[News] Eisenberg: Don't Be Surprised If Ravens' Ozzie Newsome Makes A Move

83 posts in this topic

I think it would be silly to add a tight end. A receiver that has speed and also can return kicks would be ideal. I also wouldn't mind picking up Fred Jackson on a one year deal. Unless they think Magee can fill in with tali being out. But he would be solid depth regardless bc Allen hasnt looked very promising. A lot of ppl humming about Tim Jennings too, but I'm not so sure we make a move In the secondary. We've had a lot of injurys in the trenches so a lineman on offense or defense wouldn't hurt either. Who knows, probably would have been easier to list the things we DONT need.

Offensive move? Are you freakin kidding me? How about the swiss cheese defense? I can't believe that the Ravens are so blind that they can't see the awful defense for what it is. The defense or lack thereof cost us at least 4 games last year, including the last one against New England. What the heck are they thinking?

Don't be surprised if we all prefer Cow's milk too! Come on! You're stating the obvious John. Remember it was just reported that the Ravens were interested in Fred Taylor?

We love Ozzie simply because he never stops making changes he can to make the Ravens better be it by a trade or otherwise.

And if Ozzies makes a move we could really use a reliable down field WR until Perriman returns, or atleast another Smith sr type..IE. Q Boldin, somebody like that. I know itll be a no name likely though

If we were any other team it would be time to panic 2 weeks b4 the start of the regular season and this team has more holes then Swiss cheese. But if any GM in the league Ozzie is the best man for the job, I have faith that he will do what it do and build a sb contender this year.

In Ozzie we Trust

If it's a Defensive player watch for Tim Jennings if he doesn't sign with the Bucs. Offense will probably come in the next set of cuts if we do add someone.

Still cuts to come and they will be juicier names considering they survived the first cut. I wouldn't be surprised if they added more O-line depth since it is falling to pieces. Receivers probably won't be mentioned because our receivers are just as good so far as the receivers cut out there. Defensive line needs depth because without Jernigan or Williams for as season the D-line will be walked all over. Outside linebacker would be good for Suggs and Dumervil to be rotated off the field for breaks more. Honestly almost every position would be better with depth.

We have plenty solid players, but no one who causes a bang and a flash. I like Magee and think he can do well, however, both him and Forsett are small and shifty guys and without Taliaferro we don't have a power back. Will Juice be able to take up the role? Previously, he was labelled a lot as versatile. Does that hold true? And is Trestman willing to test him?

Frankly I'm surprised we haven't seen it already. Tim Jennings should already be a Raven and starting week one opposite Smith. Forget the money, he is a very good corner that would fit in very well with Smith, Arrington, Hill and Lewis. The rest of the corners on our roster are backups, and that includes Webb, Melvin, Vaughn ,Walker and Jackson. Any time any one of them is on the field we are vulnerable.

Get a starting NFL corner and we have one of the best secondaries in the league. Right now it is probably top 10 if nobody gets hurt.

Ozzie alert!!!!! KC is going to have to cut some defensive starters. I hope they are corner backs. Grab their defensive players.

FYI...it is likely KC will have the best defense in the league and we will end up playing them min the AFC CH Game. So take their defensive backups they cant afford to keep....they are the best in the NFL.

Reid and Harbaugh are of one mind.....defense wins championships. Don't let KC hide their defensive talent overflow on the practice squad

Ozzie knows how to make the offseason fun for fans. Never know whos going to be signed. D. Smith, S. Smith Sr.. were both excellent additions. Hopefully K. Lewis will fall into this category.

If truth be told, we should've dealt for a stout D-tackle after Ngata's departure. Red Bryant comes to mind and the guy who went to the Skins is another we could've used. I think we need to shore up our D-line considering injuries to Brent Urban and Timmy Jernigan and the average play by Kapron, Tyson, Guy and Bilukidi. We need solid run stopping depth on our front line.

Taliaferro had knee surgery? I thought it was just an MCL sprain. When was this confirmed?

Exactly my thought. I was just as surprised when I read he had surgery. Why? Or was it a misprint?

I fully expect Ozzie to snatch a return specialist and/or veteran WR if one becomes available. And I wouldn't be shocked at all to see a veteran RB (for the veteran minimum, of course) come in - sorry, but Buck Allen has been the biggest disappointment of the pre-season for me so far - and even without that fumble. Until Taliaferro can come back, we don't have a legit depth behind Forsett...
