[News] Game Recap: Falcons 20, Ravens 19

Daniel Brown at least earned a spot on the PS after this performance. He can feel good about that, even if he doesn't make the 53 man roster.

The FO would be a bunch of Morons not to sign Daniel Brown. You cant teach want to, or heart, you either have it or you dont. He has a good skill set to, and is teachable. Do not let this kid leave, find him something.

Brown is another 6'5" receiver to add to our kit-bag full of big receivers to create some serious matchup problems for opposing D's. Let's keep him. And like Old School said, you can't teach heart.

Attention: There's no such thing as a "pre-season record". The games don't count, so why count them?

It really shows that your team has more talented players than the other team.

Wow...Daniel Brown is a baller! Wouldnt mind giving the kid a chance.... IDK how but he can play....Asa just isnt what he was supposed to be and I would rather see us keep Cassius Vaughn over ASA but that is all determined by if we think Campanaro can be our returner and can stay heatlthy!

Nothing against Daniel Brown, he had an incredible performance last night but he is not roster worthy. Unless the Ravens keep 7 and bump Butler which I don't see happening with the Ravens needing a 4th running back until Taliaferro comes back. Also they are carrying 4 tight ends. Daniel Brown played well against the Falcons back ups, but he is in the stage LaQuan Williams was a couple seasons ago. Made exceptional plays on special teams but didn't have enough to actually contribute on offense. And at this point we need to keep every offensive play maker we possibly can because our offense is going to be one dimensional until Perriman is healthy to stretch the field. I like Brown and I'm not saying he can't do more in the future, but as of now he is just a practice squad player. He is a journeyman just like Aiken and Aiken decided to finally put the burners on maybe Brown will next season. I'm not trying to take anything away from his performance last night, I'm sure he could be on a roster somewhere else but here there are so many guys grouped at about the same skill level it is ridiculous that no one has pulled away yet.

Stats from last night.

Schuab 7/7 for 88 yards

Renner 18/24 128 yards 2 touchdowns

I don't know why people are hating on Schuab he has had a spectacular preseason besides against the Redskins in which all back ups did terrible. Schuab also was playing more starters and better players overall. I do like what Renner has done but we won't know how well he will do against starters in the NFL. Schuab has that experience. I think people keep thinking about his past in Oakland and not what he has done in a purple jersey so far.

I pray to the Gods of football that the Ravens see as most fans seem to that Renner is the best choice for the #2 QB! Schaub had one, maybe 2 decent seasons in Texas and that was it! He can not do the job up to Ravens standards. For goodness sake, he couldn't make it with the Raiders. Nothing personal, but he has got to go!

Daniel Brown is playmaker. None of the other wrs on the bubble stepped up like he did. Keep him over Butler, we saw already what he brings.

The problem I see is that the Ravens don't have many roster spots on offense. Last year they kept 2 quarterbacks, 3 running backs, 6 wide receivers, 1 full back and 3 tight ends. We invested 2 draft picks in tight ends so I assume they stay on the roster. So that already leaves 4 tight ends on the roster with Pitta and Gillmore. Quarterbacks I still see 2 in  Schuab and Flacco. But when it comes to running backs I also see the Ravens carrying 4 until Taliaferro at least comes back healthy from his knee surgery. I think Magee slips there because if Forsett went out during a game we would only have Buck Allen who hasn't shown too much promise yet. Right there that means we are 2 spots over from last season. That does not include offensive linemen which has been plagued with injuries all offseason. That is why I believe the Ravens only carry 6 again and that is also why I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens cut Asa Jackson because he is like 5th or 6th on the depth chart and has fumbling issues. Those roster spots need to come from somewhere which is why I think Daniel Brown gets sent to the practice squad along with Jeremy Butler. It's not that they don't have talent to make the team, it is just a numbers game making the 53 man roster. I'm sure people will be very disappointed with the next wave of cuts because 4-5 people will be cut that people want on the team. Orr, A. Brown, or McClellan will be cut I believe because we don't need 5 inside linebackers.

Jackson has proven that he can't be trusted to return kicks. He almost dropped his first punt return also. It looks like we are relying two injury prone players in (Campanaro and Webb) to handle our return duties, unless a proven returner becomes available when everyone cuts to 53.

Nelson earned a spot on this team IMO. It's not about what you do in practice. It's what you can do in game action. He even impacted special teams.

I agree he has good vision to hit the hole but he fumbles and he cant even take a kick to the house when he beats everyone. There will be a better option the Ravens will pick up when all the teams cut down again.

Problem with Asa is he thinks he is better than he is. He needs to humble himself. Stop thinking so much and just run.

1-3 in preseason. I think its safe to say this one of the worse preseasons we've had in a while. So what does this mean for the regular season. For me it means, don't any of our starters need to get hurt. We got torched by Philly, started winning in Washington, and let them come back and torch us, lost last night 20-19. Which tells me our 2nd and 3rd string players are not very good. We can not win 1 out of three games during the regular season and hope to make the playoffs. I hope the starters we have can stay healthy, because if not we are in a great deal of trouble. These back ups need to get better and fast.

It really shows that your team has more talented players than the other team.

The final score definitely does not show that.  We rested every starter and almost every major backup while the Falcons played their first and second strings throughout nearly the entire game.  Then we only "lost" because they didn't want to go to overtime and they tried a 2 pt conversion when they didn't need to.  And you think the score from that game represents anything useful?
