[News] Late For Work 8/27: Teammate Says Joe Flacco Chasing 'Perfection'

26 posts in this topic

Flacco's definitely matured. Having a kids and a family will do that to you and show you what is real. He's certainly grown into his skin and the big expectations put on him and now seems more comfortable within himself. His new Pepsi commercial shows he's fine with acting like a goof much like Peyton Manning started doing 8 years ago. The so-called "quiet confidence" that the team said he possessed seems less a cover for his quiet demeanor now because he's now leading by example and "living it" not preaching it. Most importantly, his list of accolades speak for themselves and younger players and veterans alike are emulating his work ethic. Top QB's are not just hatched. They are carefully crafted and it takes years for any one to hits their stride. Even as a fan Joe makes me feel more at ease coming into this season than any other before.

I still really like Asa as a returner, especially on punts. During the first game he looked super dangerous back there. Problem is obviously that he can't stay healthy to save his life. The door is open to him now with the lackluster performance of the other kick returners, hope he locks down the job this week, let's see a TD.

You can put Monroe, Webb, and Campanaro at the end of the bench, and in that order. Granted there is still  hope for Campanaro to get healthy and perform to the ability he has shown. He's a player with exciting pro tools

Eagles are stacked at RB, if they try to sneak that one guy who took to the house against us through waivers and onto their PS, we should snag him for a look see....Asa and Camp just get dinged up to often to be reliable, or dependable....

If people are following my comments, I am a big Waller fan. I think he has the same skill set Torrey Smith had coming out of Maryland. He has size, but also 4.47 speed and is raw but developing quickly. I can see him, much like Torrey, getting out there and playing and about the third game, rack up a couple TD's just like Smith did. I see Aiken, Butler, Brown, camp etc... and those guys more as slot guys, but game one we need some size and speed out there and they only one on the roster who can do that is Waller. As far as Monroe goes and his injury, I went to training camp this year and Monroe looked like he had twig legs and he was being pushed all over the place. He no longer impresses me in any way and we need to be looking for a legit left tackle who can actually get out there and play. I thought Hurst played as well as Monroe last year. It is too late to get a tackle now but next draft, I am sure left tackle will be on their list of priorities.

I Think waller should get a look with the first team make him the number 2 reciver and see if he takes advantage of his oppourtunity cause we need that speed size combo at the top of our line up we kno wht aiken can do marlon hasnt flashed much and we havent seen perriman so give waller a shot with the first team

I like Waller since he is a mismatch and can win 50/50 balls. I need to see more of Butler. Camp and Webb are too injury prone. I feel like other guys mis out on making the team and being able to retain due to salary cap. Meanwhile Webb pulls 6-8 Mil a year and either gets exposed on the field or injured.

This is the question on every single NFL team's fans, HC, GM etc... We're not even among the teams hit the hardest this time. Luckily, we have no key player injured seriously in the pre-season - and let's hop Saturday's game won't change that.

Anyone coming off of knee surgery is always suspect to me.  I'm sure he's physically able to do the job, it's the mental part of trusting his knee that usually holds guys back when coming off that injury.

Joe has the ability to handle chasing perfection because he is even keel and confident enough to handle the inevitable failures which are part of the game. Many QB's in the league cannot keep the level of composure to absorb the ups and downs as well as Joe can. Fans, the best EVER, funniest commercial by a sports celebrity features our own Joe Flacco. Thanks Tenacious for reminding me to view it. Don't miss this genius, hilarious performance by Joe off the field also.

Waller IMO is a keeper ,he has shown to much to try to get him through the waiver wire and onto the PS....Especially with all the teams who have suffered year end injuries to their WR corp....No doubt the Pats would probably scoop him up in a second....6'6 4.40 speed is sick....

Waller, Marlon Brown, and all of our TEs in goal line packages. I believe there will be at least one 5'9 corner covering at lease one of those guys which will result to a touchdown 90% of the times.

I know this is old news but id just like to reiterate how strongly we nailed this years draft. I know it's a little premature bc we haven't seen any of them during regular season games but looking at the list of guys we snagged every single one of them has huge potential. Perriman, Maxx, buck Allen , Carl Davis , zadarius , nick Boyle, tray walker and Waller. What's not to like about any of these guys ? Can't wait to see how all of them pan out 3-4 years from now. I think this will go down as one of the strongest drafts the ravens have had in recent history. We may not see it immediately bc they will need some time to develop but man did we knock it out the park.

Marlon Brown needs to learn to play to his size and he'll be good!

couple that with last year's class; CJ, Jernigan, Brooks, Taliaferro, Urschel, Hurst, Campanaro, Orr and we've done extremely well the past 2 years.

Flacco just seems to have acquired a much higher sense of confidence this year which gives me more confidence and I'm sure it gives all the players more confidence. I'm excited about this year.

Also can anyone tell me how to turn on the AUTO PLAY when I'm trying to see a live press conference? Its GREEN and ON for the recorded stuff but RED and OFF for the live stuff. Wheres the ON switch?
