Candidates to Rise/Fall across the board

2 posts in this topic

Every year there is a player in the nfl draft that raises their stock from 2nd-mid rounder(pending) to relevancy/first rounder. Last year it was Kevin White. The year before it was Odell Beckham Jr. There is just a guy that breaks out and turns into a stud, and gets drafted higher. It doesn't have to be a first rounder. Look at Tyler Lockett. He was a mid rounder at best before last year. Lane Johnson's massive combine caused him to rise as well. Marcell Dareus. There's several more.

There's a few candidates who will also fall. Take Marqise Lee. Remember when he was the next big thing?

I'll update this throughout the year but I'll give a rise and a fall candidate.

Rise: Sterling Shepard WR Oaklahoma.

Shepard has strong hands, possibly the best in the country that I have seen. He's got good speed and toughness and is not a bad route runner. He's small(5'10 190 pounds), but he's got a toughness to him. He's currently projected as a mid round selection but given his toughness after the catch, strong hands, and speed, I think he's going to rise to the second round. Check out his tape if you get the chance.

Fall: Tyler Boyd WR Pittsburgh

I don't think he's bad. I think Treadwall and Dural are better. Add in the DUI, and the fact that there are a few WRs better and I think he will be the third/fourth WR taken on draft day.

I'm just going to focus on a couple QBs for now, I'll do another later:

RISE: Jared Goff, QB, Cal

probably my favorite guy in the draft that we have 0 chance of taking. Right now most mocks have him as a second rounder, you may be able to find one where he sneaks into the late first. Super underrated right now. Great arm and can just flick the ball a mile. Does a good job of going through his progression and not staring down receivers, not to mention a tad bit of athletic ability. I think he could go top 10, maybe top 5 barring some kind of injury. The guy just has pretty much everything you want out of an NFL QB save for maybe putting on some weight at only 210.

Bonus: Gunner Kiel from Cincy, I have doubts that he'll make it to the first but maybe 2nd. With a solid season who knows.

FALL: Christian Hackenberg , QB, Penn St.

I never got why this guy was getting so much love coming into this season. His tape doesn't look good, and i know i know "he has no weapons at Penn st." Even though thats true you should still be able to see something but with him you just don't. He's got the size but the mind just isn't there. Maybe he'll prove me wrong this season.
