[News] Ravens' Best Kept Secrets Entering 2015

18 posts in this topic

The secret is out now.  LOL. Great list!

I'm very excited about Crocket Gillmore's potential. He bulked up and got faster during the off-season and should be used often in Trestman's TE friendly offense.  BTW, if Maxx Williams continues to hurdle defenders, he won't be a secret too much longer.

I don't think anybody is sleeping on a Crocket the guy is a mismatch problem he's just bigger than everybody else in the middle of the field period.

It is a shame about Perriman, but I have faith in Aiken making plays in his absence. I think Gilmore and Williams are going to be a good duo this season. I do have some worries. I am worried about our offensive line getting healthy for the start of the season and staying healthy. I am worried about the defense setting the edge, because that seems like that could still be a problem this year. And lastly, I worry about our secondary's health and if Melvin is up to the task of being a solid #2.

I would like to suggest 3 possible sleepers for this season:

1. Michael Campanaro... He is a mismatch problem...

2. Courtney Upshaw... He is low profile playing behind Suggs and Doom.. but is solid and in a contract year. Watch out for Courtney to have a giant season

3. Zdarius Smth... again will have limited opportunites with who is in front of him but he seems to be finding a comfort zone early! He could turn some heads

BONUS- Buck ALlen... he will have his opportunities early... if he can make the most of them... we may see his role expand! He fits our system well and Trestman likes his ability to be an outlet out of the backfield!

Sleepers..... Darren Waller, Buck Allen, John Urshel and NIck Boyle. All need to make this team regardless of who is picked for 2nd team! If Perriman PUP's it will give the team to evaluate the bottom 3 recievers. I say Bole and Allen are the 3rd stringers that make this team. Urshael should be a given and Waller makes the team especially if Perriman is not ready to go.

It's funny looking back on the draft wher we took CJ and Timmy (sophmore class). Seemed like a lot of people were angry that we didn't take a safety or some other pick. I have to admit I wondered where we were going.

But now these guys are growing into being the backbone of our defense. If they can stay healthy and grow as leaders we should have a strong defense for a while.

Aiken Making Bacon! He knows exactly how to time a break away from the defender and into the football. Aiken is a bold and powerful receiver that has the potential to lead the Ravens in all receiving categories. He wants the football more than anyone in the stadium. Get it to him and good things happen.
