Can I Wear A New Jersey?

30 posts in this topic

My wife just bought me a new Flacco jersey but I don't want to jinx the Ravens in the playoffs changing from my 8 year old 52 jersey. I know that nothing I do is going to change the out come of the game but at the same time I can't help but think I should really keep everything the way it is. Or is there a loop hole the can get me into my Flacco jersey?

Topic: Can I wear a New Jersey?

Answer: Well, that's what Delawore.

Okay, that joke doesn't work in reverse, but it's what I thought of when I read the title.

...and it's been a long day at work.

I should be receiving a Flacco jersey tomorrow, which will replace my McNair jersey. I always wear a purple Ravens t-shirt underneath

It's a purple jersey. Thanx everyone for your responses I'm glad to see people put as much thought into things like this as I do.

Oh, yeah, I just have to be wearing a Ravens shirt. Usually, it's a tee shirt I have - or if I'm at the game and its cold, a Ravens sweatshirt. And I have to be drinking out of a Ravens cup. I've brought home the ones from the games I went to and I use them at home. We all have our little superstitions...

If the Ravens lose on saturday because you wore your Flacco jersey instead of Ray Lewis.....I will hunt you down :P

I have the black and Purple Flacco jersey. Although I would like to add a white one to my jersey collection. :)

I've somewhat broken from my superstition of sticking with just ONE jersey on gameday, but I still prefer my purple Ray Lewis jersey just for my peace of mind. Though, my black Flacco jersey has definitely had some use on Sundays this season.

Either way, I have to wear a jersey on gameday, no matter what. There's no avoiding it.

Absolutely NOT! Well, at least I would'nt. If there is one thing that I am supersticious about when we are winning, its with what I wear for gameday.

But seriously. It's all just a bunch of BS. It just makes me feel better. It obviously has no bearing on the outcome of the game. Although I know that you care because if you didn't, you wouldn't be here asking for permission! lol! :P

No, that's what I thought. That's what happens when you capitalize the N & J in new jersey, makes it sound like the state. And sure, wear the new jersey man, wear it proud.

I would say it would be up to you. Every game since the Dallas Game, I have been wearing my Ray Lewis Purple Jersey. Apparently it has been working(Knock on Wood) and thats what I plan on wearing Saturday afternoon for the Titans Game.

BWAAAAAA HAAAAAAA!!!!!

Wow, you're worse than me. I'm very superstitous about what I wear on game day; it MUST be one of two jerseys (depending on home or away).

Alternate Black Ed Reed all the way every game. I think i am 26 and 4. i am very superstitious over my props though. I have 2 "raven calls" that I have always taken to the games we won. One of my surly redskins fan friends stole one and I gave the other to a raven fan in a bar in Vail, CO over Christmas break during the Jax game. I thought i was screwed for Miami. but look how that worked out.

You will have to do the following:
Answer every question you are asked "NO!!" on Tuesday
Use only your left foot on Wednesday
Use only your right foot on Thursday
Drink a cup of tadpoles on Friday

and as mentioned earlier- see the village witch doctor

You have been warned!!

Do not make me send a malaka at you!!

As of right now everyone knows that McNair was the best QB to wear a Ravens Jersey....Flacco has years to prove himself if he bring the ravens to the number 3 ranked offense in the league.....Flacco will have mcNair beat....

Umm...McNair never quarterbacked the 3rd-ranked offense in the league with the Ravens -- they were 10th in the league in 2006 with McNair. But really, the passing offense was something like 26th in the league.

Flacco doesn't need to helm the 3rd-ranked offense to have McNair beat; he's already won more playoff games as the starting QB than McNair did in his brief stint as a Raven.

Think of it this way (It makes me feel better) :

If someone wears a jersey thats been working all year.. and the Ravens win.. it's good.
Now say a lousy Titans fan has been wearing another jersey that have been working all year.. and The titans lose.. it's no good.

I doubt anyone is catching my drift .. lol... but what I'm trying to get at is.. Don't be overhyped about what you wear on gameday, because every single day superstitions are made... and they pass and fail. :D

Even though I wear the same thing every gameday... ;)

For everyone coming down for Friday night, this is what I suggest:

Friday night wear your purple or white jerseys.

Saturday, for the actual game... wear black if you have it. It sticks out much better in a crowd full of blue than purple or white will. We got to show the Titans that we travel in numbers! And, we also wanna show our boys we support them! So go black for the game, but purple is fine the rest of the weekend.

GO RAVENS!

Wear it!

I've been wearing my purple Flacco jersey on Purple Friday this year, and now that I have my Ravens Playoff shirt, that will be going on underneath this Friday.
