HA! I had to know what reat meant.

You guys have minds like steel traps... However, now, I do remember that thread...  Holy Cow.

Not speaking for the reat of you, but I didn't find that thread all that funny.

This has been a tough preseason to smallow.  If it makes anyone feel better we were 2-2 in preseason in 2012.  I think I'm more interested in seeing the back ups simply play up to potential.  A win against Atlanta is nice, but I want to see them come out of this with no imjuries and better execution particularly among the young receibers.

There is a faction who may even still come around that really only care about what uniforms the team is going to wear. Lol like every post is uniform related. I remember that thread it was great that everyone finally lashed back a little

Or the thread where they were discussing numbers and some one said " The number seven looks cooler than the number four. "

and someone said " Eight is not an intimidating number "

Come to think of it,,,,,  I may well have fallen for a well executed prank.

If so,,,, well played posters.  Well played indeed.

Okay, time to get back on topic.

Its the low point in pre season.  We get bored easily.

I can assure you we will be less random around about September 13th.

( Do note I said less. )

Here are some guys I think will end up on the roster with a good showing tomorrow night.

1.) Kapron Lewis-Moore DL- Tyson's shoulder injury could be serious and if it is KLM has a good chance to stick with a good showing.  I am pulling for him.

2.) Cassius Vaughn CB- I believe the 6th corner spot comes down to Vaughn and Jackson.  Jackson has underperformed as a corner but is our only realistic returner at this point.  This battle will be interesting

3.) Terrence Magee RB- Whether Magee makes the team is entirely up to Taliaferro's health and recovery.  Magee is a good, hard runner who at worst deserves a spot on the PS

4.) Jah Reid OL- He has played much better this offseason then his other previous ones.  With that said, he needs a big game on Thursday to seal a spot.  I ultimately believe his spot will go to Jensen if healthy.

Those are my 4 guys who can either earn a spot or be cut Saturday.  I think about 50 spots are pretty much sealed up and the last remaining few could go to any or all of these 4 guys.

Who do you guys think is on the bubble and needs a good performance tomorrow night?

1. I think Tyson is on the team no doubt. KLM is in a battle with Bulikidi IMO. Both will need to have big games IMO. They are very close and usually I'd have both on the 53 but injuries at other position might mean only one stays.

2. Unless you can find someone outside the organization to play CB and RS, AJax will be on this team. For as much as people has written him off as a CB, he's played better then every other CB battling for that 5th CB spot. IMO it's Vaughn vs Pointer for that final spot if the Ravens decide to keep 7 CBs and right now I have Pointer as the better player.

3. Everyone seems to think that with LT going down, Mcgaee is that guy. But I'd hold off on that. I love Mcgaee's running style but neither he nor Buck impressed last week. I was not surprised at all with the news that the Ravens had interest in Fred Jackson and wouldn't at all be surprised to see a veteran RB signing after cuts.

4. I disagree with Reid playing well thus far. He's been average at best playing Guard and really bad at the Tackle position, especially LT. I'd grade Reid and Myers about neck and neck in terms of Guard play thus far. With Hurst and Yanda's ability to play RT, I'm not sure Reid can force the Ravens to keep him.

Hey aren't we a little thin at TE right now?  With Max banged up I'm concerned about the idea of Crockett being put out there with a bunch of guys trying to make a name for themselves in a last ditch effort to make a team.

I am not so sure about Tyson.  His shoulder injury looked like it could be serious and if it is, then I think KLM makes it.  I think we only keep 6 defensive lineman this year with Urban getting the IR-DFR.  I agree with your other points, but I really think Vaughn has played better then Jackson and Pointer.  I am curious to see if Magee gets any shot at kick returning tonight, maybe he can steal the job from Jackson.

Boyle and Reuland will take all the snaps tonight.  All of the starters including Gilmore will not suit up tonight. No worries for Gilmore

I think KLM will have to have a big game tonight. Just looking at the rotation and the on field play. Bulikidi enetered the game before both Tyson and KLM and he performed well. KLM came in strong once Tyson left the game, so Tyson may very well be the odd man out.

I just don't see it with Vaughn. He's done well not to get his name mentioned, but he's struggled a bit with his assignment and technique. There were a couple times where he got sucked up into play action while in man coverage and his guy didn't even attempt to block. He just allowed his guy to run free to attack the run.

