My Annual 2015 Predictions and Final AFC North Standings

LOL, clearly you didn't read the article very closely. Please take note of the published date of the article you are referencing... its from over two years ago.

Below is where you should be pulling your information from:

http://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/

It doesn't matter does it? The point being we are near the bottom of the league in cap space and that is not going to change in 2016. By adding that link from last year I was attempting to show a pattern for the Ravens. So we can't afford to bring in any big name players to help give us some motivation.

Bottom line is we are and will remain in a kind of salary cap twilight zone. I believe that ultimately that responsibility falls on the GM and head coach. Ozzie and Co. including John Harbaugh are not untouchable. People are on their way out. I stand by my predictions.

Well, but again, you are actually 4-5 in week-to-week predictions. So you could obviously be significantly better.

Yes I am human and therefor flawed and could always be better. However I am not 4 - 5 ! I am actually 8-1 in game predictions. If you look at the opening of the thread you will see I have us a 3-6 at this juncture of the season not 2-7.

1. Well it sort of does, because our cap position is far better than the year you referenced. That doesn't mean we have $40M to spend either, but that's not required. Most good teams in this league can't afford to bring in big name players, because big name players being signed as FAs generally don't help teams win SBs historically.

2. No, by adding the link from two years ago (not last year), you quickly tried to post something without properly vetting it and tried to pass it off as fact. You got caught doing so. It wasn't an attempt to establish a pattern, because posting a 2+ year old article referencing one single year can't, by definition, establish a pattern.

I don't care if the record you thought we would be is the same record or not, I care about the fact that you picked winners and losers of each game and you are 4-5 in those predictions.

You picked us to beat Oakland. We did not.

You picked us to lose at Pittsburgh. We did not.

You picked us to beat Cleveland. We did not.

You picked us to lose to SD. We did not.

You picked us to beat Jacksonville. We did not.

Throwing out a total number of wins/losses is not impressive.

I expect "famous Wizards" to be perfect.

Ok Ok you win this battle but the war rages on. I will consider myself a righteous wizard of the highest order.

When:

A. Joey Bosa comes to town.

B. Ozzie Newsome leaves town.

C. John Harbaugh and Co. skip town.

D. Dean Pees finds another town.

E. Ray Rice is run out of town.

The fact of the matter is, if it weren't for all the losses we would be undefeated right now.

What if Ozzie & John stay and draft Bosa? Ray Rice is already gone. Not sure why you're including him here.

I mean Ray Rice literally run out of town. He represents everything thats wrong with this great city.

I would settle for 1/2 half of Ozzie/Harbaugh to be gone Smh

I feel the need to bump this as I didn't think much of the post when it first came out.  Turns out the original poster was being spectacularly optimistic in his/her predictions.

Re Bosa, the Cowboys seem to be quite good at jumping right in front of us for draft picks.  I suspect they'll find a way to wrestle #1 from us.

well if jerry jones gives us 3 first rounders that that'll do.

Bosa is ours. The lions and Browns have other needs. A LT and a QB.

I thought he lived in Baltimore somewhere. I just heard he was supposed to make some domestic violence appearances?

I'm worried about the Cowboys too but they still have a shot in their division believe it or not and with Romo coming back this week the may win a couple more games. But when it comes to determining who picks first in the event of a tie in won-loss records it's determined  by the strength of schedule. So if the season ended today we would draft number 3.

We just have to get Bosa.. He is a perfect fit for us in every way!!

While he's a great player and we probably would take him, he's more of a prototype 4-3 DE as he's not really a speed rusher. Doesn't mean he can't play 3-4 OLB, but that probably wouldn't be his ideal position.

With Pees gone it is possible we could go to the 4-3 which alot of teams are doing.

Depends on the personnel. Brandon Williams wouldn't be nearly as good in a 4-3, and frankly neither would some of our linebackers.

