Crocket Gilmore getting no love

17 posts in this topic

So I did an NFL fantasy draft for the heck of it. I normally go 2 TEs for the year. I select my 2TE with my final pick. I'm a homer so I felt after that TD Gilmore made the other night that was called back, he would have a good year. I pick him. NFLs 2015 fantasy prediction from experts predict him to have 0.00 points for the year.

Why the hate for our boy?

Ya I have him in both my ESPN leagues. I think they had him getting like 200 yards this season haha. They think Williams is the starter for some reason

I'm not going to go so far to say that Crockett will be a top 10 TE, but he is being underrated as a solid back-end of a committee.  Much like our offense in past years, I think the consistency will not be there in terms of his production.  Sure he might have some great weeks, but he'll probably have a ton of dud weeks as well.  Guessing which weeks will be tough.

If I drafted him for a league. I would sell high after he has some solid games early. I expect the offense to chanfe a lot through the year.

After SSS, Crockett could become Flacco's favorite target. He could end up putting up the same numbers that Pitta did before getting injured.

I drafted him and Perriman. Drafted good WRs so Perriman is just a dream at the moment. Crockett I took after Eifert.

Off topic, did Tom Brady fall drastically in anyones draft?

I know he's suspended and all but still

Wow, I felt as if I was the only one that felt this way about Crocket. I have him in neither of my leagues Espn ppr (Owen Daniels and M Bennett) and Yahoo (Owen Daniels and Larry Donnell). I've been back and forth for the past week on whether I should drop Donnell or Daniels (Daniels old, injury prone, and Green creeping up behind him) for Crockett. I keep telling myself that Trestman loves TE and I don't want to get burnt and sleep on him like I did Forsett last year. Every website I look at downs Gilmore for Williams. Any advice?

Gilmore no question. He has dominated the Ravens TE position through training camp and has shown that he is ready to be that No.1 TE.

Crockett is going to be a beast....

My question is....  Do I replace Josh Hill or Delanie Walker with him.....

The thing to realize is that tight ends score the least amount of points in fantasy football, outside of guys like Olsen, Graham (pre-Seahawks), and Gronk. Plus, Gillmore is a first year starter who didn't even put up glowing stats in preseason with Maxx Williams sidelined. This is also before Perriman comes back. I know that touchdown was nullified in the most BS fashion, but he would still be putting up mediocre stats.

I think Gillmore can be a match-up based guy, but he's not someone I would start each week. As far as real football goes, I think he'll be a really solid tight end, but I don't think he'll be a great fantasy guy.

I hear you, I do believe as of now he's a back up TE fantasy wise. But with decent upside in Trestman's system. But with TJ Ward being out for the Denver game, I feel Crocket should be able to do some damage.

I feel Crockett could have a good game with Talib and Harris Jr. being the corners. I guess it depends on who else you have at TE
