Good, Decent, and Ugly from Pre-Season Week 4 against the Falcons

101 posts in this topic

Not much changed from the prior preseason games.

KLM was my standout of the bubble players.  Everyone else on the bubble was a bunch of the same - some good plays and some bad plays.

Daniel brown locked up a PS spot

Asa flashed and flunked

Brenn renner looks like a real backup QB

Brandon beyer another PS candidate

Went 1-3 and even though it's preseason that still gives a sucky feeling

To me 5 players made a case to be on the 53 man roster and practice squads.

Daniel Brown - PS

Beyer - PS

KLM - 53

Cassius Vaughn - 53

Butler - PS

Asa - cut

Bilukidi - cut

Nelson - cut

Asa almost fumbled the ball on the nice return he had . Watch the tape when he initially catches the punt .

If he hasn't already, he'll go to Seattle

Marshawn is a bruiser and Fred is one too. They need a Forsett. We need Fred, and Fred would see more action @ravens

Asa is a frustrating guy ... but I would be nervous cutting him cause that potential does flash and he's still young.

Arthur Brown imo is the hardest call the coaches have to make. I don't think he makes it because Orr and McClennan are better on special teams and also better football players overall without his athleticism. I hope he makes it though...

Our backup RB all stinks. get Fred asap

Has he signed with Seattle already or still available?? Does he fit the zone scheme we run?

Year 3, going on year 4, fighting for 3rd string role on his last rookie year contract.

That is Arthur's future. Orr in the meanwhile I can see taking over mcllelan in mid season and switching over Daryl/Mosley seamlessly.

Arthur (if he makes the 53 roster) is almost exclusively a blitz package player. You can basically replace what Arthur do with any of our SS.

The Seahawks have been in need of solid back up running back that they can trust for  a minute now. Lynch is 29 years old and The Seahawks maybe want to limit his carries. I don't thiink they really  care about Fred being  a bruiser type running back like Marshawn. If they really did care about that then they wouldn't be showing interest in Fred Jackson  at all.

I thought he took a physical and going to multiple trips to weigh his options.

I think we have a chance of getting Fred

Marshawn is old, but so is Fred...not much of a replacement choice.

I think it might be tough but Brown has more upside than Orr and McClellan I think his special team play has improve and he looks a little more comfortable now. Maybe Orr and  McClellan are better special teamers but both of those guys have made some crucial mistakes on special team so far in this year preseason.

I have been KLM fan since we drafted him and the injuries have really sucked. I want him on this team. I think he can be good in time and staying healthy. I think he showed some of that today.

True but they both can play. Lynch is still one of the best running backs in the league and Fred is a better back up options than what The Hawks already have at running back.

Harbaugh said good things about Brown making it almost sound like he'll make the team. Then again, this is from the guy who told us Perriman was OK and would be out a week or whatever. I don't really listen to him much because he plays his cards close to the chest.

I also a Bryn Renner fan. I think he should be 3rd string QB. He has some clutch in him and is really competitive. I think once Matt Schaub retires Renner will be good for Joe.

Also, for real who is the PR/KR?

It has to be SSS at this point.

I just don't trust Asa. Sorry and Camp is so injury prone.

I miss you Jacoby. :(

Renner made some nice plays late.

Wasn't impressed by much at all from that game.

Asa is a tough call. He flashes ability and then he flashes liability. He's in his third year?  They've had trouble coaching him up it appears.
