[News] 2015 Roster Cuts Rumor Mill

61 posts in this topic

Tough time and like harbaugh said, all these guys deserve credit for just making it through his training camp. I don't expect the picks we want to know about most will happen until 4PM tomorrow when the deadline is here. It is well known that teams try to protect the players they want on the practice squad by keeping them under the radar as much as possible and hoping that teams who have needs, pick up someone early and don't have room for another developmental player on their rosters.

Agreed.. these guys worked hard the last 5 or 6 months.  They worked hard on the field last night.  I feel bad for them but they'll have some great stories to tell their kids one day.

Some really promising young players are going to be heartbroken as cuts are made throughout the league. Wishing all of our Ravens preseason players lots of luck for the future, whether it be in the NFL or elsewhere in life. Other doors will open for many of you so keep the faith and be ready wherever life leads you. Been a pleasure to watch y'all.

I am sure you are right but if a team cut a guy they liked really early maybe they could trick another team by having them second guess, "Wow they cut that guy right off the bat, they must not like him very much, maybe he is not as good as we think or maybe he was a problem." But would 31 teams fall for it, probably not.

Now is the time Ozzie's genius savvy will shine the brightest. Will be interesting to see how all of these trades and pick ups pan out. Ozzie is on the prowl folks and will come up with some unexpected gems for us. Keeping the faith in OZ.

I imagine we are waiting to pounce on a waived potential from another team before we get it down to size....Here's hoping for a GREAT 53. Tickety-tock....coo-coo....or caw-caw !

Was hoping we could get Easton on the practice squad, but I guess the Ravens knew someone would steal him. It's probably a 7th that could become a 6th if he ends up starting some games.

He is a great practice squad candidate but clearly wouldn't last there as he would be grabbed. So, I do believe we are optionless but to explore a trade where we'll get something for nothing. Great idea. Please make it happen.

Louis Nix was released by Texans, someone to look at

I asked about Nix on the board yesterday but the responses were that his knees are kinda shot. But, he is intriguing to say the least. He was rated higher by NFL.com last year than our own Timmy Jernigan and the Rockets thought they had a steal at #83 in the 3rd round. Evidently not.

Maybe by trading easton, they can get a returner/WR...butin any case Ozzie should pick up a WR for depth and insurance with Perriman situation. James Jones is available after cut, long time Packer with those QBs so you know hes a solid WR,

Im sure other names will be cut too but if Perriman is out until week 3-4 then we need more WRs

I was hoping that the Ravens would trade for Vernon Davis or something. He is a beast and with all the uncertainty with our TE position he would be a great pickup. I think Mad Max will be really good but he hasn't shown a whole lot yet.

Looks like Waller made the team. Has lots more upside than Butler, IMO. Who we really need is Breshad Perriman. If he were playing, no one would be talking about these other guys.

still baffles me why ppl believe the right end position is an uncertainty. I mean, I get it..I guess... I just think once ppl see how much talent we have In action the worries will get decimated. Edited by January J

I hope Butler and Brown make the practice squad. I think that they are trying to sneak in Butler but he won't make it. I doubt that Butler will make it because the Patriots are in desolate territory and desperately need WR help. They will steal him away because he catches everything thrown to him that is catchable like Boldin. That is just want the Patriots need and want. I just think it would be miserable to see him there. Maybe the sneaking him to the squad will help. His problem is getting separation, he is tough and has glue like hands and the ball sticks when he is hit. But he was always hit right when /after he caught the ball in the preseason games I watched. I can't tell if that was on him or Schaub and Renner. He was even breaking tackles on some of those plays. I just think he needs reps to get some initial separation. Seriously he is a rookie (though maybe his red shirt year was a "red shirt" year of you know what I mean) he just needs a little time. If It was next year without SSS he may have made the squad. All said and done he is too similar to Aiken and Brown and even Campanero in some way, but possession receivers move the ball, better to have someone who can catch and then hold onto the ball than Lee Evans. Good luck Jeremy! Selfishly I hope you make our practice squad and then to regular games mid season. Unselfishly I hope you make any other first team than the Steelers or the Patriots. Thank you for putting all

The Ravens are gonna find a way to keep Kapron Lewis-Moore, I believe that very strongly

Cut A Brown Let him make them dumb tackles  some where else.

Waller does not remind me of a guy that would go after the ball and say "its mine". He's more like Torrey. D Brown is more  like A  Boldin.

Unless Waller did something terrible (and he didn't, he looks great and the raw edges he has, while still present, are rapidly being sanded away) he was unlikely to be cut since he was a sixth rounder and the Ravens tend not to give up on them the first year. I hope that he makes it (don't want to jinx anything) I really like Waller. Those good genes from Fats must run in the family. (Fats wasn't his nickname because he was fat, he was a large man just not fat, he got it from another legendary musician named Fats because he was similar in talent). If you look at old videos of Fats and then pics of Darren you can see him in his facial bone structure. Man now I'm going to have to go listen to the Viper song! Yea Darren!
