[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Redskins

50 posts in this topic

I'm hoping some of these players are being held out because it's preseason and they need the rest and would be on the field for regular games. I can see Webb missing because hamstrings are bad, but Campanero, Monroe, KO, and the rest of the starters NEED to be ready.

I am glad in a way that RG3 isn't playing. I think he is bound to get injured sooner rather than later regardless. Even if the contact is absolutely clean, I know some of the media will pounce on any opportunity to invent another "dirty player, dirty team" allegation. I am fine with RG3 going down against somebody else so we can avoid the RG3 and general Redskins ongoing dramas as well. All I care about is coming away from this game injury and scandal free.

Considering the fact that RG3 was never the same after his initial injury vs the Ravens in his 1st season, I'm sure they don't want him facing us tomorrow.

Agree 757. My first thought was the history of RG3's initial injury a few years ago at the hands of the Ravens. Now add RG3#2015 off of another recent injury, vulnerable to further or additional injury during a Ravens game again, even with the slightest contact. Now lets mix in last week's Suggs' totally legal and legit hit against another QB which the media whipped in to a frenzy. Finally, let's add the base ingredient of the Redskins and RG3, an ongoing media mainstay of chaos and drama. Whoa boy, that could be a nasty recipe. No sweat off my back if RG3 sits out this game. Just get back to Baltimore healthy and avoid becoming a story line in any DC or national diversionary drama. Denver matters, RG3 and DC don't.

Waller will make the team for being 6'6 and running a 4.40....His route running has been better than expected, and Flacco has been targeting him a lot in the first 2 games....

I know what your sayin but I don't really think even if rg3 did get injured that people would come to that assumption. Rg3 is now so known for being fragile and gets knocked around like a rag doll- plus most all analysts know better than to make an accusation like that, which is why the majority took up for Suggs the other week. Ofcourse there are always a few bad apples in every bunch that pull stuff out of their behind, but i kind of wish rg3 would have played so our defense could have had a feild day and took advantage of his vulnarability. Could have been good for morale. But either way we can do the same thing to cousins or McCoy I suppose & I agree nothing really matters except Denver. Edited by January J

Webb is missing to much time for the past few years and I hope Camp is not going to be like Webb, out more than he is in!!!

Bonehead move to have Asa Jackson as our kick returner. Forget about whether one of our corners get injured or not..right? But most importantly, is our staff just looking for someone to fill the KR spot on paper, or actually get a guy that can make plays for us on special teams and put our offense in a good spot? Because ummmmm, I don't remember hearing about Asa having some kind of break away speed nor ability to make guys miss. I thought Harbaugh was a special teams guy, c'mon coach.

Lets not forget, we have Keap and Wilson this season, So its nice to go against a running qb during the preseason, just to get the defense ready for anything.  But RG3 definitely hasn't been the same since the Ngata hit.  Before that hit I would have rated him above both Keap and Wilson, Now there's no way anyone would do that.  And  it seems like the head coach is trying to make him more of a pocket passer.

i don't think Flacco's time will be limited, i mean Urschel and Jensen started when Wagner and Monroe were out, and that was down the playoff stretch and into the playoffs.....

To go against another scrambling QB would have its advantages for the experience gained for our defense. Not sure if RG3 would have been scrambling as much though this week had he played though due to his injuries. My point is about the potential for unwanted drama. There are so many factors that some tiny thing could tip the scandal scales and waste precious focus and energy needed to get the team ready for the season opener. Maybe most media people would not jump on the Ravens or Suggs bashing bus, but still enough controversy was generated over the Bradford hit that forced the focus away from other priorities. Some of the unjustified negativity and attacks on character were by a few of our own local media as well. Just saying if RG3 sits this one out, I really don't care. The Ravens have enough to fix and focus on with football fundamental improvements to not waste what little time we have left before the season begins with side issues, whether real, imagined, distorted or invented. And, most important, please let's get out of this game without adding more injuries to the heap.

The Ravens like Hurst at LT. It will be a good look if he gets to face the high motor Kerrigan. I hope we open things up in this game and pick on their secondary. Flacco needs some good vibes going into Denver Week 1. More than anything, I want this team ready for that game. The city of Baltimore is begging for home field in the playoffs. An AFC championship in Baltimore would be a dream come true.

Webb renegotiated his contract, but we are pretty much stuck with him for the next 2 years, and would still be hit with some dead money if we let him go in 2017. We should sign all CB's to 4 year contracts or less. It's so hard to stay at the top of your game. Chris McAlister was the best CB we have ever had and he was in his prime for maybe 5-6 years.

"There%u2019s not a fracture or anything like that, as far as I know." ... not the best thing to say after waiting weeks to finally do an MRI on Perriman... Let's not make the same mistake twice. It's been a week since Monroe's injury. Hope we don't find out next week that it's something more serious than they first thought.

i personally wouldn't mind seeing everyone that's been injured up to this point to just sit and get everything healed and rested up and not try to rush back. I think that's what keeps happening to Camp and Webb. They are so hungry to come back they don't come back at 100% and hurt themselves.
