[News] No Timetable For Breshad Perriman's Return

128 posts in this topic

Quite honestly, this is getting ridiculous. First they estimate a quick return. Then couple of weeks. Then they kind of admit they really don't know what's wrong with him. Then they don't have a clue when he'll return. I can only imagine how frustrated Harbaugh must be.

Well....

As long as he makes it back week 1 and is healthy enough to run full speed I'm not too worried. It's not ideal but things could be much worse.

I mean what can you say? It's nobody's fault that it's not healing like they had hoped. The MRI didn't show anything and that's basically all they have to go on. Everybody heals differently and unfortunately it has taken longer to heal than what we all hoped. Really they aren't required to disclose injuries at all at this point anyway. It's all good people. He will be back. Atleast it's not flacco were talking about. We can make due and will get by just fine without him and when he returns it will be the icin on the cake.

I just hope this isnt going to be a sign of things to come with this kid. I was defending his injury and telling everyone to relax but dang a bruised bone or mild sprain he should be almost back What are they paying these trainers for?

Can anyone tell me if the Ravens knew about his condition before the draft? Also, was this injury a result of his condition or something unrelated?

bluehen - when he slammed his knee on the first day of practice, it aggravated the condition. IF our FO knew prior to the draft then it was a bad pick, if they didnt know then they didnt do their homework good enough.

Reminds me of Odell Beckham with his hamstring last year. Beckham not only missed all of training camp but also the first 4 games of the regular season! Put that in perspective. Giants fans were saying the same stuff "Is he always going to be injured?" "Why is this taking so long to heal, something is up".. all the stuff we're saying now. Beckham came back and lit it up, the same can happen with Perriman. In fact I would be surprised if he's back by week 1. Keep the faith people. Let Breshad heal that knee up to 100% and the rest will be history.

I would say his "condition" is more or less a non issue at this point in his life as he reaches adulthood the condition goes away if i understood the breakdown of the report on the condition correctly.

To suggest The Ravens didn't do their homework is insulting the integrity of your own team and is ridiculous!! The fans on this site should do their homework about OS and his current PCL injury!!

This is NOT true.  Doctors have stated numerous times that his current injury had nothing to do with his condition he had as a child.

It would be awesome if we don't hear a peep about him and then week 1 comes around and he's active but still not playing. Then in the 4th quarter we sneak him in out of nowhere and he blows by both defenders and hauls in a bomb from flacco to win the game. The mile high deceit?

Yeah I know I'm dreamin.

OK. Here is the deal...without a healthy Breshad Perriman that can produce we may be in trouble. I had that same injury in a lax game in which I fell directly on my knee and supposedly "bruised it"...well 3 months later it was not better and I had to get surgery from the bursa sac formed and was out for a long time. I have no clue exactly Perriman's injury consists of but I hope it was not like mine..I still have problems with it. But falling directly on the knee cap and being out this long is NOT a good sign. We will need to aquire somebody via free agency, trade, or somewhere to compete. Our current receiver corp is not gonna do it and I hate to say it. We have a stud on a sunset cruise of his career in SSS and a bunch of guys with a "maybe" label on them. That does not cut it in the NFL. Please get a back up plan Baltimore..

I think Perriman plays against Denver and the fact that there isn't much tape from preseason on him, he'll be a nightmare to defend in our first regular season game.

I can't help but think if a 36 year old Steve Smith, Sr. had the same injury he would be practicing by now and an Opening day starter. Time for BP to Sack up!

If the swelling doesn't reduce, he can't produce. So, why don't we let him rest his knee and come back blazing for game 1 folks?

I must admit I come on the site daily, just praying that we see Perriman on the practice field, at least jogging out routes and getting warmed up. This bit of news is basically telling me not to bother ... don't expect him to even run a route anytime soon.

Normally with injuries there is an idea of what is wrong and what it takes to come back. When a player "tweaks" his knee, then is out for a month and has no timetable to return... that's pretty disheartening.

If he does not play first game its next man up. Ravens fans should know that by now. We have been there so many times before. Perriman needs to heal completely without worry that he will make it worse. Boy oh boy it is not the end of the world guys. Get a grip. He will be back when ready. Go Ravens.

it is disheartening, you would think we would have Atleast seen him jogging or had a timetable... We can only hope that it's somehow strategy related. If not it's next man up. We don't need him to win, he's just the cherry on top.

I think Raven should or probably are looking for a speedster to add to the roster. What could be troubling is if after a month of waiting , they determine some type of procedure is needed which will take him out most if not the rest of the year. If it was just swelling, it should l be getting better. It's disturbing when your late round, old vets, and undrafted guys are more reliable than guys you draft in the first 3 rounds (i.e. Orr, Aiken, and Marlon Brown now have been more dependable than guys you draft like Elam, Aurthur Brown, Webb, Campanero, Perriman?. Ravens can't afford 2 out of the last 3 first round picks not to pan out. whether it's due to injury or their play. Too early to tell for Perriman, but I really hope he can play this year.

More worried about the o-line and Taliaferro injuries. The Ravens have some tall receivers with good speed, that makes them just as much of a deep threat as a speed guy because a lot of teams only have one tall DB if that and jump balls are hard to win if the guy you are defending is 2-5 inches taller than you. If the o-line was good and Taliaferro was healthy we could of beat the other team down with old fashion grind down run plays mixing different styles of running, short passes bring the defense close and then Flacco putting the high deep pass up for the big boys to battle for, speed is nice but we can survive without it. We need the healthy o-line more than the speed guy.
