[News] Late For Work 9/3: Joe Flacco Most Underappreciated QB In Football

62 posts in this topic

Where does this stuff come from...Joe is average during the regular season??

How is that possible to get into the playoffs every year, in a division with 3 playoff contenders, yet still play average during the regular season????

Gotta tell ya' folks... Usher in Flacco, the new Hottie of the NFL. He's confident and good looking; He's a great QB, wins games, and makes the playoffs interesting every year.

Because its a team sport?

Statistically, yes, he is average (maybe slightly above average) in the regular season.

The funny thing is, if the current buzz bout Joe's appearance spreads (let's face it, his lifestyle will never "wow" anyone), then he'll probably get more recognition for his play on the field. The Flacco elite conversation may be ultimately settled by his hairstyle and fashion sense.

We need a smash-mouth running back for short yardage, unless we use Juice, who I think could be that guy. Lorenzo possibly could be that guy but he lost weight this off-season and is currently injured. I don't want to sign another running back unless he is a bruiser, unless the FO thinks we need better depth than we currently have in case Justin Forsett goes down. I thought Fred Jackson could fit the bill, but I am not high at all on Montee Ball.

I think most of his average talk is due to never ranking higher than 11th in passing yards, and never having over 4,000. I'll take that and a bunch of playoff victories over Top 10 quarterback regular season play anyday.

Oz Please Call Fred Jackson!! Him on the goal line (if Forsett hasnt already run it in from 45 yds out) would be awesome in this offense!!

Isn't he pretty much slated to sign w/  Seahawks.

I do not understand Danny Gorrer's tweet.....BTW, What happened to him after we picked him up last year, is he still injured?

The fact that while we have 17 injured players, the Buccaneers got through the camp with as many as 4 injuries may speak volumes of the intensity of the two training plans - and also why the Ravens almost always pick in the last quarter of the first round while the Bucs seldom slip out of the top ten... When you get through the whole camp with 4 injuries, that's either an unfathomable level of luck, a collection of steel tough players - or not really intense training...

Injury plagued (worse than other teams in the NFL) plus some concern with WR play...

if history serves true, you know Ozzie has to be making calls..

remember that excitement people feel on the first day of free agency when teams make splash deals.. and the Ravens are typically quiet?.. Yeah, this is our time. I'm excited.

If we have the cap space, I would rather sign Tim Jennings, if he has not accepted the Bucs offer yet.

Flacco is still a long way away from nearing any records for most consecutive starts - even for a QB. Favre's 297 consecutive starts (321 if we also count the playoff games) seems like a record that will stand as long as there is an NFL... Joe would have to make every single start for more than 11 seasons (or 12 if we count the playoffs, too) - and that would even include one or two playooff games every season... to reach it. That would put Flacco at the age of 41 (or 42) and still a starting QB... Which, admit it, doesn't really sound overly realistic :D Joe is even far away of the best current streak for a QB, Eli Manning with 178 consecutive games, and he's even more than one season behind behind Rivers (153). Let's hope he'll end up ahead of them ;)

Oz will slow hand any deals like he always does, and wait for the final cuts Saturday to make his subtle moves that turn out the be gems as usual....Still wanted Phil Taylor if he is healthy...

Of course Joe Flacco is the most under appreciated QB In football! I live in NC and I have only heard the Ravens mentioned twice. Once for the Suggs "dirty hit" and again for Steve Smith's "fight". Yet I can't turn on TV or even Madden without seeing Steelers everywhere! Conspiracy theory wheels are turning in my head.

I am livid at the court decision that lifts Brady's 4 game suspension. How is that even possible? I don't care what nonsense justification comes out of the judge's mouth, that's a pathetic outcome and a black eye for the integrity of the game.

The only stat I care about is wins...which Flacco gets. You can put up 5000 yards a season, but if you're watching the playoffs at home instead of playing...it doesn't mean anything.

I hate the media

Wouldn't that be sad.....  but hey...  whatever floats it, right?

The Eagles are a bunch of babies. That is the reason they will go nowhere this season. Terrell tackled Bradford like he was a 6 years old girl, and they all screamed foul. They're all a disgrace to the sport. We all know what Joe is and so does Joe. The heck with the rest of the haters. I thought Prestons' column of coach Harbaugh was over the top, with a small small touch of truth. Go get them coach, we are totally with you. Go Ravens

I know it is part of the players cba but they really should abolish the appeals process for any suspension less than 4 games. It is an obvious scheme where the NFL hands down a 4 game suspension so they look like they are being tough on violations when everyone knows they will most likely be dropped down to 2 games or unbelievably in Brady's case dropped to 0. It's insulting that the NFl thinks we are this stupid.

Well, we sort of are.

After all, we go on fanboards and complain about how outraged we are about every little problem that happens, yet we still go back to our TV, seats, etc. and support the NFL with our time and with our money.

Its kind of hard to argue that we are smart in that aspect...

Flacco AND HIS TEAM gets.

This isn't golf. Wins aren't an individual statistic.
