You know I like our final 53! I think I trust that the coaches have thought about this long and hard through the entire preseason program and made the decision to keep the best 53 players on the Ravens. They also know exactly who they are going to put on the 10 man practice squad too. Also, I don't think they'll bad an eyelid to keep looking to improve the team through the waivers either. So if nothing happens with any more additions, I think this 53 man roster can bring us a SB! Go Ravens.

Elam, Urban and Pitta are all headed for IR so that leaves Ozzie some room to bring back at least 3 players or make some new acquisitions. IMO we are seriously short at corner so I wouldn't be surprised to see Jackson or Vaughn or both return. Also defensive line is really thin as well. I didn't know Tyson was that badly injured so IMO we need to add a starting quality D lineman. Bikuldi and Butler are also candidates to return as well. I think Urban or Pitta will get the PUP label.

IMO it is strange that Elam and Urban just didn't go to IR earlier so we didn't have to expose so many players. Bikuldi wasn't on the cut list so maybe they did move Pitta, Urban or Elam to IR.

Hope that Asa comes back. He's a good cover corner and although he fumbled two KO returns that doesn't mean it will happen all season long. One can only hope that J. Smith stays healthy or the loss of Jackson will be felt even more so.

Terrence West on the trade block? Darnell Dockett got released... could add some depth to a hurt defensive line... Just a couple names to keep an eye on... Overall not an overwhelming cut day, I am not really surprised by much except Myers but even that I understand

Oz needs to have a conference call with Marc and Harbaugh and Joe and whoever else we can get to convince Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks that they can retire with another super bowl coming to Baltimore. having both won a SB they want to add to their legacy and know ravens are one of few teams with a chance to win it all. Trade Campanaro for pick or d-line but reggie and hakeem are 53 worthy and wont last long on the market. oz can pull off two 1 year contract with 5.7 million free

I thought for sure Terrence Magee would make it. He showed a lot in the running game and a lot on special teams especially Thursday night when he ran the punt returner down, fought thru a block and tackled him short of the goal. I just hope he makes it thru waivers and we get him on the PS.

I swear I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, but... how recent info do you have on these two guys? Nicks is, by the opinion of basically anybody who's seen him recently, done - his speed and leg power is gone. And as for Reggie Wayne, he himself requested to be released by the Pats, and once again, just about everybody predicts he is going to retire. and even if he isn't, analysts say that he is done, too, ofering just about nothing of his past explosiveness, speed and jump power. At this point, probably keeping Butler would have made a ton mopre sense than either of these two, as Butler is young BEFORE his prime while the two are old, OVER their top. Also, Butler knows the playbook, the Ravens play calling language, and has some chemistry with Flacco. Neither Nicks nor Wayne could get much of it in one week... and we'd need that chemistry badly in Denver.

 

So, no matter how great names they are, no matter how prolific they were in the past - those two players are the past. And we need players for the present and future.

Can't believe anybody's serious about signing Hakeem Nicks. He did nothing for the Colts and just got cut by another team. We have other positions of greater need -- CB, DT, kick returner. Ozzie will find better players to fill those slots than the ones we just cut. I just hope no one else picks up Renner and Daniel Brown. Need them on practice squad.

@bio..........I would also take Butler over both Wayne and Nicks, Father Time has caught both of them. In fact I would not be surprised if the Patriots are looking at film of Butler as I am typing this.

hmmm so they where filming our practices?

 

for all the praise and hype he got during practices , i rarely seen any translate to actuals games.

 

so yeah unless they filmed our practises their isn't really much to look at.

He may not have had the best preseason, but IMHO Bulter is very talented. I hope he can be put on our PS!

Aiken is basically the #2 WR at this point. His spot was always secure.
