2015 Cuts Tracker

Nah that's not it. He just sucks. He needs to shine from day one. Development is overrated.

Yeah the same applies to Waller, these guys don't need time to develop, these are just excuses for them being busts ;)

Melvin Gordon: 20 carries, 45 yds, 2.3 avg, 0 TD's

Buck Allen: 35 carries, 88 yds, 2.5 avg, 0 TD's

I guess the Chargers should cut their potential superstar 1st round pick, he just wasn't that impressive. Forget about developing talent, if they don't set the league on fire after being in the NFL for 3 months they will never amount to anything.

Gordon is showing the same issues that Buck has- poor vision and patience. It's just one was drafted far earlier.

I wasn't a huge fan of Gordon coming out because he had mack truck size holes to run through and he too often was stopped at or behind the LOS, but you know, I suppose he's still got time.

I kinda wish more teams were like this. In most cases, the team knows who they want to cut. Why does it take so long to inform the guaranteed cuts?

Buck's best quality is his vision. Watch his tape at USC. He just hasn't had many holes to hit in the preseason. I also think Gordon is a stud. People get way too invested in these preseason games.

Go look at Eddie Lacy's rookie preseason stats. 18 carries, 36 yds, 2.0 avg, then look at him now

I agree he has good vision but can he hold on to the ball?

If you want to get in Harbaugh's doghouse, fumble the ball. This angers him more then anything.

I agree. The tough thing about grading RBs in the preseason is that alot of what they do is based ipon the oline and the starting oline didn't play together much for the Ravens. If you watch Buck run he's really good at seeing the play develop and hitting the hole hard. The problem is the Ravens had olineman playing out of position and units tjat didn't play together so there's no continuity. Most of us become prisoners of stats instead of watching actual play and account for the other variables.

Buck is clearly the 3rd RB but i think he'll do well as the #2 until LT gets back.

Montee Ball's best attribute was his patience and vision at Wisconsin, too. It doesn't mean it'll carry over into the NFL. Trent Richardson certainly didn't look very powerful or elusive as a pass catcher or a runner even though those were his best traits.

Eddie Lacy also took until after the bye week to start playing respectable football.

And as far as Buck goes, he just hasn't displayed good vision or patience and I'd be very nervous about him being the number two back behind Forsett

Maybe we can lock Fred Jackson in Flacco's house and have the whole offense come there and play Madden with him and not let him leave until he signs with us resulting in the Seahawks owner frantically driving around trying to get Jackson's home address.

I doubt Paul Allen has the wherewithal or time to know or care about a potential free agent RB's impending hire, let alone call and find out his home address. I suppose he's one of those owners that has way more things going on in his life than the Seahawks!

BTW I do realize it was tongue in cheek - your post.

Montee Ball had more than decent rookie season as a backup. Injuries stopped him from improving on that last year.

This. Montee Ball had a respectable rookie year, 500+ yds, 4.7 avg.  If he got a starter's workload he was on pace for over 1000 yds. The guy was just banged up last year with that recurring groin injury and CJ Anderson really took off by the time he was getting healthy again. I wouldn't be surprised if Ball get's dealt tomorrow, he still has potential if he can stay healthy.

I don't see him being released from that roster. He might be trade candidate but Elway would be nuts if he just plain cut him.

OK! I heard that Perriman was seen walking through (not jogging) routes. Can he at least jog? If not, think he could he end up on IR??? That would be a twist.

If he can't jog after more than a month, it doesn't look good.

Nah.  IR would be pretty extreme

He had four good games against some bad defenses (Ten, KC, and Oak twice). I do think it's unfortunate that he got hurt, but it's not like I really would have foreseen him as the next big thing, personally

Far from the next big thing, obviously but apart from couple games where he just plain sucked, he did OK with limited opportunities.

For someone who was as highly touted as Ball, I would have expected to see more

But OK is a good word

I'd cut Walker and Myers and try to resign them to practice squad but thats mainly cuz my ego is not that big. I'm not keeping somebody cuz of potential and it should be about the team this year. I'd have kept Pointer over Walker and I'd definitely keep Jensen over Myers.
