[News] RB Lorenzo Taliaferro To Miss A 'Few Weeks,' Other Injury Updates

54 posts in this topic

"Soft tissue" sounds like a contusion of some sort. Since his prior issues were almost all ligament/joint-related, this sounds like an anomaly. Depends on how bad and where (assuming it's the leg though) should be able to come back full in time for the season.

He's not gonna make the roster....Steve smith,Perriman,Aiken,Waller,Brown,Butler. WIll. Campanaro has always had soft tissue injuries (hamstring kept him out in the regular season last year) and again this off-season. The ravens don't like injury prone players....and they'll just cut him as they should he doesn't have a role as a smallish slot reciever in this offense.

Man Ravens fans are hard on their players! I am grateful the injuries don't seem to be serious and we do have some time before the first game. Also, if you look around the league you will the injury bug has'nt just hit Baltimore and we actually aren't in terrible shape by comparison. But man do some of you jump ship quickly. I don't get it.

Some guys may have NFL talent, but not NFL bodies. Camp seems like he can't go 2 games without needed time off, Webb is always injured (knees, foot, back).. A lot of non contact injuries from those guys. Due to injuries , guys like Magee and Nelson could make the team. I like what I've seen from Nelson as a receiver and Magee was running hard last game. Ravens may also pick up a guy after cuts for depth.

seeing injuries around the league, i would keep key starters out of the preseason.

None of his prior injuries in the NFL were ligament/joint related. They were all muscle related. It's kind of weird that they're being so vague this time by just saying "soft tissue".

Looking at the Packers and Steelers' recent casualties, you quickly realize it could always be worse. Hell, the Jags lost their #3 overall pick, Dante Fowler, for the entire season the second he stepped onto the field. At least these guys won't be out for more than a few weeks (the same cannot be said of Urban and Elam though, unfortunately).

In medical terms 'soft tissue' means anything not bone.  So it could be tendon, ligament, muscle, etc.

TBH.... I really don't care if any of our starters play the rest of the preseason. If they do and that helps timing then great... if they don't... there is little chance of them getting hurt. IDK>.... it think the risk in PS is much greater then the reward!

I'm sure that management knows how serious the injuries are that are piling up, an we will wake up one day soon an find out that there has been a trade for a skill that they feel is needed, no need to second guess them!

The only question now is whether the "few" in "few weeks" here mean "a couple of", "not many", or like in Perriman's "a few days" of missing due to his injury...

Camp cuts start this weekend. Ozzie will scour the waiver wire.

While I'm quite sure there are gonna be RB's available who would make more promising backups than Buck Allen (sorry, but Allen has shown precious little so far...), I'm not sure we should spend a final roster spot on the 53 for a player who would only fulfil a temporary need until Taliaferro returns.

What I'm really hoping for is a serviceable kick/punt returner. What we seem to have in that department is not as much a hole as a void...

Soft tissue? As much as I am rooting on Campanaro I refuse to keep getting my hopes up. He appears to be comprised of 'soft tissue'. Enough is enough, here.

Let's just face it. Campagnaro's injury prone right now. Hopefully, he can get out of this injury rut and have a long, productive career. I think he still should make the team because he's the type of wr flacco can progress w/. He is a solid route runner w/ really good hands & strength for his size. He has a bit of burst, too. If anything, just put him on IR.

Need returner and possibly some o-line help. Ours are all injured.

I know there are many o linemen hurt, but I'm really concerned about the severity of these injuries. Of course, we'll never know what that is. They will be hurt until they are not.

While everyone is looking for blood against the Redskins, after that miserable performance vs. the Eagles, I just want to see us get healthy. We need all 5 of our starting linemen out there come week 1.

That was my point. "Soft tissue" is extremely vague. I wonder why we haven't heard anything more specific.

Campanaro just doesn't seem built solid enough to play in the NFL. He has the talent but his injury frequency is ridiculous. Not worth taking the roster spot of someone that can stay healthy.

I'm glad Taliaferro will be back but it will be more like 4-6 weeks. Toussaint is a really good back IMO and just needs the chance to show it. He is a lot like Taliaferro. Buck has a long way to go it seems. The O line will be ready week one....I hope Harbaugh keeps everybody out of the last 2 preseason games but practice squad and 2-3 team players. No reason to risk an injury to any starter whatsoever. Right now we are on the plus side of the injury ledger, unlike the Steelers who have lost their kicker and pro bowl center for the year. Ouch, that has to hurt big time.