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen I know you all were holding your breath waiting for this weeks prediction so here we go. It was a rough week for us here in the Baltimore football world. With the additions to IR and the ugly way we lost to the Jags the fighting spirit which has been transparent since early in the year is officially dead. The Rams still have dreams and Todd Gurley is for real. Our first double digit loss  31-20 Rams

I hate to admit it but I'm afraid you may be right about the outcome of the St. Louis game. We have a terrible record against Jeff Fisher coached teams and teams with only two victories this far into the season are noted for not winning any more games. Most noticeably would be the Houston Texans who started their season with two victories and finished at 2-14 with Matt Schaub at QB and Gary Kubiak at the helm. I hasten to point out though that if you are correct you will have missed on 6 out of the 1st 10 predictions you made in the original post. So, are you really a wizard or are you just clairvoyant? Either way, you knew something that the rest of us did not. I expected (hoped may be a better word) us to emerge from the first half with a record of 4-4 and then go 6-2 in the second half based on the home field advantage. I must admit that I sure didn't see this coming. I do hope you're wrong again but most of all I hope that we come out of the game injury-free.

In regard to your prognostication about the Buffalo Bills' chances of advancing to the SB, I hope you're right on that one. I've always been a big Tyrod Taylor fan. IMO, Tyrod Taylor is to Joe Flacco what Gary Cuozzo was to Johnny Unitas. Both were great college QBs who played locally in Virginia and had the benefit of great mentors on and off the field in Johnny and Joe.

Thanks for the accolades but there is no glory in being right about this. Unfortunately with all the problems we have this year there will be no easy fix. We have some good players but we have no identity or swagger and I'm seeing problems for some time to come. With teams like the Bengals, Pats, Bills, Steelers, Raiders etc all looking like teams on the upswing and all teams with huge offensive weapons it will be tough for us to compete and when you factor in our salary cap issues there is no way we can get some gunslingers in here to clean up Dodge City so to speak.

I think if we fire Dean Pees and go to a more 4-3 defense and draft Joey Bosa ( we can build around him ) we might be able to get the defense headed in a new direction. However whatever happens it's going to take time to rebuild this team. Not only have we been physically damaged but psychologically as well . Which is way harder to overcome. A couple of good examples of this are the Seattle Seahawks look how they have played this year after being intercepted like that in the Super Bowl. They really thought they were a team of destiny. So did we. Another example is Rhonda Rousey. After that beating she took she may never go back to MMA. We have been beaten all year and those kinds of things take a long time to overcome.

As far as Tyrod Taylor. I always thought we could have gotten so much more from him while he was here and am not surprised that he has turned the Bills around. Don't know if they are good enough to go to the Super Bowl but they will go to the playoffs and Tyrod will get them there!

Yeah, trying to play a 3-4 when you're not very deep at the linebacker position is tough. If the season plays out the way you think it will, its probably a foregone conclusion that Dean Pees won't be back.

I also felt we underutilized Tyrod when he was here. Just the threat of the pistol offense now and then is enough to keep defenses honest. I'm not sure why John Harbaugh didn't insist upon using him more. That's one of the inherent problems with successful teams --- its hard to argue with success.

Again, I hope your prediction for tomorrow's game is wrong, Nostradamus, but it would be nice if we were in a position to draft Bosa.

I

Wrong again and double-wrong since you said this would be our first double-digit loss.

and you think we won that game?. It was a double digit loss. We lost Flacco and Forsett-so tell me how did we win exactly?

Dude this is not bingo. This is the real world. How about telling the world how we won this game?

Well we scored more points so there is that. We lost the war(although it had been lost) but the battle today was a win.

I have no idea where some of the so-called fans come from in these threads but no real fan could ever gloat over such a hideous win as this. We not only lost the core of our team but todays "win" was a completely devastating defeat.

We scored more points than the Rams and it was a win. It's simple mathematics. I'm not sure how that eludes you if you're a wizard. Maybe math isn't your forte?

Losing Flacco and Forsett is horrible. Couldn't agree more. But you never predicted injuries and an attempt to save face by masking your failure under the guise of Flacco's torn ACL & Forsett's broken arm as a way of alluding to us losing by "double digits" is quite sad on your part. I think you're just <kidding> with us and joking around. I really don't want to think you're serious. I'm waiting for the "lol smiley face."