For as much as everyone seems to be down on Asa, he was the first CB off the bench and played well in the slot with the first team D. He played well both inside and outside. I only gave him 2 negative plays at CB. The TD he gave up and a play where he took too long to shed his block and got ran over. I can't remember any other negative plays off the top of my head. In terms of the return game, he's had one negative play that was a huge one, but i can't see anyone but Camp taking that RS job from him. Not saying he's the best, but I'd be surprised to see him cut unless there is a outside guy brought in.

Run all the starters for the entire game and throttle them. Win at all costs, even if it means losing all of our starters by the end of the 4th.

Huge game!!!!

Oh wait, never mind. I'm not even going to watch most likely.

Ah got it.  For whatever reason I was thinking Reuland was the guy who broke a leg or something.

I agree KLM needs to have a good game to secure a spot tonight and maybe that wont even be enough.  I am just not a fan of Bilikuidi so that probably has swayed my judgment.  I hope KLM shows tonight and he makes it, the kid has been through a ton its amazing he is even being considered for a spot.

You make good points with Jackson and Vaughn, Jackson definitely does not have much competition at returner.  If we keep 6 corners (which I cannot see how we don't) then I believe the its between Vaughn and Jackson.  I really like Vaughn's starting experience, but like you said Jackson's most likely going to make it because of his returner job.  Campanaro is to fragile to have returning now.

Or maybe neither of them make it and we pick up Tim Jennings. Who knows . Asa does have the upper hand with the returner experience, but to be honest I would be MUCH more comfortable with Vaughn. That's just me.

I have KLM making the team but he might be that guy who floats back and forward between the active roster and PS. At least early on while decisions are made on Urban, Taliaferro and others. I've been impressed with him and knowing what he's over makes you root for him even harder as you pointed out. I expect him to play well tonight.

Not sure why you wouldn't like Bilukidi. He a solid player and one of those unsung role players for the Dline. But i get it, as fans we like who we like, doesn't mean you're rooting against the other guy. But i like how Bilukidi works on that dline, i don't think he's as talented as KLM overall but definitely a hard working solid player.

I wouldn't be comfortable with either seeing a large role, but if we're talking a sub package, i'd be more comfortable with Asa. I definitely agree that a FA or Traded player could be brought in. I like the long term potential of Walker, but if the Ravens have to count him, Asa or Vaughn it's trouble imo.

Sucks that Nick Easton and Kaleb Johnson probably wont make the roster despite their performance.

"One of the things you learn watching preseason is just how bad backup offensive line play is league-wide. When you get down to the second and third teams, the O-line is regularly getting destroyed by the D-line, so when somebody stands out from that crowd it can be significant. Easton has been the highest-graded rookie center so far in preseason, by some distance. He may not have been facing first-team defenders, but he has graded positively against the run every game, and has allowed just one hurry over 123 snaps."

"Completing our little run of O-linemen here is Baltimore’s Kaleb Johnson, giving the Ravens a pair of backup linemen excelling so far. Playing as a backup left guard, Johnson has graded well as a run blocker in two of his three games and has yet to allow a pressure or penalty of any kind in 153 snaps of play."

Bilukidi is a hard worker I'll give him that.  I don't necessarily not like him, I think its more along the lines I like KLM and Guy better then him.  Id like it if we could keep 7-8 DL because I think all these guys can play.  At the end of the day who I like and don't like is irrelevant, I want them to put the best 53 out there and if Bilukidi is one of them then ill learn to like him haha

Yea one or maybe even two of those guys benefited from Urban being injured. I actually thought if Urban stayed healthy that he, Guy and Davis could have handled the DE position without Canty. So i know what you mean about wanting to keep all those guys. I have the Ravens keeping 7.

Williams, Jernigan, Davis, Guy, Canty, Bilukidi and the final spot will be determined tonigh between KLM and Tyson. After going back to watch the Skins game again, KLM has the edge right now.

Has anyone heard if Tyson is playing tonight?  He didn't practice after Saturday's game with his shoulder injury.  I guess by not waiving/injured this week he must be good to go for tonight's game.  It is odd that we have not heard anything about his injury yet, but I guess we will see in a couple hours.

If he didn't practice all week I'd assume he's not playing.  They may have just wanted to see what happened in this game before deciding what to do with him (IR, release, waived/injured, etc.).
