Wallers potential could mean a bright future in Baltimore.

Theres also one solid factor going into 2015 that was not present going into 2013 and that is Flacco currently does have a "Go To" guy in Steve Smith. Sr......the old guys does have Joes trust. It was demonstrated again in preseason.

After seeing how Waller preformed against The Redskins starting corners you can tell the guy  still needs to work on his game. He really doesn't  seem to escape press man all to well  but I am impressed by how quick he is for a guy his size.

Outside of the o-line that was possibly the biggest issue in 2013. Flacco didn't seem to be on the same page as any of the receivers that year. But right now he has SSS and you can see that he's developing chemistry with Gilmore.

I was sitting on the edge of my seat during the 6th round saying let it be Waller.  I'm ecstatic that he made the team, but am a bit concerned about his trouble getting jammed up at the line of scrimmage.  I imagine he's not going to be Flacco's first, second or even third look until he's able to figure out a way to break free, but if he does, I imagine those long strides going down the field pulling away from a dback while at the same time, Perriman is running down the opposite side.  Joe will be in quarterback heaven.

I remember people calling Tommy Streeter "Touchdown Tommy" as well...

In his defense, I think it was a college nickname. Could be wrong though.

OK.  How about Touchdown Danny Brown?   :D

Every year, just before game 1, I think about which play I'd most like to see with our first offensive snap of the season.

This year I'd like to see an 80 yard bomb to Waller.

After being sky high on Waller, I have to say I've been somewhat disappointed in his failure to clear. When the Safety isn't sitting atop the play, I'd like to see Waller run the fly after the jam.  There's not may CB's that are going to be able to turn and run with Waller and even if they do, Waller's height puts him at an advantage in running a fly in those circumstances.

I'm also suspecting that we did not tip our hand too far in the preseason games.  We couldn't with Perriman out, but come mid year I believe we are going to have a very dangerous Passing Game.

The way Marlon has played coupled with injuries to Perriman and Camp could mean that Waller is our #3 guy. Could see some PT this game.

You're exactly right...  He was "Touchdown Tommy" at "The U".

I can't post the video that's on YouTube, it has some profanity...  but yes...  And he only played a season or so there.

It's obvious that we need to start Waller.

1. I don't even know if Aiken was in the stadium

2. The Marlon experiment is over, he's not good.

3. Waller was looking good on S/T

Waller isn't good either, another preseason late round/UDFA star that gets hyped up by Ravens media and fans.

But might as well try him out because it's not like Aiken or Brown are doing much.

He's fast, tall and showed potential in college, do you have a better idea?

I agreed that we might as well try him out because everyone else is a proven scrub. He's probably a scrub too but at least the potential is there.

At this point, you couldn't convince me that Waller would do less on the field than Aiken.

I still have no idea why we continue to rely on Aiken.

So many players getting hyped this preseason by the press but even more so by the organization.

Remember Steven Means? Jeremy Butler?

He's blackmailing someone in the front office. He has to be. For all the bad WRs we've started, Aiken is the worst since pre-Mark Clayton. In fact, the offense would be much better if Clayton was in his place.

I said this offseason that Aiken was [bad] and got negged every time. Well bring it on because Aiken is the worst #2 WR we've had in the Flacco era. He's worse than many #3s. Kelly Washington would probably be better. Demetrius Williams would be better.

Sounds like he just needs reps......Aiken's reps!

The starting wr corps needs to be waller, smith, camp. And run more 2-3 TE sets as well, maxx, Gilmore, and Boyle all looked solid today

In full agreement. I think the Aiken/Brown experiment needs to be pronounced dead.

The TEs are our only decent passcatchers along with SSS. They're still young and raw but they'll be great going forward.

My last post got negged as expected but honestly, this here would probably be the best lineup we can field right now.  Make Brown the #4 and Aiken can hold the #5 spot until he gets pushed down by Perriman's eventual return.

9 players caught a pass today.  Nine.  Yet 0 catches from our supposed #2 WR who likely logged more snaps than anybody since SSS left briefly due to injury.  Aiken is a bum

I have been saying Waller needs a chance. The pass to him last week was a horrible one! Flacco needs more 2 TE sets with SSS and Camp and Waller playing more in rotation. Marlon and Aiken are not tops WR's. they are good rotation guys to play when spelling the starters and maybe on special packages but as they did the last couple of seasons, when they are needed the most, they vanish like water in volcano.....

In addition, with Wallers size and Perrmiens speed, no way they dont get a least a PI down the field in single coverage.

I wonder if bringing in Daniel Brown as well would be helpful. We need to starting mixing it up here. Our offense for the last three games has started out slow and SSS is killing himself trying to do it alone at WR. Camp is helping but they are both more effective as slot guys. We need guys who can work the outside and Marlon and Aiken cannot do that.

I typically don't blame the coaches too much but their refusal to try certain players out is annoying to me.  In 2013, the man guys at WR played so bad John made Brown and Mellette the starters of the 3rd preseason game.  In today's game, the benched Melvin after he got beat multiple times early on.  John has regularly benched players for fumbling or very bad play (minus those big dollar guys with a contract you can't cut).  So what's stopping them from moving on from Aiken??  Is he practicing so well that they figure it has to eventually translate to the field?

During preseason I argued with people who said Kamar wasn't playing hard because he knew he had the job locked up.  What's the excuse now?  The guys is not even better than Demetrius Williams.  After the first 0-3 start in franchise history and watching Steve Smith play so hard he needed a freaking I.V., they need to just shake things up and swap Waller with Aiken.  He just can't do worse than 0 catches

The commitment to Aiken is just driving me nuts. His only decent game was last week, and even then he fumbled on the first possession, a fumble that turned into 3 extra points in a very close game.
