No way we cut Myers. As stated earlier, the team doesn't cut 5th round draft picks. This must be a mistake!

Lol

I know right!........lol

You'll be showing great restraint by not saying "I told you so" ...

Just not that guy. It was just my opinion and everyone else is entitled to theirs.

But i don't have an issue with you pointing it out for me lol

I imagine a vet RB is on the horizon with Magee and Toussaint both being cut.

I'm not sure where we'd make the cut, but I imagine a KR and/or CB is also something being discussed heavily.

Pretty relieved we cut Asa at least though, way to inconsistent at returner for us and not worth keeping around because he was arguably marginally better than what we had. Was pretty bad at CB for us as well, just not worth keeping around

This will be very unpopular but i wonder if it's an option. I believe Asa Jackson qualifies for the veteran PS spot. Do you hold onto him as a possible option later should Camp gey hurt or you can't find a viable replacement?

I think he was cut because of lack of trust. This option will allow him to continue to practice with the team and earn that trust back. OR do you just wash your hands with Asa Jackson? I think it's the latter but i do still see RS as an issue.

PS, we cut a 5th round pick...

Bump. lol

I thought Vaughn played quite well in preseason and  he seem to be good on special teams. I'm surprised he was cut especially since he has plenty of playing experience as a starter and etc.

As of now I would've kept him over Walker but we do have good corners ahead of him. Most likely a scratch on gameday.

They already came out and said that Camp would be the primary punt returner so I don't know if they would keep him purely to be the kick returner, especially since he has played poorly at CB and that is before we get to him fumbling. I think we need a returner but I am starting to think we sign someone from elsewhere to fill the void there, don't think KR is that important anyways as teams just boot it through the end zone.

The fact that we hardly got the chance to actually evaluate anyone at KR, especially in the preseason, should be telling in the overall value of the position nowadays.

It's not the KO Return i'm worry about. Its the Punt Return. That position has so much impact on a game and we saw how poor decisions can cost the team with Asa. If we were hesitant to put Webb back there because of health concerns, that would make Camp just a younger version. I think Camp will be really good at it, just not sure how he holds up injury wise. Bit i definitely think he should be the guy right now given how things played out.

Yeah if Camp gets injured then that is something I would think about but I guess it would also depend on who we bring in once Urban goes. I think there is a pretty decent chance we sign our potential returner then

i am shocked about myers getting cut, have the ravens ever done that?

Without digging I don't think one ever that high. Hopefully we get him on the PS

What makes me more curious now is if there have been any rookie draft picks we have cut who came back and contributed at some point in the future.

KR is really a luxury these days. So many touchbacks and and with the few opportunities you get, you need to have a real threat to make a difference (and they are few and far between). In the end, you can  just take the ball on the 20 and go from there.

PR is a different story. Allowing a ball to bounce instead of fielding (and vice-versa) can be costly. In bad weather, fielding it is a huge challenge and mishandling it can cost you the game. Camp is supposedly our guy, but will he stay healthy? Webb can field them, but he has health issues as well. We can use him when receiving the ball deep in our own territory and demand he call a fair catch (as we did with him last year). SSS is too valuable to ask to do this job.

So really this is still a bit of a concern (but probably not our biggest concern).

Watched any Hard Knocks this year? Charles James can do it all!

The Jah Reid era finally ends.

No surprise with Jackson. But as others have said PR is an issue.

Interesting that we cut a 5th round pick, he must have been really terrible. Or he'll end up on the practice squad.

Either that or Magee is the one who fills the slot that will be vacated by Urban being moved to IR DFR.

I know I've had some who seem to disagree that we shouldn't be comfortable with Forsett's only backup being Allen. I think Allen will be good, but I think he needs a little more time before I feel confident that he can function as a #2 RB.

It's pretty silly though that we hung onto Reid all this time when he was terrible and cut him once he becomes decent.

Cutting Myers has shocked a lot of people but the guy who took his spot, Jensen, was in a similar spot a few years ago. He was a raw prospect who needed time. However, with Jensen he ended up on IR instead of us needing to outright cut him. I don't think we'll have any problems getting Myers through waivers and onto the practice squad.

Now Jensen is a pretty valuable player since he can play all 5 positions pretty well.

That sucks, well sucks for me. I had 52 out of 53 on the pick your team. I had Asa over Trawick. Maybe I'll still make it.

As for the roster seems like it played out the right way. Now the question becomes who was the guy cut or Urban that'll return tomorrow or Monday? Also it doesn't technically count but i feel getting a draft pick for a rookie UDFA should keep the streak of Ozzie finding a UDFA gem alive.

Well you were one better than me. I had Vaughn and Myers both in my 53. I got 51 of 53. So yes, you'll make it at least over me!

Steelers cut safety, Holliman.

Texans cut, Louis Nix and kurtis Drummond.

I wonder how nix would fit here.

Hilloman got cut?! Wow! I wanted us to trade for him. He got 11 picks last year.

i would love to know what happened to kurtis drummond between college and now.. what a tumble he's taken in just 1 year, wasnt he a first round projection at one point?

also i like louis nix and with the way our DL has been getting banged up i think its worth a shot, would love to see him coached up by clarence briooks

EDIT: ive read he was let go for injury reasons and major maturity issues, so much that people from ND are surprised he lasted 2 seasons. maybe not...
