[News] Ravens Trim 2015 Roster To 53 Players

138 posts in this topic

Congratulations to all the players that are 2015 Baltimore Ravens. The 53 is a living, breathing thing and the last 3 guys are still on the bubble as Ozzie makes a move or 2 in the coming weeks but, for now, celebrate and dance to the music. Post-season here we come.

Myers's cut seems due to Jensen's progress and Myers's immaturity. Makes sense for PS.

I thought for sure Terrence Magee would make it. He showed a lot in the running game and a lot on special teams especially Thursday night when he ran the punt returner down, fought thru a block and tackled him short of the goal. I just hope he makes it thru waivers and we get him on the PS.

5 CBs again. Sigh. I guess taking someone like Bilukidi over Asa Jackson makes sense objectively, but good lord I can't believe we're starting another season thin at that position after last year and given that Lardarius has already missed significant time with another injury.

@omar586 @ravenz2752 Yep. Cordarrelle Patterson will be a huge pickup for our special teams. Same height as Jacoby but younger and faster he's perfect for our special teams as a returner. Also I think he could contribute as a deep threat at wr as well. Cordarrelle could be more successful at Wr because he has Joe to throw him the ball other than Teddy Bridgewater who doesn't have a great arm. But ravenz2752 I hope they keep Arthur Brown though I wouldn't mind trading for some draft picks like a 4th or 5th rounder because we got draft picks from Easton and Gino (I believe) for next year.

@reed20fence Ozzie could at least try to contract the Vikings to see if they want to trade him or not. They do have Stefon Diggs so why not least give a call.

Why would the Vikes wanna trade him?

Well, both his role and his performance in 2014 shrunk from those in 2013. There were speculations that he night have been in the doghouse or even on his way out of Minnesota. But these were all unconfirmed speculations, of course.

Gotta figure Magee gets brought back when Urban goes on IR tomorrow, assuming he makes it through waivers.

With so many players becoming vailable so soon, it's always good to have one "spare" roster spot at this point. If we get Magee on the PS we can move him on the active roster at any time.

Why would they cut Asa??

Because he's a subpar CB and cannot be trusted as a return guy?

There is some serious favoritism going on for Kamar Aiken. I haven't seen him do anything spectacular but hopefully the coaches have seen enough in training camp to come to the conclusion to cut Brown & Butler for him.

Shut up Bio.. in my Donald Trump voice lol.

But seriously, who on our CB roster isn't subpar besides Jimmy Smith. Webb is the man but his chances of playing a full season is 50/50. It really seemed to me that Asa Jackson was maturing this season and hitting hard on the defense. Can't go wrong with a guy that can play CB decent and cover for kick returner in case we needed a body.

We don't know whether he would have made the roster if he stayed.

Right but the point is, we converted a UDFA into something. Not the same thing as having them on your team, but it was like picking up a draft pick out of thin air.

Yes, true. Also, Zach Thompson is in the IR - so, he's also kinda stuck...

Yes, we don't have the best corners beyond Jimmy - but IMHO Asa was even mediocre at best in this crop...

Whos the returner?? Go get WR/returner insurance. Jacoby Ford speed threat explosive with returner experience. James Jones former packer really physical WR great at spectacular catches, hard over the middle catches... I really dont like this Perriman situation. Even if he plays next week which im doubtful at this point he might only get one or two 9 routes and thats it.

Let me guese were going with injury prone Campanaro. Lame.

Heard a few hours ago the pats are actually cutting Reggie wayne. Didn't see that coming.

He himself requested his release.

Maybe he felt he couldn't do one more season.
