have the capability to keep the score low. I believe the offense will score but the D has to gain it's foot hold.  That first quarter will be a pins and needles tour for all of us.
