[News] Late For Work 8/31: No Flag For Dangerous Hit On Kamar Aiken. Will It Draw Fine?

77 posts in this topic

Fred Jackson is out in Buffalo. I don't know who is going to be after him, but I think since the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills are in the same division, I think they will go after him. I wouldn't mind if we went after him either, but we all know that the Cleveland Browns don't have a running game either. So there are few teams out there that would make picking Fred Jackson up kind of hard.

Samari Rolle wasn't very good on the Ravens. Cary Williams was a knucklehead, but I'll take him over Rolle any day, going by their performances on the Ravens. And where in the world is Webbie on the list? He might be a shell of himself now, but he put together some impressive seasons around here.

If Ozzie or Harbaugh dont complain to the league about this awful tackle I think we all should get on the stick and do it. No place in football for that type of play. So glad Aiken is ok. Go Ravens.

Glad Aiken did not get hurt. He was lucky that the tackle left both his arms free, and he could land - by just a fraction of an inch - on his forearms first, and only then on his head. With one arm tied up in the tackle we would not be here talking about suspensions and fines, but rather jail-time!

How quickly you guys forget that Jacoby had a similar sprain during the 2013 and he missed about 5 weeks so give the guy a break... he was out there practicing... and sprained it laying out to make a play... its not like he did it horsing around... or falling down... so please let the young man at least have the opportunity to play before judgement is passed..

But wasn't this the injury to Jacoby when he was run over like a freight train by B Trawick? Jacoby was very lucky that this was his only injury when that happened, and definitely no fault of his own. I still think Jacoby was never quite the same after that extensive hit.

No he didn't and definitely not for the money. Chris McAlister should be in the ring of honor. Nobody was beter.

The hit on Aiken was outrageous . If I was the ref I would have thrown Robinson out of the game .Very disappointed Flacco came out with about 5 min left in first half. Team lost the mo and I did not want to see them lose even a pre season game .

Dear Baltimoreravens.com,

May we get an article summing up the players that have been released over the past few days that the Ravens could be looking at right now?

Out of the back of my head. 1- Trent Richardson RB 2- CB from the Bears 3- FS from the Giants 4- OL from the Colts 5- Okoye from the 49ers Dline

Idk if any of these guys would start for the Ravens but could provide some quality depth. Okoye is probably gonna be on someone's PS because the guy just started playing football 2 years ago. But the guy is faster than most linebackers in the NFL and stronger than most linemen. We develop Dlinemen better than anyone and I wouldn't be surprised if we could turn him into a gem.

I don't usually call people out like this but in Jah Ried's case I'm gonna say it. It's been quite some time now and this brother just can't get it together! Every time he starts picking up momentum 1 of 3 things happen. The guy is gets hurt, in trouble off field, or draws penalties and almost gets quarterbacks killed.

The Ravens have drafted like 40 players since he was drafted. I'd hate to see someone let go because we kept him on the roster instead of the PS. Id make him the first guy on the PS and if some other team clears his waivers then so be it.

I love my Ravens but I don't think Robinson's hit was all that aggregious. It was very aggressive but it was a solid tackle with the intent of dislodging the ball. And, guess what, the ball was dislodged...although it wasn't officially a fumble because the ground caused it. If it was a Ravens defender who made that tackle, we'd be making him a fan-favorite right now and calling it hard-nosed, AFC North football.

I respect Fred Jackson a lot as a player and as a man. That said, I don't think he stays in the division as hes too loyal to his Bills. I'v read a report that the Seahawks are front runners and he could be signed today. The Ravens have also shown interest. I honestly don't know what he can bring to the Ravens that we don't already have. After all he is 34 years old and probably has lost a few steps.

This means that Lorenzo Tall's injury is more concerning that reported. The Ravens have options tho..... Steven Jackson is sitting at home and averaged 3.7 yards for 2 years behind the horrendous Falcons line. He'd instantly be our best short yard back and could mentor LT when hes back.

A few more RB's will be available as the season gets closer so im not worried at all. I just hope the Ravens make the right call on whoever we bring because we probably have to let go of someone we drafted over the past few years.

I'm assuming you're speaking of Webbie. Yeah, the injuries hit him after he got the big pay day. There's a reason he got the big bucks, and all the fans around here were excited that he got the deal....a testament to his great play prior to the injuries. Without a doubt, McAlister was the best we've seen at corner for the Ravens. He's up there with the best of the Ravens greats.

For those of you reading who don't believe in miracles, you saw one Saturday night when Aiken stood up and walked around after that hit.

Have to disagree.  Whenever I see that play I have to cringe, not because it was a raven but because of the potential physical damage it may have caused to his spine.  I may not be a doctor but some things just aren't supposed to bend that way, especially with what seemed to be so much force behind it.  Even Aiken called it a dirty play.

You have never ever seen him in a situation he would be in, in a real NFL game - I mean him throwing to our starting receiving corps, behind our best O-line - and yet you would axe him. Based on how he performed with a much lesser receiving group, behind a much less ffective O-line...

Luckily, those who actually make the decision see the whole picture.

This guy is not a rookie, we've seen the whole picture as in losing his starting job in Texas with arguably one of the best receivers in the league and his career amounting to a pile of crap.

If the majority of the starters are still playing, adding one bench player to the mix shouldn't hurt the offense or defense too bad.

and the key word to your statement is "IF" the majority of our starters are still playing.   But yes, I agree with your statement.
