[News] Late For Work 8/31: No Flag For Dangerous Hit On Kamar Aiken. Will It Draw Fine?

77 posts in this topic

I was shocked there were no repercussions for Robinson after that hit. If he doesn't get a fine come Friday, I'll have a huge issue with the league. And by huge issue, I mean I'll probably come back here and vent, then eagerly awake week 1.

I think he shouldn't only be fined but should also be suspended. Kamar's career could have been ended on that play. Extremely dangerous tackle attempt considering this game meant nothing and it didn't only risk Kamar's career but probably also his life if his neck would have snapped.

Why no flag? Because the crew is incompetent. How they botched the delay of game call is puzzling. Either they all don't know how to count OR they just didn't feel like overturning their call. The refs are the ones that need the biggest improvement come week 1. Terrible.

No flag on Aiken tackle, Gilmore's TD should have counted, didn't reset the clock for the delay of game penalty.  Saturday's game should have been a blowout before halftime.

As far as Robinson, I'm sure he'll be fined.  The NFL is going to review the fight anyway. Once they see that Robinson's dirty tackle started the fight, I'm sure he'll be fined.

and why is it every week of every year these refs are so incompetent most of the calls never change only a few new rules are added. they a couple few years ago added an extra ref on the field so they could see more from all angles and these guys cant get calls right. They have to start doing something about Ref training and accountability as well Harbs needs to crack the whip and get his guys disciplined so they wont create so many penalties

The only thing I'm worried about is our depth; what I've learned so far this pre-season is our starting O/D is good but beyond that if we have to go to the bench and next man up we are in some serious trouble!!!

Schaub needs to go!!!

Schaub needs to go!!!

You have never ever seen him in a situation he would be in, in a real NFL game - I mean him throwing to our starting receiving corps, behind our best O-line - and yet you would axe him. Based on how he performed with a much lesser receiving group, behind a much less ffective O-line...

Luckily, those who actually make the decision see the whole picture.

I am not panicing but this week I am sooo expectant and optimistic. WE NEED SOME PEOPLE OFF THAT LIST.

Especially: Eugene Monroe, Osemele, Jernigan and Campanaro.

Im praying for Perriman and Maxx, however I must say I used Perriman in madden his seperation on that video games is out of this world. I just want to see the guy practice. PLEEEEEEEEEASE

If the majority of the starters are still playing, adding one bench player to the mix shouldn't hurt the offense or defense too bad.

On top of that, Flacco stated Schaub didn't even have time to warm up Saturday night.  Flacco said Schaub was put in the game cold b/c it was a last second decision to pull Flacco from the game.

I'll be ecstatic if these 3 are 100% healthy for Denver.

To add insult to injury (pun intended), beyond Robinson not getting a flag, there is a massive irony that Aiken was penalized after that play for "Unnecessary Roughness". NOTHING Aiken could have done was worse than the vicious, illegal hit on him by Robinson who got no flag. If Aiken had been carted off the field with a broken neck, MAYBE the refs would have "remembered" what the whole situation was about, 1 of the nastiest, outlawed and dangerous tackles that warranted not just a penalty, but an ejection. How could refs possibly fail on such a colossal scale?

I remember readign the forum during the game and after that play someone said that one of the Redskins coaches was one of the guys from NOLA Bountygate scandal. I wonder if we are seeing a new version 2 of that now in DC?

If nothing is done to that Robinson guy then all the leagues flags for hits to the head are a joke. This was far worse than those hits. Aikin could have been paralyzed for life.

As much as I don't like to see fighting during the game, I'm GLAD as heck Aiken's teammates retaliated for that cheap tackle.

Suggs' legal hit to Bradford (wrongfully flagged) last week was all the talk, but nothing on Robinson for this crap.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, some of these refs are showing that they have absolutely no clue how to officiate an NFL football game.... Half the penalties on the field are highly suspect to say the least. After many years of seeing this stuff, I am getting pretty perturbed by the lack of knowledgable referees on the field, and watching the result being a really lopsided, and sometimes unfair game. All just mho, though.....

You are exactly right, but he could have also been killed......

Ravens' depth on second and third strings is worrisome. It will be interesting to see if Ozzie finds any playmakers cut by other teams who might improve second string depth at the right price.

Inept refs are driving me absolutely nuts. I am worried enough about our injuries, but such bad officiating in the preseason leaves me very concerned, especially if this buffoonery extends in to the regular season. Of course, the vast majority of these absurd calls have hurt the Ravens far more than our opponents. Not a "conspiracy theory" kind of fan, but even if it's a coincidence, the refs are developing a pattern of bogus calls against the Ravens which could potentially cost us games or even a playoff spot.

One more thing that I have to vent about..... After the game on Saturday night, all the news was how Steve Sr was ejected from the game, just him, not much on the dangerous hit on Kamar...... Reading comments on some of these news outlets left me really p.o.'d, calling Coach Harbaugh the dirty coach with a dirty team, and mostly were skin fans thinking this hit was legal and completely awesome..... I am guessing this is what spectator sports has become, really pathetic and sad..... Rant over......

So.....perrimans still not practicing/playing?....what a surprise...where's all the "head in the sand" fans that said he's be ready??...Out for the year at best!....Get real, we made another 1st rd mistake at WR and should Never make that mistake again......I wonder if he could....well never mind i don't think he's qualified for that position either......Keep Tom Nelson!

Seems the refs favored the Redskins. It was obvious that tackle was illegal. Robinson did that thinking he was going to get a forced fumble and the refs would have let it happened. Good job Aiken. Im not even worried about the dead skins aka Redtails

I hate the Redskins. Now I see why that team has no success. I saw some very poor character from those players in that game. No wonder that organization is a joke.

Raiders and the Texans saw the whole picture in real nfl games................Hopefully those who make the actual decision based on his under performance will come to their senses and keep Renner and demote schaub the practice squad where he belongs......Or AXE him to where he really belongs.....
