I was correct about Robert Myers not making the team when we drafted him. Never saw anything.

Just for fun, show me the post.

Just checked here and you never chimed in on this particular thread - http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/63689-welcome-to-baltimore-nick-boyle-and-robert-myers/page-1

But I am sure you told a buddy or something...

Steelers cut safety, Holliman.

Texans cut, Louis Nix and kurtis Drummond.

I wonder how nix would fit here.

Nix probably won't play again, his knees are trashed.

Hilloman got cut?! Wow! I wanted us to trade for him. He got 11 picks last year.

We will never again take player that cannot tackle after what happened last year

Holliman was adverse to tackling , contact, run support etc, us he was labeled as un-athletic

i would love to know what happened to kurtis drummond between college and now.. what a tumble he's taken in just 1 year, wasnt he a first round projection at one point?

also i like louis nix and with the way our DL has been getting banged up i think its worth a shot, would love to see him coached up by clarence briooks

Louis Nix has shot knees, does not work as hard as you'd expect and is not the great fit for our D.

This kinda makes you wonder about our G position after this season. I think we all thought he would be KO's replacement while we re-signed Yanda but with him cut, kinda makes you wonder.

The Jah Reid era finally ends.

No surprise with Jackson. But as others have said PR is an issue.

Interesting that we cut a 5th round pick, he must have been really terrible. Or he'll end up on the practice squad.

I don't think he was terrible at all. We've kept was guys around who were terrible in the past. Just think it boiled down to the Ravens having a ton of young talent else where.

Also think about this, 8 out of the 9 guys Ozzie drafted not only made this team but at least 6 of them ( Perriman, Maxx, David, ZDS, Boyle and Buck) will contribute on a weekly basis. That's pretty good. Not to mention last years draft class is pretty much playing major roles. The Ravens just ran out of spots on the 53. If he doesn't get claimed i think he returns because he played well enough imo

Well you were one better than me. I had Vaughn and Myers both in my 53. I got 51 of 53. So yes, you'll make it at least over me!

yea but i waited last minute and i'm sure that Asa pick will hurt me. Came so close to not clicking his name but the fact that Camp was held out of Thursday game made me think Asa might get lucky.

Correction. I had 51 correct. I had Vaughn making it as well. So i had Vaughn and Asa making the roster over Trawick and i can't remember the final player.

wow I remember Drummond was my favorite player in the draft. He was a top 15 prospect at one point. I wonder what happened. I like Holliman initially but he is softer than a baby's butt then that steelers stench is on him too lol. Brooks is better than both anyway.

That sucks, well sucks for me. I had 52 out of 53 on the pick your team. I had Asa over Trawick. Maybe I'll still make it.

As for the roster seems like it played out the right way. Now the question becomes who was the guy cut or Urban that'll return tomorrow or Monday? Also it doesn't technically count but i feel getting a draft pick for a rookie UDFA should keep the streak of Ozzie finding a UDFA gem alive.

I had 52 as well. I had Vaughn making it and not McClellan I believe.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if we prioritized keeping Kaleb Johnson around over Robert Myers.  I think there's absolutely room for both on the practice squad, but Johnson was very impressive.  He looks like the prototypical ZBS guy while Myers looks a little out of sorts in the scheme.

Just not that guy. It was just my opinion and everyone else is entitled to theirs.

But i don't have an issue with you pointing it out for me lol

props man. You called it. And you not rubbing it in makes you that much cooler right now. I stand corrected, definitely did not see that coming, thought he would Atleast catch a phantom injury. Edited by January J

Pretty relieved we cut Asa at least though, way to inconsistent at returner for us and not worth keeping around because he was arguably marginally better than what we had. Was pretty bad at CB for us as well, just not worth keeping around

no kidding. This can't be stressed enough. Huge relief we didn't just "settle" for Asa.

Yeah, Meyers is a nose on nose blow a guy up type.  In his defense ZBS is a pretty heady scheme and it's a big adjustment.

This will be very unpopular but i wonder if it's an option. I believe Asa Jackson qualifies for the veteran PS spot. Do you hold onto him as a possible option later should Camp gey hurt or you can't find a viable replacement?

I think he was cut because of lack of trust. This option will allow him to continue to practice with the team and earn that trust back. OR do you just wash your hands with Asa Jackson? I think it's the latter but i do still see RS as an issue.

I definitely think we Atleast try to p.s him ,. Not sure of he clears waivers though. I guess he should. I mean he is a pretty explosive returner. Another team in need of depth at cb and in need of a returner may give him a look.

I don't think The Ravens were really expecting Jensen to play so well which really just overshadowed Myers. It's quite possible Myers could end up being something special or atleast serviceable in future  if he is bought back.

Yea you could see his struggles with the cut off blocks and getting to the 2nd level at times. Bt i thought he played well in a phone booth as they say. I'd like to keep him and see where he is next year with Castillo's coaching.

That's a good way to put it because i had Asa making the team and i definitely settled on there not being a better option when i made my decision. Asa wasn't one of the best 53 period.

With only 5CBs Trey Walker better get ready to see plenty of ST snaps and maybe even was sub packages.

I am disappointed with the Vaughn cut.

Seemed to me at least he was one of the better players on the field Thursday night.

He will be on practice squad if someone doesn't grab him , which i don't think they will.

Remember that year, last year maybe(?) when John Simon balled out in the final preseason game and got cut? It happens often. Im just glad that KLM and Bilukidi didn't fall victim to this because both guys left it all on the field and they playes 80%-90% of the snaps.

What makes you eligible cuz they have 2 veteran slots they can use?

I blame the broadcast from Thursday night for not knowing the rules.  They said so many guys could be there but they were dead wrong.  The "veteran" spot is simply for a guy that has accrued more than 2 seasons (2 used to be the cutoff), and up to 3 seasons.  Essentially, they're letting 2 guys that have 1 more year of experience join.
