Does it seem like all the teams around us are signing players right and left? I am getting so angry with the O's, why haven't we signed someone good yet? The only big bats left are Adam Dunn, Barry Bonds (says he wants to play) Bobby Abreu, Manny Ramirez, Garret Anderson, Ivan Rodriguez, and a few more. There are a few good pitchers left, Oliver Perez, Derek Lowe, Andy Petite, Tim Redding, Odalis Perez, and some others.

Cubs got Milton Bradley

Rays got Pat Burrell

A's got Jason Giambi

Indians got Carl Pavano

Giants got Randy Johnson, and Edgar Renteria

Yankees got Tex, and Burnett

Phillies got Raul Ibanez

O's got???
Mark Hendrickson
Cesar Izturis
Ryan Freel

So far these signings have made us a World Series contender.

It's all window dressing and lip service. The Orioles are the worst run organization in baseball. Has been for quite some time. Until that changes (ie boot Angelos), the Orioles will be relegated to a farm team for the rest of the league. This may sound bitter, but it's true.

I knew from day one Tex would never sign here. The Blo's offered a contract they knew he would not take so they could save some face with the fans. They will be able to come out this season and say we tried to get a major player here and he did not want it blah blah blah. I can see right through the charade. So this pitcher from Japan is supposed to make up for another year without a major talent acquisition? What a joke of a club.

I kind of like the Uehara signing. He seems like a great player.

And you guys say we have a bad team right now?!?!?

Outfield- Adam Jones (good), Nick Markakis(great), Luke Scott (good hitter, solid fielder)
Infield- Huff (good), Roberts (good), Izturis (decent), Mora (good), Wieters (soon great)
Pitching- Guthrie (great)
Bench- Freel (good)

Where is this a bad team? We got bad pitching, not a bad team. Get it straight

Pitching is part of the team...we have bad pitching therefore we have bad team.

My frustration is obvious; never meant to make it seem as if I hated the blo's. However, after spending thousands of dollars on blo's merchandise, tickets and concessions over the years it gets to me. Why continue wasting my hard earned money on an owner that seems like he couldn't care less?

Maybe they can turn it around in a year or 2 in the rebuilding phase. But they have been in this phase for 11 years now...I am not holding my breath.

We have a good team, the pitching is just very bad at this time. I would like us to get a big bat before the season starts, someone like Adam Dunn. The bright side is our farm system has a very bright future with a lot of talent in it. Our 09 lineup does not look that bad, if we just get some pitchers we can compete.

Here is something I found that is very interesting on Koji. Koji does not walk people at all, compared to our old buddy Daniel Cabrera Koji's walk numbers are excellent. I just hope this all can translate great in the MLB.

Number of walks given from 99 to 08.
Innings Pitched
1999- 24 Walks 297 2/3
2000- 22 Walks 131
2001- 28 Walks 138 2/3
2002- 23 Walks 204
2003- 23 Walks 207 1/3
2004- 23 Walks 163
2005- 22 Walks 187 1/3
2006- 21 Walks 168 1/3
2007- 4 Walks 62
2008- 16 Walks 89 2/3

We did do good hitting last year pitching was just bad. If we can add about just 1 or 2 more good pitchers and 1 big hitter, we can be a big surprise heading into 09.

Ya, to bad no big pitchers left in F/A. I hope we call up Matusz for a game or two and see if he is ready. And Weiters will be that 1 more big hitter in the lineup
