[News] Daniel Brown's First Catch A Highlight-Reel Touchdown

14 posts in this topic

I wonder how his blocking is off the line and down the field. He doesn't seem very fast but sometimes that can be deceptive. If he can run good routes it might be worth it to keep him on the practice squad

Always tend to root for the UFA's and small school guys to make it in pro sports. They have typically gotten overlooked by the big schools and have had to fight to get noticed, much less get an opportunity. Hoping Daniel Brown and others realize their dreams with the Ravens or get a shot elsewhere. Congrats on an impressive 1st NFL TD Daniel.

If I were the Ravens, I would hide this guy until after practice squads are decided. Brown looks like he has talent but his collegiate competition was not the best and he would benefit with a year on the practice squad. The more he plays, the more teams see him the more likely he will get picked up by someone else. Is it wrong to hold the guy back this year so he can shine next year or the following year? I don't think so. Especially since he isn't going to make the 53.

Waller is making this team, so you can take his name off the "iffy" list now. He has balled out enough in 2 preseason games and practice and with 6'6 240 freak athlete WR frame no way they can cut him or slide him on PS.

I want to see Dan Brown, and Tom Nelson next week both intrigue me. Brown another big body athletic WR, and Nelson a Welker/Campanaro type quick/shifty type who is always open, both performed well this week, and with Campanaro being injury prone I could see Nelson making it.

His catch is being blown way out of proportion...he's as much of a threat to make the final 53 as he was before this game. Practice squad candidate? sure, but he isn't having a threatening preseason thus far, 1 catch total and I think any one of our receivers oculd have made that catch. It was well thrown and the corner barely got fingertips on it.

Maybe but I bet Evans had hands like that.

In my opinion I feel we should give Daniel Brown a chance to play in the last two pre season games to see what he really is about. The filtering of recievers shouldn't be that hard to do when the time comes.

I think put Campanaro on IR again and give him another year to build up his body so that he isn't getting injured all the time....or cut him. Smith Perriman Waller Brown Aiken and Butler will be ok as our 6 receivers. Put Nelson and the other Brown on the practice squad. Keep Carter if we keep 7 WRs, otherwise he goes to Practice squad as well.

Camp may get injured but he can catch in the slot. We  have a lot of good players at  wide and he is worthy of a 53 spot.

All of a sudden the Oline gets descimated and that spells a different strategy  for the final cuts as none of them play special teams. So is it the Oline or the reciever corp that gets the majority of players?  Oline wins. Unfortunately, the Eagles game shed light on our most prized unit when a plug and play approach was the last choice. The decisions to cut and keep players is nerve racking; not necessarily the out come of pre season games.       . .

One of my friends at work is a Giants fan and he moaned about all the pre season losses mounting on his team. Other teams are suffering such as Jordy Nelson of the Packers, Clowney of theTexans, Benjamin of the Panthers and Pouncey of the Steelers.  He suggested that the NFL cut pre season to two games, add two regular season games and set the roster limit to 75.  I like it but I'm sure the expenses and contracts dictate the system that is in effect now. That magic 53 number is actually detramental to the teams.  Seventy five players could help alleviate the mounting injuries each NFL team  faces.

I've thought that too - extend the roster if you plan on extending the regular season to 18 games. Teams need more bodies to fill in for injuries over a longer season. Of course, the cap number would have to increase accordingly too.
