MANY "have something to prove", INDIVIDUALLY- THEN collectively as a Raven.

Let the chips- fall (or the Ravens, land) where they may.....

I guess everyone is convincing themselves the outing against the eagles really didn't matter because we didn't game plan but to me, anytime you get that embarrassed, you better care about what happened. I am not going to rehash the game, but we got beat everywhere, offense and defense, 1st, 2nd and 3rd string, up front and in the back, we were straight up beaten. I am also uneasy about the comment Suggs made saying this isn't where we practice against them and then play all nice. What is that? They certainly practiced against us and didn't come out and play all nice, why did we? Maybe a little less bragging about their practices being like "apple juice" and "lets just say it was a good practice for THEM", maybe we should have worried about making it good practices for us and not playing "nice" during the game. The Eagles loss was because players went in cocky and got their butts handed to them. Sad part is, sounds like they haven't learned their lesson yet so it may take a beating by a lesser team to make these guys realize, just because people say they are good, doesn't necessarily make them good.

Not to be that guy but playing well against the Redskins in preseason doesn't say much. If they struggle we are in deep trouble because they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. If we win it doesn't show much. Likely the only conclusion coming out of the game is who may be on the roster and who may not be.

I'd rather we come out, lose and leave healthy, than trying to prove something in a meaningless preseason game, against a bottom tier team.

The Ravens have nothing to prove to me! Just pick up from that last drive against the pats and get that TOUCHDOWN and that will get this Super Bowl run going! This is for TRIPLE " S " LETS DO THIS

Don't need to prove anything until we get to DENVER. Just work to be ready for that and go from there. We know that this team has the talent and the ability once we get everyone back off of the PUP list. It is a bit concerning to see them falter like they did last week, but we all know what is being done to evaluate players. That is what you do in the pre-season games. Cuts are just ahead and that will be interesting for sure. If you look at the AFC North right now, you have to ask yourself is this division beginning to weaken a bit?

Fusuymada I think that playing against the eagles in the preseason puts the opponent at a distinct disadvantage. Without even watching tape of or game-planning for a spread offense like that there is nothing a BASE defense can do to stop it because its less about winning one on one matchups and more of staying disciplined (i'll speak more on the lackthereof later).

You also probably noticed on the first series that our defense looked gassed and didn't know assignments at the start of the plays. Well when your phone line is down and the players cant get the call it hurts execution. That is magnified 10 fold when playing a team like the Eagles where they're already trying to run so fast so the defense doesn't have time to line up and get assignments corrected. Our offensive struggles is a more justifiable point but I'll add this in as a caveat, if our injury riddled line can generate as much movement and push as they showed on the first series of run plays, then our offense with a healthy line will at least be an efficient, ball control offense if Flacco avoids turnovers.

All that being said I thought we went into that game with the completely wrong mindset. Harbs even mentioned pregame that their team broke the locker room huddle with "lets get the hell out of here". Clearly the ravens were tired of being on the road, weren't prepared physically or mentally for that game, and it showed. I doubt Harbs will allow that mindset to creep in when games start counting. Again, you're never as good as you think and you're never as bad as it seems, we will find out soon if this team is contenders or pretenders

We absolutely have way more to prove in Denver.... We just need to stay healthy enough that we can get our guys on the field Week 1.

In my view there really is nothing to prove other than to come out of this game healthy and sound in spirit! If we win the game we do, if we don't we don't.

You got that right and I'll be recording & watching the 49ners vs Denver Saturday just to see.

Obviously, health is paramount. However, if you want to avoid any creeping doubt (as Joe put it), then I'd really like to see 2 things:

First, you don't want to see the D line get pushed around the way they did vs. the Eagles.

Second, you'd like to see some semblance of timing between Joe and our receivers.

Just my opinion. Its only preseason, but Trestman needs to get out of this mentality that we are a running team and I am going to prove to everyone that I am not changing the offense. Watching the offense the first 2 weeks, I would call it bland and predictable. Too many 1st down runs. Followed up by 2nd Down Runs. Just call your game and keep defenses off balance.

People say preseason games don't count, but they do, as confidence builders, now this Saturday at 7:30pm we have a great chance to build some serious confidence against the Redskins that will take us to Denver to beat the Broncos, which I believe we can do!!! GO RAVENS!!!

they proved that they are not as good as we thought they were. A 36 year old WR is the best player on the team, that is not good. It wouldnt disappoint me if Schaub was cut Tuesday. This may be a long season.
