Preseason 4 - Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons

This could very well be the first year in a long time where an undrafted guy doesn't make the roster, nobody immediately comes to mind. Thought Perry could do it, Easton at Center has been fine, Magee might make it because of injuries but none seem to be good enough to make it based on play alone

I have some concerns at backup RB.  I think Allen and Magee have done alright, but I don't know if I'd be willing to give either one of them a big role just yet.  They both look like RB3's right now, to me at least.

Fitz and Magee are the same player. One will be on the roster, the other on PS until LT recovers, unless we bring RB that gets released.

I think Fitz has done a little bit better tonight than Magee, but I think Magee has a little more of the skill set we'd be missing in LT.

Allen is better than people seem to think on here, he just hasn't had many reps with a competent OL to get him to the second level where he shines with his elusiveness.

What exactly did renner think would happen on those 2 dump offs?

He didn't think that much. He just threw at the first guy he saw open.

I'm a big Allen fan.  I don't think he's performed poorly or anything, but there's obviously still some work to be done.  He's got good vision but needs to hit the hole with more confidence.  I've noticed he's been dancing in the backfield a little too often.  He has the right idea.  He just needs to stop thinking about it and do it.

The last few roster positions are so difficult to select.

Agreed, do ya go with talent that is often injured or lesser talent that seems durable... Decisions decisions

Yes. I'm a little less worried than you though - I think Allen can carry the load. He is good. Put him behind our real OL + Juice and Gilmore and he'll do well.

it's the preseason...no team is running anything but vanilla plays...

last year we had a bit more going...(in pre season)

some pretty uninspired playcalling by trestman this pre-season

I tend to agree a little bit, where's all the big jump balls hes feature to guys like Marshall and Jeffreys in Chicago.  Maybe when Perriman comes back he'll open it up a little more

Agreed. He needs to refine his game a little more to fit the NFL style. I'm still confident he makes big strides this year, I think he will be better than Bernard Pierce and may end up taking over as the starter in a few years.

I wouldn't say worried necessarily.  I have concerns but I wouldn't be panicked or anything if we entered the season with Forsett, Buck, and Magee.  I just wonder if Allen can handle a full workload if Forsett were to go down (knock on wood).  I think he'll get there eventually, but I'm not sure if I see him as that guy just yet.  I'd take the chance if LT is going to miss a couple of games, but if it stretches a month or so into the regular season. I'd be looking for some more help.

I'm hoping it is just some form of echoing trauma from Cam because the resemblance to Cam Cam's regular season play calling does concern me a bit.

I really wish it wasn't Denver we were facing Week 1. I feel like we have a lot of unresolved issues right now.

Yup, that's how I feel too. Hard to showcase what makes him special when he doesn't have a hole to hit and use his famous jump cut.
